Because it’s my truck! That’s why…..
Kurt, You are a constant pleasure!
When people start paying your bills then they can start questioning how you do things. Stay safe and love the pups!
Kurt I feel your pain. You drive your truck your way and let those people drive their truck’s their way. Safe travels
I really loved your video. As someone with Bi-Polar type one it’s my dream to be able to drive truck and I’m working on getting my nerves back together after I had a break 8 years ago. Your videos give me hope that people that take medication can truck! Also I have a dog so I love seeing the interaction. ❤
Watched your videos for about 4 years now.loving them.but dam makes me sad to see Opie getting old.😭❤
It does me to
I call mine 'moment pills'. I totally get it. Don't worry about what other people say. Just do you. What's the last thing to go through a bug's mind when it hits a windshield? It's a$$hole. Thanks for the great ride. Please stay safe, and God bless.
Lol
You asked Opie if he had to go potty, and my Jack Russell Freya jumped up and was ready to go! Lol. I told her. No, not you! Opie! Lol. The look of disappointment. 😂
Lol thats to funny.
The lady in the fuel island, eating at Subway…she hasn’t been told the world does NOT revolve around her! Would be a good lesson for her kid too. It’s up to you to tell her! 😂😂
I hear ya. Seat needs to be comfortable not cool...but yes the shifter should be cool 😁😁😁
All about comfort at this point with me lol
I'm falling apart sometimes I think.
I think, the reason why they make adjustable seats is so you can adjust them to just how you like it. 🙂
Thx for another good video.
I have been in a wheelchair for 28 years and you are so right about the store isles. Dollar general is the worst! Thank you for the great videos! I watch every one
Many thanks for not playing music while your driving. Hearing those stacks and turbo is music to my ears!!! Love your dogs.....Your a good family man!! thanks for your videos.... enjoy them much!!
A good delivery then Kurt you and Opie take good care of yourselves won't you Kurt
Hey Kurt, I am a subscriber of yours for a while now. I really enjoy all the stuff. Stopped at Sparkys yesterday, nice place. I drive a Peterbilt 389 and I do not put air in my chair either. Never have, never will. I am an average size guy, my seat is all the way back and my shifter is a little above shoulder height. It is comfortable to me. I am an old guy and it's all about comfort. Have a great day sir.
Back in the early 80’s I was a city driver for Yellow freight and our seats. Were bolted to the floor. You wore your seat belt to stay in the seat . In 1988 was the first year city trucks got air ride seats and power steering . Linehaul had air ride seats and power steering.
I am with you on the no air in the seat since I had an airbag go "kablam" in TN which scared the crap out of me AND instantly dropped me down to the floor so I could not see crap! Ever since then no air and arrange the truck to you!😊😊😊
That sounds just as fun as having the back of the seat fall off while in traffic. I damn near fell back behind the seat while trying to grab a gear and determine wtf happened.
Kurt be careful out there and stay cool
New subscriber here. So far this is my 3rd video I've seen. Pretty cool man. Stay safe on the road and can't wait for the next video
Hope all is good in your life. I cant believe you would ride in the jump seat
It took about a month for my glasses this year. Last year was about the same. I feel your pain.
I love your videos. Learning new things.
Comfort is the main thing. Do what you need to do to be comfortable and be safe. Thank you for what you do. God Bless you and your fur babies which are family too.
Kurt no worries you have a hard job dealing with other drivers. My dad was an over the road drive for 30 years and retired in 1988. In the 70's as a teenager I would go with him on a trip now and again and I learned words I had never heard and could tell how frustrated he would get with other drivers back then. I can only imagine what it is like today. I enjoy the channel!
Kurt that green 💚 towel is suppose to magically take control of the shifter so it will automatically shift itself when your hand gets tired
Lol yup
Thanks for the video trucking with Schmidt
Enjoyed once again awesome video .
If that wear is on the inside rib of the inside tire on the drive that is wheel bearing loose. Contact MD Alignment out of Iowa and Mike Beckit will tell you the easy way and correct amount of torque to tighten the wheel bearings.
Yes that is wheel bearings loose on that position for sure
I enjoy your channel more than I thought I would! Thanks Learning every video! ~Old Lady from Central CA
It’s your truck, dude. You don’t have to justify anything.
Kurt hows things!! Opie look like he's walking better!!
I’ve tried just about all those hipster shifter knobs, and NOTHING is as comfortable as the factory ones! Especially for guys who rest their arm on em while they drive!
Be safe out there.
You should drive your truck with what you feel necessary
A very nice video again Kurt thnx
KURT THE BOTTOM LINE BROTHER YOU DO YOU & WHATS COMFORTABLE FOR YOU YOU LIVE IN YOUR TRUCK TO A POINT YOU BE COMFORTABLE !! MY DAD DID NOT ALL WAYS HAVE AIR IN HIS SEAT FOR THE EXACT REASON YOU SAID !! ✊✊✊
Why are you yelling, all caps = yelling
My seat is all the way back and all the way down with just a smidge of air in it .
Just be yourself!
Driving your truck outfitted and set up to meet your needs is completely alright. I'm 85 Kurt, have learned that years of driving with my auto and truck windows open have led to my left ear becoming useless without a hearing aid. I hope you don't suffer the same fate I have. Nice ride, thankee! Be well.
THANKS
I see Opie is walking better. Be careful and stay safe out there Kurt.
GREAT VIDEO KURT BE BLESSED BE SAFE !! 🐾🐾🐾❤️🐾🐾🐾
Thank you! You too!
You don't set your truck up the exact same way I do. You're doing it wrong. 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Safe travels to you and Opie.
Kurt Thanks for the root beer float, I haven’t had one of those in a long long time. Hits the spot.
Air seats stop jolting on your spine. Great show. Regards from Wales.
We had to put our "Hank" down last weekend. He was 13 years old. A German/Husky. Makes me enjoy Opie all the more!
Being comfortable is key 🔑 on those roadways so do what's comfortable for you brother and stay focused and safe I have cousins who live in Enid Oklahoma.
Don't take your pills!!!! We wana see crazy 🤪 side!!! Stryker radio!!!! Don't forget about your Stryker radio!!! It really really misses you
Yes ! When everything goes super smoothly, that’s sketchy 😂
Great video Kurt. Had me lmao
Keep it up and stay safe from the storms
Wa Wa Wa your officially a member of the Truckers club Wa ☮️🍁 Lol
Back in my driving days I always drove with the seat down low. 👍 be safe
Stay clam Kurt. We need you to be around for us.
Kurt I’m new to your channel and I enjoy your content. Safe travels to you and your partner
🐾🐾
Welcome aboard!
Our adventure starts today , Oklahoma can’t say I’ve been there but I can say you and opie took me there today thank you for your adventures, stay safe see you on the flip side.
The pretty of it starts tomorrow
Kurt, it was 48* here in Twin Falls, but it felt a bunch colder with the 32mph wind. BRRRR!!!!!!!!!
Schmidt's beard is boss. 💪🏾👍🏾
Bless your heart….. if you think going down the highway in a truck without air in the seat and reaching up to shift gears is a better idea than you just go ahead and drive YOUR truck like that. I promise I won’t laugh…really I promise 😂😂😂😂😂
20 minutes is awesome
If you really want to get sea sick… add air, and flip the front to back slider; that’s a prime vomit machine my brother.
Kurt keep doing what you do give German a pat for me
I used to work at a Petro in Elkton Md, and I have seen drivers put gulf balls in their tires to help balance them out. I thought you put the rag on the shifter because your palm was sweaty.
Dollar tree reading glasses work great.
Stay safe
That first gen dodge dually in the back ground when you were booking up was right
I am one glad you don't use the Jake break. I have a young friend that started his own transport company. Little family money. I don't think he ever turns the damn brakes off. He tells me he is saving on the shoes and how much they cost to replace. All about trying to be cool I guess. Or just a young guy enjoying his new career. For me, I am like you Kurt even while riding my motorcycle. Coast to stop. Not down shifting. I guess it takes a while for some to learn.
yep i never drove with air in my seat motion sick i feel ya safe ride. ;]
I have those "almost" crazy moments too.
Mr. Kert I hope you and family doing well, I was fallow the weather in Iowa hope everyone well, thanks for the Uberdad T-shirt looked great, thanks so much!!!👍👽🐕
Thanks, you too!
The tire wear is called river wear. It's caused by internal cord separation. When you said you had it repaired is when the cord separation happened before the repair. The hole allowed air to infiltrate the steel belts separating the rubber and belt. As a retired truck mechanic. I liked tall shifters. They put a lot more wear in the transmission shift forks and sliding clutches. When I drove for awhile. I had to have a little air in the seat. It was the only air bag on the truck.
Thanks for the tire info
I know exactly how if feels to be a tall trucker. I'm 6'7, seats down with a tall shifter. Cant do it any other way.
I’m not a truck driver,I am however 6’8” . I have never tried airbags but I have tried hydrolic suspention ,I got sick! What I’m trying to say is, you have to put in the hours behind the wheel, you need to be as comfortable as possible !
I had to wait two weeks extra because they messed up the prescription was driving back and forth from Oklahoma to Michigan on a move good luck with that
As a somewhat local to the fairview ks area, that TA is a million times nicer than the All Star up the road since the new owner took that over. Very happy they built that there
Love a&w my husband and I always eat there when we go up to Tennessee
Serenity now!! I gotta lot problems with you people. Lol
Wow I did not know that some truck trailers have compartments where paperwork can be stored for the truck driver
Enid is about two hours north west of me. I go there to do inspection sometimes but I really do charge to do it. Enid is the home of Atwoods. Atwoods is in Oklahoma based tractor supply top store. It’s a lot better than tractor supply though. It makes tractor supply look like a sissy store. The main Atwoods store is in Enid. I guess it would be like your Menards
Oh yeah dude we want you to change the shifter knob to an 70s glitter knob!!! And your brakes knobs!!!
Hi Kurt and Opie
Kurt, you just need to be you and dont worry about the other say. Be comfortable, safe and happy. The longer I drove the less patience I had. I dont think there are enough crazy pills to keep me from asking that woman if she was driving a truck because that was for trucks fueling and park elsewhere. Yeah, I can get road rage inside of Walmart now. Be Safe
Hay Kurt
Nice trip. Dont you just hate bugs on the windshield? God bless. Be safe.. 🌹🙏❤️
Kurt….. you do you. If you don’t want air in your seat… fine. If you want to sit on double cream pies while you drive down the highway. It all you
I totally agree!!
Opie told me that plenty of air comes out of your seat ha ha
Lol
That makes perfect sense coast, wherever you can fuel the matter what the circumstances always going to be the particular matter that makes a difference to Opie for him to have a single cheeseburger. It’s a big deal you have a family to contend with besides the German.
Glasses take two weeks, sometimes 2.5 weeks
When I was truckin' I was always happy to see subway 😅
I love me some Subway.... Other than that God awful smell they frequently get.
Mine is stock on the shifter because I’m a company driver and don’t want to sink a bunch of money into just the shifter and my seat has a little air because it’s a spring loaded truck but the clutch is bearly used
Hi.there 😊
Kurt, Why in the world should anybody care whether you put air in your seat or have a shifter that goes all the way to the ceiling? You ride for your comfort and stop worrying about what other people think. And for those people who sit there and pick apart everything that you do then I have no nice things to say to them. You are a nice person. You have shared a wonderful profession, you have shared your wonderful family and your wonderful dogs. The rest does not matter. You do you boo boo! I hope you have a wonderful day.
Lol
No, they wernt picking me apart. They were just asking questions. My attitude answering them wasn't good.
My freightshaker is doing the exact same thing on the same inside tire same location too 😂😂😂
It's fortunate that your body can tolerate the rough ride of an 18-wheeler. My back can't. The constant up and down movement of the air ride seat helps keep me focused. I don't think I would like a tall shifter. My knees love automatic transmissions. Safe travels truck driver. 😊
❤ 2:44
This makes me want to go to Virginia. That's it,i'm leaving early wed.,morning!
Kurt, Use the CHUGGER SNUBBER, you won't bounce. 😮
Hey hey hey! Channel 19 breakah breakah!!!!
you spent a ton of money , it better be running perfect for a couple of weeks lol
I'm in Wichita falls Texas
Don't tell Opie they call them Hot-Dogs.... Thirty years ago I used to haul "Bar-S Classic Jumbo Franks Hot Dogs" just above Seattle, Wa... used to walk around the plant there was pigs going up the ramp to the second story and hot-dogs coming out the first story dock on to the truck... It would usually take about three hours to get loaded, processing the pigs......
I run with no air in my seat for 2 reason, 1st same as u I hate the seat moving all the time, and 2nd I'm tall enough I hate looking out the top of the windshield. If I have no air in mine I look out the middle of the windshield.
