I think that the Classic Sonic songs from Forces arent terrible but the instruments just hold them back. I wish someone made a imagine of Green Hill but with the Tee Lopes style or other Genesis instruments. There is a part that would work as melancholic section, like Angel Island 2
@Jt'sRoboBlast As much as it could be chalked up to it being a joke that the original miniboss theme sounds like it has a piece of Flying Battery, it feels more or less like it's a reference to Look-alike at this point. Even if it's unintentional; like holy fuck that's amazing how he ended up unintentionally writing in one of the more iconic leitmotifs for Classic Sonic into his original by complete coincidence
I think this is some solid proof that Sonic Forces soundtrack fell short on instrumentation, but that's really about it. In the right hands and with the right arrangement, the tracks in Sonic Forces are just as good as the other great Sonic soundtracks. This is so stanky!! It keeps some energy of the S3 miniboss theme but has the S&K melodic flair and depth. I think it's a fantastic fit for most bosses in the game, which are quite slow-paced and floaty, carrying that "taunting" energy this piece has. At first, I wasn't sure how it'd work for faster-paced bosses, such as Hei Hou and Big Shaker, but...nah, it works well when looking at footage while listening to this. I do think it fits some minibosses better than others; if I had my druthers for my own alternate S&K soundtrack, I'd have two miniboss themes to play for different-feeling minibosses, but that's just me. Another thing! I love your instrumentation. You do a great job at making each instrument stand out with oomph and energy. That's a weak point I find in modern official "Classic Sonic" interpretations. The instruments sound too plain and quiet and samey and just kind of wash together.
Given that i love the egg dragoon theme this is like a wish come true thank you mr. John tay 💗 AND I NOTICED THE CHAOTIX BOSS MOTIF RIGHT AT THE END OF THE LOOP

i really like the verse motif from your FBZ sprinkled in here, esp with the boss from that zone as the image. i can just imagine how it’d feel to play through s3air with the mod for this picked as the miniboss theme for the whole game until you get to FBZ and it’s expanded into that awesome climactic song
As weird as this may sound, this alternate remix gives me heavy early Thomas the Tank Engine vibes. Especially 0:34 onwards, which reminds me of the opening theme ( th-cam.com/video/WF71SaW5gIk/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared&t=43 ).
