    I stated LGA 1151when I should have stated LGA 1200 (Z490m).

    This video reconciled me with the human race. I am 58 years old and I decided to build my first pc by myself. I shopped all of the components and did a lot of research to make sure everything was compatible. I messed up installing the cpu cooler. The 2 parts suppliers (INTEL and Newegg) didn't even try to help me. This video showed me the procedure very clearly and even if I really don't understand well english, I managed to assemble my beautiful FULL RGB PC. Thanks a lot ! Lise

      @@PC_HardwareTechUnboxing_1 i have looked at so many videos it shows how you put the cooler on but never the argb
      now i do know how to do it but there are others will have a blank page if they bought a new motherboard and not looked at the manual online
      also twocents never shown where they would go

    Man this was so helpful. Instead of panic watching it when I got stuck I wished I had just watched it a few times before hand. I really struggled with getting the screws lined up. The instructions say to move them all towards the center for lga1200, so I did that, but nothing lined up. It's really more of a gentle brute force to get them in place.
    I had turned off hyper boost before putting this cooler on because I was hitting 100c by just opening visual studio. Now I'm maxing at 75c during benchmarks with hyper boost back on.
    Thanks so much!

    • @PC_HardwareTechUnboxing_1
      @PC_HardwareTechUnboxing_1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Since there are so many diffferent CPU Coolers and patents for these companies to work around, you will see quite a few different styles of back plates. That said, there are quite a few that are compatible with each other....some of better quality than others. You may find the same thread/thread height...and one is made of plastic and the other of steel. But as you noted...using the OEM's backplate is probably the wisest.

    • @PC_HardwareTechUnboxing_1
      @PC_HardwareTechUnboxing_1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are so many different types of base plates with threaded posts. If the one you have is just visible than most likely it is threaded the same and you will be able to use it. I have so many cpu coolers I do occasionally forget which base plate goes with which cooler and sometimes you just get lucky.
