Damn...this episode...a little therapy session for you all! Stay until the end for the discussion!
It was a warm water 150mph hurricane
"You have family from India visiting and you find out 20 minuets before." The immigrant kid experience is UNIVERSAL
Nah bro....sounds like an Indian issue.
@@iskywalking420nope im Haitian and had the same issues lol
Weird...im Persian and never experienced that. We had a LOT of gatherings and unexpected visits...but we were always prepared. And Ive never experienced any guests or especially family behaving in such an ungrateful manner. Its unheard of in our culture. The guests do TOO much and want to help with everything. Interesting none the less.
@@thedarkknight2221 We have a saying, "tarroff".....its a tough one to translate but it stems from being TOO polite. Persians have a tendency to be over polite in social situations. For example if you're out eating, everyone INSISTS that they will cover the bill, or they INSIST that they will help with the cleaning etc.... and that goes for everything.....any type of inconvenience, people will insist on helping. When it comes to who will have the first or last bite, everyone stops and insist that "no no please, YOU go ahead".... we make fun of it ourselves yet we still do it (especially older people).
Same with Nigerians.
I have never seen an episode that made the whole couch so angry. Seeing all of them squirming in their seats, and Rana taking off the money chain when the FEMA check was revealed? 😂😂😂😂😂
I always enjoyed this episode, idk why they had a hard time watching it. I can understand being a little annoyed, but that's all.
@@GabrielOsiuhwupeople have gone through this. Second hand embarrassment
@@GabrielOsiuhwuBecause they are people who have gone through this
When my cousins moved up during Katrina it was…EXACTLY like this😂
Mum had to gather everyone in the basement for a “Family Meeting” to set some much needed boundaries!
Too bad you didn't have an Uncle Ruckues! Lol
@@thedarkknight2221 yes, thank you for asking. We came to a mutual agreement/understanding to respect each other’s boundaries.
a wide range of ethnicities all experiencing traumatic child hood memories at the same time. truly beautiful lmao
"wiDe rAnGe" ?? LMFAO
@@mt570 I count 4, it's 4 times the usual, whats your problem?
yes lol
@@mt570yes of the top of my head you have an Eastern European, a Jordanian, an Indian and a black person.
I think one of them is also Pakistan but idk.
Navi was goin through ptsd
This episode encapsulates the biggest frustration of when family comes to visit, and no truer words have been spoken then, this statement here:
16:50 "I hate families sometimes."
Navi Kaur, 2023.
Wasn't expecting this to be a whole therapy session from the group 😂😂😂😂😂😂. Loved this reaction
Navi was going through it this reaction lmaooo
Navi had it with this episode lol
Navi took this episode hard.
Yeah I never really liked this episode and its just because I hate the katrinians in the episode but Navi for sure was reliving some PTSD
@@DanielGonzalez-vo5ninow I’m curious 🧐 ptsd?
Honestly, I felt really bad. In a twisted way, it does give me a small feeling of comfort knowing everyone also has a terrible family but knowing hers straight up ghosted her after she helped them is *wild.*
Facts lmao 😂
Means post traumatic stress disorder. Obviously her family has scarred her mentally when it comes to familial refugees
i love how everybody onthe couch can relate to grimey ass family that mooches off you at every turn lmao
Damn this episode hit closer to home for the couch than even I would've expected.
I lived in Houston, when hurricane katrina hit, many kids from New Orleans ended up in my highschool. This is hood/ghetto high school full of drugs, gangs and sex and all of from Houston, even texas and other states like (cali and NY) hated kids from New Orleans, we made sure they had their own table and didn't mess them or their would be so many fights at lunch time.
@@InugamiTheHound Also from Houston and yeah there were so many fights between New Orleans kids and Houston kids at my school. Crime shot up all over the city, that time period was all bad.
A hundred percent
@@InugamiTheHound Nah we(NY) didn’t hate kids from New Orleans.
@@InugamiTheHound as a Katrina survivor who moved to texas, thats pretty fcked up bro. But we saw there was a lot of targeted hate against us while dealing with losing our entire worlds and then being ostracized by the government and fellow citizens alike is why we describe it as being refugees in our country. Ppl going through such life altering events will not come without some drawbacks. But to punish them for it is some different level stuff. I was bullied for being homeless and poor coming to Texas after losing everything
The pain of large families.
Shit sucks sometimes.
I gave my brother a place to stay while he was looking for a job. All I asked while he was looking for a job was to clean. He made a mess. Ate a months worth of food in a week. It was so bad. After about a few months, I called my mother and told her to take him back because I couldn't stand it.
4:47 That sigh was the moment I knew Chris and I had a lot more in common than just being two black men about the same age with the same interests named "Chris".
Love y'all like play cousins!
Good to know we all have some family that's this terrible 👌🏾
Haha! I can relate to Nevi, because to this day I’m that single uncle that has a home and what not but when it comes to my cousins. I cleaned the whole house for them and told them, you can stay as long as you want’ and I just let it go, I let their kids draw on the walls and break some mirrors and just walk around like I don’t give a f*ck! Then when they call my parents or their parents saying ‘cousin’ doesn’t take care of himself and he smokes and drinks and only takes a shower once a week! And they tell them ‘Well, that’s your cousins house and that’s how he lives he pays his own bills, what are you doing?’ I grew up ghetto, but I worked my ass for my own house, and I seriously let my nieces and nephews bring in a pony and their favorite chicks. To this day I’m always told ‘They don’t want to invite you’ but I’m like, whatever you wanna have a bonfire in my back yard?! 😂
I actually lived in with my cousins while my house was being fumigated and worked on, it was cramped and I could tell they wanted us out, so while we did do our part and helped out we still left early and lived in my current house with no AC and electricity for a 2 months, In Florida. We now made sure we’d never live like that again, reinforced house and a gas powered generator, now they come to us when they have no electricity during hurricane season.
Navi's reaction I felt that. This episode definitely hit hard on some real sh!t. We all got family members that drive us insane lol talk about PTSD man it goes to show alot of family are similar.
This is why I'm not on social media and don't give out my number. I have several relatives like this and I need to avoid them at all costs. Thing with my family was when my Mom let her cousin stay for a while.....until she found him smoking crack.
Jericho getting that $200k check is a heck of a head start..that was 2008 and with inflation today that would be almost 300k
Knowing people like Jericho, he probably knows what to put on government forms so that he could get more than what he should get.
plus the housing market back then in the South wasn't as crazy high as it is now back then you could get a 5 bed home on 3 acres or more with that much
Watching everyone getting stressed out reminds when I first watched this episode way back when 😂😂 still feel anxious but I can laugh
The older you get.
The more this episode pisses you off.
It's still funny to me
@@GabrielOsiuhwu definitely funny asf. I just mean how you’re annoyed for the freeman’s
@GabrielOsiuhwu we know azzhole
You reminded people multiple times
As someone who also deals with lazy, mooching relatives on a semi-regular basis, I relate to this episode *SO* hard, lol. 😅
The fact that we all have relatives who would do this.
I concur that this particular episode served as a therapeutic session.
Yoooo my family did the same ish with me. I'd come home one day after a long day of school and sports looking to relax only to meet a bunch of strangers in our house and my dad would be like "Hey just so you know, this is family from Haiti coming to stay with us for a few months". NOT EVEN A WARNING
I remember one of my little cousins that came was so obsessed with disney channel at the time, she would hide the remote so that we couldn't change the channel...
yep can relate lol
I believe you. "Shantal" is in your username, definitely haitian lol@@ShantalhaitianPrincess
Cedric the entertainer & lil Wayne is the this episode big shoutout for them
Jericho beating up Ruckus is the best part
Lil Wayne’s voice acting in this episode is so good 😂 it’s super natural and feels like they just pulled him off the street and put him in the booth
Lil wayne is very talented
This might be one of my least favorite Boondocks episodes but the bare fact that they got Lil Wayne to voice the Boondocks version of himself saves it completely 🤣
Also *please have a full couch next week*
I was just gonna say its probably my least favorite episode too especially because I never watched "S4"
@@DanielGonzalez-vo5ni In my opinion, it's worse than anything in season 4
@@DanielGonzalez-vo5ninever watched s4 but this is basically one of my least favorite episodes
@@NinjaDude6040damn. I almost need to rewatch Season 4. To be honest… I only remember that Michael B. Jordan episode
Too real?
As someone who is from New Orleans, this is almost exactly how it was. A terrible time
Forget the money Robert, their out of your house, that's the blessing. Also I have experienced something very similar to this.
I kinda want revenge for Robert, Huey, and Riley. They deserve money from Jericho.
I see both sides of this reaction and I feel Navi’s pain just listening to her and everyone
And I hate the fact that the news people just put words in the peoples mouth when they are trying to explain something
To answer the question of where they live, Woodcrest is supposed to be a suburb of Baltimore
this reminds me why I can’t be too nice even to family. 😭 the slippery slopes that occur in these type of situations are overbearing
Wow Pat and Navi been through it daaaamn

@@ShantalhaitianPrincess nah its everywhere in the fast food industry in the USA
As a Mexican with over 500 family members I can tell you that... MY FAMILY IS AWESOME! EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM!
Lucky 😭
@@ToBeKing Definitely lucky. We have family reunions where we setup multiple baseball and volleyball teams and all have fun. Grandmother got bed ridden and every single family member from across the country would come visit with their whole family and take care of her for weeks taking turns or bringing her to their homes for an entire month doing everything for her. Had family members go through a Tornado and destroyed half of their home. All my uncles (10+) even the ones only related by marriage came together and rebuilt a new home on the property. Electricians redid the wiring and plumbers did all the piping. Mechanics gathered parts to rebuild a car for use.
My grandparents heavily focused on teaching family unity and it carried down the line. This Christmas we pretty much took up the entire park to have hundreds of family members partying together and gift exchanges. Despite everyone living all the way from California to Florida and gathering in South Texas.
Somehow I KNEW The Normies were gonna be triggered by this episode 😂😂😂😂😂
Marketa was dying in parts of this episode, and for Navi she was spot on it this!
Did Navi just say Weezy's Mona Lisa is a new song? Lmao..that song is 5 years old bruv
lmao rana its either drown or possibly get hit with debris pick one. also i think she was thinking of a tornado
family has hurt navi in a deep way lmao
Jericho fighting Ruckus is some good ass fan service
Rukus ain't shit, but lol, he also ain't lying lmao

I love listening to the ladies going off.
You know its real!
This touched a hard spot but its real. Lolol.
Pat and Suraj would 100% be the kinda idiots to think a football game was rigged because of a hurricane lol
This Boondocks journey you guys have been going on has made me realize one thing.... Indian folk and black folk seem to have a lot in common and none of it is good 😂😂😂
And the entire time... Marketa is just laughing at us 😂😂
But they hate us lmao
@@mehoo8 yeah some do... But that doesn't negate the fact that our experiences are similar... If anything it just shows how asinine it is to dislike someone because of their race.

It's even worse when your parent(s) expect you to baby sit literal adults and then said parent(s) have "errands" to run all day.
Navi was TRIGGERED 🤣🤣
Rana's a part of the Lethal Interjection Crew!
LOL Navii's experience kinda mirrors mine (and it's happened many times). But were you to ask her if she relived it and had a choice, she'd probably do the same thing all over again. I'll just say the same thing a friend once said to me: "Someday you're surely gonna be blessed". Yeah, I know. It's a Southern thing.
You guys reaction to this episode is priceless 😂😂🤣🤣
I like that Chris is helping push Mickey. Just something I noticed in this video after watching Mickey’s recent one.
Don't know what y'all talking about. I like this episode
This episode was funny to me. Like boondocks is supposed to be problematic
I don't think they thought it wasn't funny, but they could identify 100% and were triggered. The comedy cut too close! LOL!
@@GabrielOsiuhwuit's not about it being problematic they know it's problematic it's just that this show is supposed to be relatable because this s*** really does happen to a lot of black people. Comedy in this show reflects real life. It's just very interesting that a lot of people can understand
Late to the party but it’s ok. I was waiting for y’all to drop! Keep it coming 💯💯
family trauma really transcends race/culture 😂

Mona Lisa on Carter V was like 8 projects ago Navi😂😂 but this episode traumatized you. We'll allow it
The boondocks is a classic. I remember buying seasons 1&2 on dvd back in 08’.
1 more episode before my favourite episode of the season.
Nice reaction yall ✌
I love Normies lore 🤣🤣
Navi traumatized
Ced the Entertainer funny as hell lol
I have 13 i said 13!!!!! half-siblings from my dad's side. I have two older siblings from my dad's side. a bunch around my age. and the rest are younger. for two years straight after Pop died. I'd get hit up by those siblings asking for money, and a chance to come to America. these are siblings who refused to work. got wrapped up in gang shi* and were posting pics of dead bodies on FB. My older sister deleted all her social media. After all, they were coming out of the woodwork because they couldn't mooch off of Pop's estate anymore and the eldest who inherited everything kicked a bunch of them out. my mom called me up and chewed me out for not wanting to help any of them. then I sent her the pictures and the shiz they were posting. and she changed her number the next day. I never got an apology tho!!!!
Is it weird that Riley was kinda right. I feel dirty for saying that but yeah
No because he had a point😂 just because people are blood related doesn't mean that they have your best interest in things
@brandyjohnson738 to be fair, i think Riley was mostly just looking out for himself. He didn't really care about anything else.
Did anyone on the couch notice that Jericho was voiced by Cedric the Entertainer?
I can't wait til they get to the Uncle Ruckus Reality Episode, the S Word and the Jimmy rebel episode! 😂😂
Anxiety is what we Black people feel around 🥷
I loved this reaction so much
Navi & Rana were heated
100% agree--if family is coming to visit for just a week or two, of course I wouldn't expect or make them clean up or have to get a job or help with bills, as they are a visiting guest.
But if they are gonna be staying, for months? Hell yeah, you are gonna be pitching in. Either you get a job, or help take care of the house and kids. Otherwise gtfo
2:37 Damn, three different stares at once
Watching the post-episode discussion, it's interesting that the concept of "Black Tax" seems to only apply to immigrant families.
Poor Navi
Wild how Lil Wayne's in this ep😭🤣
The show is set in Maryland based on woodcrest Baltimore county Maryland and Columbia Maryland where Aaron mcgruder grew up. The comics establish it too and tho we don’t often have them we have had them here
The couch cringe is so hilarious and entertaining!
Aye Suraj, don’t argue with Black people about Kanye pre 2010ish 😂
I’m sayin 😂😂😂😂😂
@@dreamshakejunya yea you’re not gonna have a good time 😂😂

Great reaction! What an episode, it always gets me mad!
We did not win the SB "2yrs later" Katrina was '05 we won the SB in the '09 season 5yrs later hardly anyone not from Louisiana even cared anymore. Funny people wanna claim rigged(w/o even getting basic facts right but what do you expect from baseless claims?)
It'd make more sense to think the season after Katrina was *rigged* since we made but lost in the conf championship our 1st appearance to the Bears who'd go on to lose to the Colts. I think people who aren't conspiracy nuts just didn't think the great Manning could lose.
But if us winning 5yrs later was rigged(makes no sense imo anyway) then Boston Red Sox winning the same season as the marathon bombing screams rigged, last place the previous season and made improbable comebacks in both the championship series and world series, Houston Astros also won their 1st one the SAME season as Hurricane Harvey.... these other's can win the same season and it's normal but we win 5yrs later and it's rigged? Lol if we were mediocre that season it could make sense but anyone who idk watched the games would know he dominated the entire season it was the 1st time both #1 seeds made the SB in 16yrs. We had the #1 offense and a defense that forced takeaways every game we weren't some middle of the road team who went on a Cinderella run. The best 2 teams were playing that SB we started 13-0 Colts 14-0, 2 things helped us win over anything else. 1. The surprise onside kick to start the 2nd half, and Peyton Manning throwing and INT when you need him to just as he does. He certainly isn't perfect or did we forget his next performance throwing more pick 6's in the blowout vs Seattle? Or the next performance which is a contender for *rigged* where he would've been benched the 2nd half of the season were he not Peyton Manning and limped into the playoffs being carried by that defense which also won him that game Von Miller being MVP while Manning wasn't even a game manager?
"This is exaggerated and mean!" Nah, it really wasn't on so many levels. The bail outs where extensive...
This was one episode I always skipped over when rewatching the series. Possibly my worst Boondocks episode. Maybe cause it hit too close to home.
Navi is precious
Love seeing that having free-loading family members is something everyone experiences lol. 😂
Cedric the Entertainer smoked this role
Happy new year 🎊
Man I hated this episode and looking at it again I still hate it. And at the end Jericho just freeloaded his cousin and left with the F.E.M.A. check wtf...
I'm sure most of you were on Uncle Ruckus side when they left. 😂😂😂😂😂
