as someone who loves that goofy egg dragoon boss theme this is such a delight. Hearing the original melody rearranged when I thought it was just going to loop got me so pumped

I always liked the Egg Dragoon theme’s composition from forces, but the way the instrumentation was less than ideal. That being said, it was still one of my favorites. This just… takes it to a whole new level. I can’t even describe how good it is, it’s like all of my dreams of an ideal classic remix would sound like. You NAILED it. Great job.
I agree that the hate on the Classic tracks in Forces is overdone, I personally would love to see them be remixed in a future game. So it's no surprise that you did a great job remixing this for Sonic and Knuckles Alternate.

The tone of this song reflects the unpredictable, and unstoppable nature of Sonic, and the showdown between him, and Eggman. I can just imagine Sonic rampaging through Eggman's creations like an unstoppable force, without fail, as the battle takes place, and Eggman is just trying desperately to destroy that hedgehog, but none of his attempts even get close to phasing Sonic. "Sonic. He's fucking my plans! STOP FUCKING MY PLANS!"

Using the actual Genesis sound format gives the songs the punch they need, especially the S3&K/3D Blast percussion
I get big Undertale vibes from your tracks, probably from how you use leitmotifs or maybe it's the goofy yet threatening aestethic. Either way, absolute PEAK!

To be fair I don't really think about whether Forces compositions are bad or not because I'm more focused on how awful the rest of the game is. I think this turned out pretty good though, so they must've done something right, or if not you certainly did!
I honestly love most of the classic tracks from Forces, I think more of the problem with them is the instrumentation; the melodies themselves are great! It's kind of like how the beta versions of the S3&K tracks sound good originally but the remixes made for Sonic Origins suck; the melodies themselves are great but the instrumentation in the remixes kinda kills them

Yeah nah seriously, this is too goofy. Egg Dragoon would've worked here if it had the relatively menacing tone of the OG Sonic 3's Boss theme. It worked great for minibosses because they were objectively stupid and didn't do much. This piece is too fast and doesn't set the tone for half of the Eggman vehicles are more slow and dangerous than before.
Fun Fact: When I first heard this song, I thought it sounded like a song from Thomas the Tank Engine (specifically the latter half of the Thomas and the Trucks theme).
