No Tojo did not invent the California Roll. The only people who say he did are people from Vancouver who have been mislead. Some guy by the name of Ichiro Mashita in CALIFORNIA invented the dish. Make sense? Why would a guy in Vancouver invent and named the dish after a state 1000 miles away.

like japadog! Went to tojo's but bit over-rated. Prefer sushi garden on kingsway near highgate village burnaby. Not that impressed with body energy club. You can make a better smoothie at home with a good recipe. Would include casa gelato in east van as the place to good for good gelato. Recently in guiness book of records for most flavors. 238 flavors! Also would include fish and chips at english bay or cockney king fish and chips. And the smoking ice cream desserts at myst's on kingsway in burnaby. Jinya ramen was just so so in my opinion

100% agreed. Kintaro ramen / santouka / marutama is much better. Tojo was way too overrated and expensive; any neighbourhood sushi place with fresh ingredients can beat it, or sushi jin for omakase. Myst is a new Burnaby gem!!

I ❤️ the doughnuts, the sushi, the pizza, ramen, French fries, the juice truck, & the pancakes breakfast diner! Yummy! Delicious! So edible, it makes me hungry

List ok, except Tojo. Please stop spreading the lies that he invented the California Roll. Think, why would a guy from Vancouver invent a roll call California. What is his connection to California? Does Avocado grow wild in Vancouver? He claims that he names it after his clients from the US, but do you really believe this far fetch explanation?
