    Coach Lee thank you for this wonderful lesson I just have one question can you say about backhand smash

    • @coachingbadminton
      @coachingbadminton  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I am not keen on backhand smash.
      There is time to use it but not very often. Most time if you do backhand smash and opponent block then you can not get it back.
      That is why I have not done backhand smash yet. It is skill player should be able to do it but not much time to use it in real terms. Lee

    Hi Coach, is the grip for backhand drive the same as that for backhand clear for shuttle taken to the side of the body? I can't see the difference?

    • @coachingbadminton
      @coachingbadminton  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      The grip is different depending on how early and how late you are taking shots. Backhand drive is taken side or bit in front of your body so your grip will be bit different to backhand clear. Lee

    • @coachingbadminton
      @coachingbadminton  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it is. It has to be same grip as you should be able to change the shot without changing grip again.
      When I am making backhand advanced deceptive flick clip, you will be able to see the grip. I will do that soon. Lee

    Awesome Video!How can i approve the strength of my backhand- clear ? I am using the right grip, but the shuttlecock doesn't fly far enough.

    • @coachingbadminton
      @coachingbadminton  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. There are other key factors in backhand clear, steps, timing, arm movement, impact skill, impact point, the way your wrist is using, power of your fingers. So you need to spend some time to train all and soon your clear will go far. Lee

    Dear Lee,
    as usual great video. I am able to do the backhand clear to the side of my body & in front of the body because of your guidance.
    I still find it tough to clear when the shuttle is behind me already.
    One more difficulty is I am not able to time properly when the pace is high. Any special practice needed?
    Thanks.

    • @coachingbadminton
      @coachingbadminton  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Only way is to get used to the pace and try not too allow the shuttlecock to be behind your body. Find way to male shuttlecock side of your body when you are late. Lee

      Before you try to get strong and fit for smash, it is better to understand the skills first and master the skill.
      After that you can do training for your wrist, fore arm, shoulder, legs, timing and cordination of all part of your body. Please view the skills and let me know if you have any questions. Lee

    • @coachingbadminton
      @coachingbadminton  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Coaching Badminton I use the normal backhand grip. My thumb on the sides intersects the V shape of a forehand grip. My coach said that my backhand is strong. So I'm happy with it without changing my grip. But I need to work on my footwork better.
