      If they where real addicts they wouldn't have been convinced to not go through with it, especially if they're the types with body dysmorphia these no matter what is said or shown to them they will still get it done and many times people only realise their mistakes once they already fucked up, while some never see anything wrong with how they destroyed themselves. I don't think the people on this video are real addicts, they are beginners in the field so to speak.

      Gosia S that’s why you should never shame people for what they can’t change unless they risk their life for it. She was obviously that insecure. People need to be more aware what they say, you can say their make up isn’t ok because they can easily fix it but you don’t gain or do anything except possible kill someone when telling them that their nose is ugly or etc because the only thing you can expect from doing that is destroying their future and possibly getting them killed.

      o w o Thank you for your thoughtful response. I had cancer that affected my spine and hips and over the course of my lifetime, I’ve had at least 20+ bone surgeries, none of which were elective. There is a risk with every anesthesia event, and it’s been shown the certain anesthetics shorten lifespan, even when the anesthesia and surgery were uncomplicated and successful. For these reasons, I will NEVER subject my body to unnecessary anesthetics and surgery. I’d love to have more than an A cup, love to have that totally flat stomach back after having children, I’d love to fix my chin, but not badly enough to risk my life for it. I couldn’t live with the guilt if I ended up unable to care for my children or if I lost my ability to work simply because I wanted perky breasts. But unless you’ve had serious complications after surgery or really pay attention to the risks, you think it’s no big deal. I agree with you 100%.

    This was hard to watch.. I underwent some cosmetic surgeries in my early 20's and thankfully never had any issues as a result.. by fluke I had a great surgeon who knew his work. Now in my 30's though and having to research having implants etc replaced as you should every 10-12yrs as recommended I find myself questioning my mortality etc more often and now have a fear of doing it.. people need to put more research into these types of choices that we make. Life is short, do what makes you happy..But..do the research, weigh up the risks and make informed decisions..
    I hope this lady lives a long and happy life..

      CARLA LAPPIN hey girl! 😊.. so sorry you had that complication but so glad you're OK! And I so relate to wishing that I'd never had them done.. I love the results of my surgeries but the upkeep and the risks far outweigh those results.. especially long term and especially with breast implants! There's so much added risk with having them redone because you either need an added lift or reduction with scarring or you keep having to go bigger..😑 I haven't made a decision either way yet with having my implant revision but it adds a level of fear that I never had originally. Hindsight is an amazing thing, if I'd known then what I know now then I wouldn't have done it. People definitely need to think long term and not in the moment when it comes to cosmetic surgeries.. and the expense!
      I hope the future is amazing for you and fingers crossed that when the time comes you don't have any more complications 😊x

      I don’t understand why somebody that disregarded a doctors order went to a different country to have surgery when they were told that it wasn’t possible with her BMI as it was, is telling people not to have anything done unless necessary... me having a nose job wouldn’t be necessary as such, but I’d for sure research before it and wouldn’t go abroad if I were able to find the right people over here, ‘because it’s cheaper’, it’s cheaper for a damn reason. For some people cosmetic surgery is necessary, she shouldn’t be blaming cosmetic surgery as a whole for her mistake, but the surgeon she chose in Poland. People are so stupid. The most dangerous part of any surgery is the anesthetic. More people are harmed from this than any other complication. People are beautiful just the way they are. We don't all need to look alike. This lady nailed it - the only people needing plastic surgery are the ones born with a birth defect or burn victims. We need to start embracing aging. Some people need the surgery because of health issues too. I know a number of women who got breast reduction surgery because of back pain among other things. And those who went through the procedure were very happy with it.
      Totally agree - if there is a real issue you're dealing with, go for the surgery if you feel the benefits outweigh the risks. But if you're doing it to "feel better about yourself", I suggest going to a therapist first to deal with whatever insecurities you have BEFORE you make the decision to opt for surgery. If anything, the problem isn't in our body but our lack of self esteem that makes the situation worse.

    Sorry- but this woman would have been better suited to a message about not going abroad for surgery and picking reputable surgeons etc. I feel a better example specific to most people’s conception of ‘cosmetic surgery’ would be more effective, as these surgeries often far less risky than a gastric bypass in the first place so the message is kind of lost.

  • @Kpop_Metalhead
    @Kpop_Metalhead 6 ปีที่แล้ว +16

    Met you were reaching for this one. Cosmetic surgery and gastric bypass are completely different things. Even when you are having enough to get gastric bypass it is extremely dangerous procedure.
    Yes and her case it was completely cosmetics and she was not large enough to get the surgery however most plastic surgeries do not have the same percentage of complications that gastric bypass does.

    That's not the consequences of cosmetic surgery. That's being mean, conceited and shallow
    And clinics in Poland or other Eastern Europ ean ountries have high standards, even higher than some British hospitals. If you do research and pay for a proper clinic, the risk is very low.
    But why on Earth would you pay for looking like a melted plastic doll anyway.

    it's very sad what happened to this woman but this isn't an accurate representation of plastic surgery. she faced the consequences of not listening to her doctors and then going abroad for something that they wouldn't perform on her in her own country bc they knew it wasn't safe. if you want plastic surgery then don't let this video scare you away from it. i had a rhino/septoplasty a month ago and it's been life changing to get rid of the insecurity that plagued me for so long. if you go to a reliable surgeon who you've researched, preferably one that's in your own country (especially if you live in the us bc the regulations are very strict here), and if you LISTEN TO YOUR DOCTOR when they tell you no, then you are going to be fine. what happened to this woman was the result of bad decisions on her part and malpractice on behalf of the surgeon who should be in jail rn. where i live, there are so many amazing surgeons who perform plastic surgery the right way. they won't leave you looking extreme, and if you ask for something extreme then they will tell you no. they care for your health and safety. if you see someone looking extremely fake, it means they went to a bad surgeon. plastic surgery can be life changing even if it's just for cosmetic reasons. we live in a visual world and nobody can deny that looks matter. if you have an insecurity that's bothered you for so long, you have the right to fix it.

      It’s not entirely black and white. For example, if after massive weight loss you had lots of excess skin, however it did not impact you except for cosmetic reasons, it would still be reasonable to remove it. I think what your talking about though is people who get procedures like lip injections or breast implants, which is just frivolous.

      ÖRLOGSKAPTEN #MAKETH-camGREATAGAIN Surgery is not just another option, if someone life is "being destroyed" by such thing, its because they lack selfsteem, and "fixing" that one thing ends up in finding another thing to fix, and so on. Beauty and perfection is in the eye of the beholder, you shouldn't let a complex overcome your life to the point of it "ruining it", if you get go that point you should go to a psychologist before doing any permanent changes you might regret... Also its of course up to the individual, but i wouldn't say 16-20 years old are mature enough to get a surgery. It is a very sensitive issue, of course im not saying lets ban cosmetic surgery, but im trying to make people see it as a last resource rather than just a simple option...

      Miah 101 In my opinion it’s better for your health not necessarily cosmetic because it’s not necessary when there are easy alternatives like the gym. Unlike breast enlargements where you obviously can’t grow your boobs in the gym.
      If the doctors didn’t recommend it then she shouldn’t have done it.
      Since Cosmetic surgeries are usually not denied such as breast enlargement (depending on the size you want) or lip fillers and nose jobs, I’d say anything that is less denied is cosmetics, since it’s a personal problem and not of a high risk like serious surgeries like Gastric bypass.
      On the other hand, if she got Liposuction then I’d consider it cosmetic surgery. Because it is less likely to be denied

I hated the way it looked and it just didn't fit with the rest of my face. I wore glasses just to try and hide it. A few months back, I finally went under the knife and now I'm a completely different person, outside and inside. It's hard but it's worth it.

      Claire Figiolini Some people have surgeries that could be considered cosmetic for medical reasons. Some people need nose jobs because their nose Is crooked in a way they can't breathe through it properly and some people need to have breast reductions due to pain and discomfort and some people get labiaplasty because their labia is so big it hurts. Not all surgeries are the same and not all reasons for surgery are the same.

    • @SeviWate
      @SeviWate 6 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      I got my nose from my dad and like I said, it was just not aesthetically pleasing. Nobody bullied me for it because of the way I managed to hide it and because I was always making jokes about it as well. If my child does not like their nose and it is within reason, I will stand by them and let them have the surgery just like my own parents allowed me to. I couldn't have been happier with my decision and to be honest with you, nobody noticed that I had had cosmetic surgery. They just thought I had lost weight or did my make up differently. If you go to a good surgeon, the change will not be dramatic or over the top. It will be as if you had always had that nose and that's exactly how I feel right now.

Millions of people are having surgeries every day and they don’t go bad. selecting the right doctor, the right facility, and carefully evaluating your procedures, should largely offset this risk. If people want to get elective surgeries, they should not be stigmatized. It’s really a personal matter and choice.

    Gastric bypass is not a cosmetic surgery! Get that straight! It is a major surgery let me say that again. Gastric bypass is a MAJOR surgery. It's not something you can get done and fly home the next day. It's Not a Cosmetic surgery, IT IS A TOOL to help people get down to a normal weight, to reduce high blood pressure reduce the risk of diabetes, reduce the risk of heart disease, reduce gastric reflux and other comorbidities. It is a last chance surgery for some who are dangerously morbidly obese. I can't help but think you are sending the wrong message here. Not to mention flying directly after a surgery is dangerous and probably exasperated the problem. Changes in pressure can be dangerous. Hell you're not even supposed to fly after scuba diving.

    I feel deeply devastated hearing her story, especially for me as a Polish.. knowing that she travels all the way to my home country and trusted a "specialist" from there who let her down just makes me angry. Because of people like that "surgeon", people still think that Poland is a shithole full of unskilled workers... I'm really sorry for what had happened to her, keep fighting for your happiness because we all deserve it! Sending love to all of you!

    Getting Plastic surgery in countries like Poland,the Czech republic or turkey might be really cheap but it can be a total failure. My suggestion is to try to accept yourself the way you are and if you got your whole body redone you might regret it.

    Going abroad to a dodgy doctor for something UK doctors told her NOT to do is drastically different to getting a rhinoplasty or boob job by a trusted doctor in the UK.

    I’ve had nearly 30 surgeries, all for medical reasons but still. Any surgery you have could possibly be fatal, for anyone. I almost died from blood loss when I was 11 for a completely normal surgery I had gone through many times before, you just never know. There are so many things that could go wrong, from medication to anesthesia to cutting veins and nerves.
    I do want several cosmetic surgeries done, the main one would be to cover up my surgery scars, but maybe I should be thankful that I’m too broke to afford it. I would rather have a couple of ugly scars than die because I was too superficial to just accept them.

      Lypo and procedures in foreign countries. People often go to turkey for surgery because it's cheap, but many of the doctors don't actually know what they're doing.

  • @IntoBlackHouse

    I feel like plastic surgery condemning is so 2004... now we are much more open to procedures, especially with instagrams influence, so many people have veneers, microbladed brows, implants, etc.
    The way I see it, if you’re doing the surgery for you, then it’s absolutely fine. If you are doing it for other people and to get acceptance, then think about it long and hard, because you probably won’t stay happy and the empty feeling is something you need to work on more within yourself than on the outside.
    Also we need to remember our view of plastic surgery is biased from where we come from. In some parts of the world it’s merely seen as improvements and not changing who you are, just like hair extensions, makeup, and teeth whitening are seen here in North America.

  • @elsaafox
    @elsaafox 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Some people will research and listen to professionals, and she didn’t.

      Agreed - it's one thing if she was given the go-ahead and something happened. But no, she didn't listen to her doctor because she has serious self esteem and body image issues. Went out of the country (I'm sorry but not all countries have proper standards and regulations in place!), and the doctor there screwed up!
      If you have to get plastic surgery to correct an actual issue (due to an accident, health issue or birth defect), I understand that. But if it's only because you want to look "perfect", shut the hell up and go see a psychotherapist to get rid of your insecurities.

  • @f4iry431
    @f4iry431 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    The thing with plastic surgery is that if you need it to feel confident, do it, but not to extent where you do it over and over again to get the “perfect” look.

    The things I’ve ever considered getting done is a nose job and possibly leg lengthening. I’d also get Botox and stuff but that isn’t really surgery. The Nose job will benefit my mental health. The leg surgery would make me look more proportional. Willing to healthily discuss if anyone has anything to say, not willing to argue. :)

    I am actually so happy I watched this video. It makes it clear all the people who ask for a.cosmetic surgery only need to start to love their body. All of them are beautiful and don't need the operation. All they need is someone who tells them they are unique and beautiful in many ways.

    • @Ikaros23
      @Ikaros23 ปีที่แล้ว

      It has nothing to do with the body. But all to do with a mind that`s warped by trauma/anxiety and manipulated by marketing. My guess is that there is alot of people who has told them that they are beautiful, but this don`t matter if a person has mental issues. That is they need to fix the brain not the body. They need to spend all the money on a therapist, and do work for years on their mind. But most people are brainwashed to belive that confidence can be fixed by external things like love from others, consumeing, and so on. These things are never going to fix a mind that has anxiety/trauma

    I'm glad they included a man in this, because as much as you might hear otherwise both genders feel the pressure to look perfect and many people want to go down the route of surgery. On a slightly different note, I somehow feel it isn't humans who cause this pressure. I've never met a human who doesn't think surgery is a bad idea and that everyone should learn to love themselves the way they are, I think we've somehow got it in our minds that this is how everyone sees us even though you'll be hard pressed to actually find one of those people.
