- Man, this episode really does hit too close to home. The Boondocks Season 3 Episode 13 predicted the pandy, and they got real close for something that aired 10 years prior to everything going down. The Normies review and discuss the episode after the reaction.

This is the episode where i feel the most bad for Huey, he legit tried to do everything in his power to protect his family. And Riley and Grandad did everything in their power to fuck it up.
It's not the first time they've done it either. It's just the first time it was legit on a major scale.
@@Crimson_Titanvery very true
7:33 "But why?" "Cutie pie!" Perfect response for grandad's defense AND bars all in one. I love it
That dude dancing with the drumsticks like maracas with the clucking music in the commercial had me rolling
Daniel Cormier reference?
Actually I think this episode came out before that so never mind lol
@@lilgabriel0517it's a reference to a commercial for kfc from 2009 where a guy danced around holding drumsticks
Something I found hilarious about the doomsday preppers is how they always let everyone know that they're a prepper and have supplies at home. Basically asking to be raided in an actual doomsday scenerio
😂 Thats what guns are for 🤣
I dare you to try to raid a preppers house
@@notgiven 🤣 yeah anyone can buy a gun, but a prepper will have stocked up on ammo.
An your bonus fun fact let's me know you have no know of tactics or history, as it takes 3-5 times the number of defenders to attack a fortified position and even then success is not guaranteed... next time please do some actual research.
@tillmen4444 the point though is that they're inviting everyone to steal their supplies 😅 . They're asking to be raided when that wouldn't have to happen if they weren't letting everyone know they were preppers. If they shut their mouths then a gun fight, that could result in their deaths most likely wouldn't ensue
@@BobPantsSpongeSquare97 You saw how Huey handled raiders expect the same in reality, people who announce they are preppers are the ones looking for all the smoke and are ready for it
This episode was based on the big flu outbreak in the late 2000s. So it didn’t really predict the 2020 pandemic, it just tackled an older one.
Exactly nobody realizes, these things been happening for years now even back in the early 20th century
Did they say it predicted Covid? it felt like they said it refrenced the Popeyes Chicken Sandwich thing for the most part.
@@poppatato4183 8ts because food frenzies been a think where some food comes out that is really good then people line up for miles for
The 2009 Bird Flu. I was in college at the time, in Missouri, and students were locked in their dorms, people were dying, we got like 300 vaccine doses for 30,000 students and faculty, we were masking, yes, in middle America in St Louis in 2009, we we're doing the 'cough into your arm' and hand sanitizer stations appeared in front of every door.
IN 2009. Talk about a dress rehearsal for 2020.
@@SupportGamin2025you never heard a joke or a meme? 😂😂
Although it was always subtle in the show’s run, this episode really did solidify Huey and Jazmine’s relationship to me. Despite how cut throat blunt Huey can be, the fact that he’s completely willing to make extra plans just for Jazmine is just so sweet❤️
Also, of course, this ep was a prime example of how nobody *ever* listens to Huey until after the fact.
Not even after
@@primepm8861 I know, right? Things like that pisses me off every time because how long does it take for some people or, at least, someone to finally comprehend the situation and listen some basic instructions that could save their life? Plus, no matter how many disasters we encounter, one after the other, everyone still doesn’t take any form of precautions or be prepared for anything that could happen. Unfortunately, that’s the pitiful reality we live in: with events like this one happening all the time, we just get used to it that, we get careless and became ignorant as a result. If mankind doesn’t survive the next extinction-level event just because, wouldn’t surprise me, not in the slightest.
That's basically every episode where Huey gets to speak
Huey is pro black and Jasmine is black and more importantly she’s his friend
The editor’s White Castle comment had me dead! 😂😂
I was looking for this comment 😂
I'm gonna tell my future children that this episode was a documentary about 2020. 😂
Love how Sarah’s actress voices the woman complaining about no chicken, the drive through worker giving an unsatisfiying response to the lack of chicken, and the woman crying about not being able to feed her child due to no fried chicken. That’s Tom Kenny’s (voice of SpongeBob) wife playing all those characters, she’s the voice of Plankton’s computer Karen. I remember in the commentary of the first season she talked about having to play black extra characters, despite being white as can be.
I remember Gary Anthony Williams saying she (Jill Talley) was the blackest white woman he'd ever met 😂
@@yungjj84ha! Nice
its crazy 2020 was 4 years ago. mfs was hoarding guns, toilet paper, soap, everything. people thought it really was gonna be mad max out in these streets
It was crazy back then
Mannn has it been that long? It seems like yesterday when I was working at Walmart as a "essential worker" and as soon as I brought out a pallet of toilet paper I had a gang of mfers grabbing and attacking it like zombies, couldn't even stock it lol
@@LovelyAutoRace-hh2gu it was black friday everyday for yall but instead of tvs it was cleaning products lol

Fun and hilarious episode.
Huey: I'm keeping this Group together!
That lady talking about feeding her chicken is apart of an actual interview in like 2017 they did about Popeyes running out of chicken.
After surviving an Ebola outbreak 5 years earlier, I was generally miffed about people panicking about C-19 in 2020... especially as there were ongoing outbreaks of Ebola and Lassa fever in 2 of the most highly populated countries in Sub-Saharan Africa at the same time.

"How did they predict this?"
Scientists and other experts have been warning about how the world isn't prepared to deal with a large, wide-spread pandemic for a *very* long time now, and given Aaron McGruder's focus on political issues I'd be willing to bet he's the kind of person who would have been listening to those scientists and experts. Just about anybody could have predicted a massive pandemic if they were paying attention.
I think most people recognize that something was coming this evening in the Bible. A lot of scientists are trying to downplay this kind of thing but in reality when it hits everybody gets surprised and they should have been listening.
They didn’t predict anything, this just happens ALL THE TIME
Facts I never understood how or why people in general think the boondocks is some kind of prophetic show
@@SupportGamin2025 Because these people don't actually follow current events, only things that trend or certain media channels. The whole episode is literally based around events that already happened. It was a parody of those.
I had never heard of anything like this chicken frenzy happening until the new popeyes chicken sandwich came out lol
Its a joke💀
TheNormies really do be stupids sometimes, thinking nothing happened unless its new
3:35 the big smoke reference kills me every time 😂
3:21 also damn the editor didn’t have to do all that 😭
This wasn't based on the chicken sandwich. It was a cheap chicken deal for their anniversary that everybody and their momma was lined up for. And then they ran out of chicken. People lost it!
What's crazy is the Popeyes chicken sandwich came first in 2019 then Corona 2020.
This...
The Boondocks reaction I’ve been waiting for!!
Same
12:35 Navi looks defeated 😂😂
Then you realize Thugnificent's last song was 'Dick Ridin' Obama.'
It actually was his auto tune song
Nahhhh Suraj you have some more explaining to do I’m not letting you get away with the Whataburger slander like that. Where did you eat it at? What did you order?
0:04 - Rana reacting to the high pitched voice lmfaoooooo
Ah yes, my favorite episode. I first watched boondocks during the height of covid. It predicted that, the Popeyes chicken sandwich, and allowed nearly every character on the show to shine 😂
Idk why I thought this episode aired way earlier.
"Usually somebody read to me" always wheezes me up😂
This episode never fails to make me incredibly hungry
We had that Popeyes sandwich in the early 90's. The young think everything is just happening now😂
Really?
"How'd they predict this shit?"
they didn't. we're just on repeat. one of the most famous quotes in cinema is "A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it." from Men In Black. and that was '97.
OF COURSE I WOULD GET A POPEYES AD WHILE WATCHING THIS 🤣🤣
I can’t believe that Navi just said Covid and that’s reason why Rana just sneezed 5:02, so I hope my favorites in this TH-cam channel don’t have any Covid or chicken flu like boondocks, mostly or especially Rana since she just sneezed, so bless you Rana and I hope Navi don’t say Covid again so you don’t sneeze again
This is only from the video decades ago of people mad that Popeyes or something ran out of chicken and random Yt guy was like .. I’ll just get a pizza 😂😂
Sometimes I think Micky is too conspiracy pilled that he's sounding idiotic with his outbursts bruh.
Ofc the movie called Book of Eli about a near-superhuman man protecting a copy of the bible is pro-faith.
Its incredibly reductive to say that it's Christian propaganda to the point that you missed what the movie is saying. Its not even saying religion is good all the time as the main conflict of the movie is that the villain wants it for their own use and the whole reason for the apocalypse was by a religious war causing religious texts being burned.
At the end of the movie, its shown that the Bible is just another book right next to other religious texts such as the Quran & Torah to be preserved. It's not like Eli was given superpowers from god for being a Christian but the faith & will he has gotten out of it in having a purpose cuz Denzel is HIM.
Sorry for yapping but I was so annoyed of the condescension in getting it wrong just because its about religion.
give the guy a break he sat there doing nothing the entire episode he wanted to say something and that was all he had
Beautifully written. I thank you for this
I was JUST about to type out something like this and thought to check first. Nice one. 👏
2:50 I mean how can you say no to jasmine whittle face 😩🥺
5:35 Lmaoo
This actually happened long before Covid. It was about a Fried Chicken Special. It was funny back then. Haha.
I saw this episode in 2021 and I was dying laughing 😂😂😂😂
13:16 ahh there he is he's happy now😊
This exactly what is like when going to Popeyes for a chicken sandwich 🥪 😅
During the pandemic (which I now call Trump Plague, because they want something named after him) my company made face shields and protective aprons, so I worked 😕. Not that I had to, that's not our normal product. But I couldn't sit home and do nothing.
🖖😎👍
Yeah, this episode definitely felt way more Cartoon-Network than Aaron McGruder.
Clearly yall need to have Navi watch Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome
I believe Jasmine and Huey have feelings for each other
2:53 > what about your parents
No worries, they ain't gonna need it.
Chris made a good point about doomsday preppers. They're more focused on the apocalypse but not wanting to fix the problems now to lower chances of that happening.
The Popeyes chicken sandwich era was…interesting
This episode is from 2010, this is based on the McRib.
0:30 “Fried Rana”
My Mexican ahhh hearin’ fried 🐸🐸
They didn't predict Mad Max that came out in 79.
I tried Chic Fil A once. It was their nuggets. It was honestly trash. Give me Wendy's nuggets. Never tried it after that and then learned about all their extra stuff going on. They don't deserve my business. It's not my canceling them. It's them canceling others. I say live and let live. #FChicFilA.
Same....Wendy's nuggets reigns supreme
I was working the streets as a paramedic in NYC during the pandemic.
Technically this predicted the Popeyes chicken sandwich craze, but also COVID
that lady reminded me of when they shut down restaurants & all the karens were asking how they were gonna feed their kids if they cant eat out 💀💀💀
This is episode is based on the McDonald's McRib craze and how the news sensationalizes disasters. A satire reflects the current state of culture. Nothing is being predicted, society just continues to fail to learn from history and repeat it. Like how there was a writer's strike joke in the Catcher Freeman episode back in 2007 and yet it's still relevant in 2024.
Awesome reaction of my favorite episode of The Boondocks!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

The Fried chicken Flu episode it's has to be my favorite episode of The Boondocks.
Popeyes didn't have chicken sandwiches at this time 😕
I waited in a line that long for Krispy Kreme. It was the first one in the Hartford area and everyone wanted to try it. The car line literally went for miles. If I remember correctly it went out of business like a year later.
This was my favorite episode
Saving food and tp is a good thing but im more for sweet peas then green beans....but man the animation is on Point here! But i never would riot over foos...the others not so much
Now I need a Normies end of the world survival skit!
No lie, I empathize with Leonard. When I was a kid, I thought Buffalo could fly.

The Whataburger slander is completely unacceptable, it's top tier fast food (but also extremely not worth waiting 3 hours, it's still just fast food)

Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) and the origin of the COVID-19 pandemic in China. Did you missed the John Stewart take on logical reasons skills before being shunned for it.
The news literally did this during covid lol
So in 2007 there was an e.coli outbreak from bad Chipotle restaurants. It was a lesser variant of the 2020 flu idk. I remember hearing they were related
“CFA is overrated.”
How dare you
Sounds like Fallout, they invested so much they needed the world to end. Also sounds like the prison industrial complex. They also invested so much they need criminal activity to continue.
Thank you Spidey, Chic Fil A chicken is bland with a slightly musty taste. Gotta get spicy and that’s mids
Carzy how covid pretty much went the same way lol. Also popeyes definitely has the best chicken. KFC is always soggy and chick fil a is always dry and bland.
That was about the kfc chicken shortage man lol not the sandwiches
Strange that you didn't react to The Boys S4 official trailer :P
This episode was a reference to when Oprah was advertising for KFC and giving away their grilled chicken in 2009. It caused huge backups at KFC and it got way out of hand.

Wanna know another overrated establishment??? Raisin fuqin Caines. Big disappointment when I first tried it. And I honestly don't know how they always keep a long line to get than non seasoned chicken😒🤣
In N Out >>>>> Whataburger…and I live in Texas. WAB is just a hypebeast Sonic
This episode made me also realize that the entire Government (including the President) will effectively abandon the entire population of the country to die in an end of the world scenario (not kidding about that they literally have plans to do just that). The hilarious thing about that is if say everyone survives and thrives in their own territories can you imagine the reception they'll get when they crawl out of their bunkers and try to take back the positions they had in the old world...let's just say they'll be chased right back underground.
