This is timely - I was just reflecting on how I should deal with my weak backhand (recovering from a broken wrist 😞) and here you are! Thanks, I'll try your tips tonight!
I absolutely love all your videos, long or short😁! And I'm really benefiting from the weights programme 💪 Could you consider doing a short warm-up one and short cool down one that we can follow along with you, please? I use the ones you've done where you explain all the exercises, but if I could do them with you for 10 mins or so before a practice, that would be fab:) Thanks, guys 🙏
As a student from china, i have to say your pronunciation is so wonderful for listening practice. And lots of thanks for everything i have learnt form your channel:) devoting all my coins to your videos on bilibili
Hi same here. I also don't need to turn in the CC
Thank you very much, that's so nice to hear! 😃
Do chinese have internet or admission to access youtube ?
bro, of course they have the internet, wtf. you can access TH-cam with a VPN. @@minhkhoinguyenuc1123
I don’t mind the shorter format! It’s nice and concise, great job!
Ah that’s good to know! Thanks 😃
@@BadmintonInsight Short or long - they're all brilliant! 🙂
Watched your game with Zheng/Huang. The 1st game was so close that the final 1 point was just hard to convert. I saw you've tried to serve with various placements including some flick serves. The result was quite good. Great effect. Thanks for the videos as always.
Thanks! Yes we were so close to winning the first set 😢
@@BadmintonInsight You two were awesome in that game - I think you really forced them to wake up! Keep on improving - you're getting there ....
This is such a helpful video, players love to target my backhand in matches. The service tips to help set up your partner is also very nice. Can’t wait to try it in my future games 😊
Always helpful and technical videos! Learned a lot from you guys.
I really struggle with this so this video was insanely helpful for me. Thanks! ❤
Another very practical and insightful video. Thank you.
Cheers guys, always great content, thanks!
Simple and easy to implement . Thx for the video !
Hey Greg and Jenny , excellent video thank you for sharing. I used to stand biased towards my backhand side for this reason however the better opponents I’m playing with are pushing serves to the forehand corner now😮 what has worked for me overall to cover most replies well is actually to stand very close to the server , this allows me to intercept more of the service returns and essentially cut off the ones that try to push into those back corners. That along with keeping my racket at net level seems to help me the most. What do you think of that ?
Anyways great video as usual 😊
Brilliant video. Love it, great videos again and again. Well done both.
I’d love a video on rear court footwork techniques or drills to improve rear court movement for doubles.
Thank you
Thanks a lot 😃 It’s coming soon!
Love your videos so much they explain complex steps in simple words. I have been playing this game for 2 years and you people are my role modals. I hope I get to play with you guys one day.Btw I live in India and a lots of love from India

this video completely changed my playstyle & I'm loving it.
Awesome 😃 that’s great to hear!!
I usually try to stand up high because that's what good players tend to do, but if the midcourt isn't being played to by opponents at that level, I guess there isn't much point. Going to try move my starting position back and see how it works. Great vid!
Thanks a ton for this video!!! This has been a problem for me since I started about a year ago. Now off to practice these points starting tomorrow !!! :)
You’re welcome! Good luck 😃🏸
Hi Greg an Jennie, please could you do a vid solely about tournament advice ie what to bring, match preparations etc, as I think it would be a great opportunity to learn from people as experienced as you guys! Thank you! and great vid!

What type of grip should we prepare for playing a shot that an opponent returns a serve to our backhand side?

Great, very useful tips!

Thanks for the video 😊
You’re welcome 😃🏸
Reading yoyr opponent's receiving stand is the first thing our coach taught us in the adult class of my club!
It's very enlightening and feels great when you predicted exactly where the shuttle will go.
Tip 1 is the best illustration.
For us the amateur players, perhaps that's the most important skill to learn.
Reading a server's stand is also a good thing to do to anticipate the sort of serve you can expect - a lot of players tend to give away how they'll serve.
you know its a good day when these guys upload a new vid!!!
🙌🙌😀😀
Nice vedio guys would like to see more of your matches in the future
Most help full video
Just today my opponent kept on hitting flat shots and lifts to my backhand. Thanks for this video and the backhand one as well. I'm gonna try these things.
Thank you for this! Truly game changing!
I have a video idea, a game analysis on why Chen/Jia are so good lately. Not only has Jia ascended and achieved god level smashing, she also improved her movement a lot and covers Chen so well. And Chen is so creative with her placement shots which deserve to be studied. I dont often enjoy watching womens doubles but Chen/Jia's gameplay lately have been inspiring.
Chen has also quietened down a lot so she's more likeable as a player to watch. She used to rival Marin for noise!
@@stevemawer848hahaha that is true! No wonder I enjoy watching her matches more now.

I skipped 5 ads videos to watch this... What a valuable video it is, a nd sorry for your lost against zheng/huang maybe next time you'll get them 😊
5 ads?! Wow! Thanks a lot 😃
@@BadmintonInsight by the way I got the same racquet as yous but mine handle is plastic with whites... coz I'm a fan of the greatest frontcourt player in the universe "Hendra satiawan" 😁, I love your videos... I take it as a coaching videos n it helps me a lots now, thanks guys keep up the good work 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Great video.
I have a video request. I think sometimes your videos reflect that you have the facilities to train a lot, and someone to train with, and I am sure that is the case for some, but for many of us that is not the case, we have no time to prepare for a match against a certain player, no one that will feed us and endless stream of shoots for practise and so on.
I think it would be very useful to have something like 5 thing to quickly go over in your head during the first rallies in a match to better play your opponent and "think on your feet"
Also maybe how to best test you opponent, like lure them forwards or backwards during your serve to see how well they adapd. What do I know. I am no expert.
You may be no expert, but you're thinking along the right lines already! Spotting your opponents' weaknesses is key to outplaying them, so the sooner you test them, the sooner you'll be scoring against them.
Which racquet are you guys using
yoo i was just looking for this video and i think youtube read my brain
The trademark shot of LinD which he plays around the knees.
Hans Vittingus which he played against LCW while running away from the net.
Nice i face the same problem with my partner! thanks for the info! 🤩
A lot of people do! Hope they help you 😃
As a left handed new player, this is where opponents take point from me in double..
Thank you so much
@badmintoninsight Hey guys I’ve been playing badminton for a long time and love your vids. I’m not quite your tier of playing but not far from we play very competitive doubles at our club. I’ve found the last 4 years I get really bad blisters on the bottom of my big toes from pushing off them so much. I double up my socks and use polyester socks to try and help and it does help but no matter what it still happens every year. Any tips on how to prevent this ??
Waiting for ur denmark open vlogs... I watched ur match... U guys played really well in the first set but lost your way in the second. Also u should have won the first set. Anyways all the best for next tournaments♥️
I would normally prepare for the serve return using the backhand grip. It is way faster to intercept the push return to my backhand or even to the body.
Im only a kid but thanks to you guys im sososososo good🎉🎉😂😂❤❤love from Philippines ❤❤❤🎉🎉
What grip are you using on your rackets?
Hello. I love your videos and I have notifications on so that I could know when you guys released your videos. Could you make a video about how to defend a smash. I play badminton everyday and there is a person who always smashes and I don't know how to defend these. So, could you make a video because I keep on losing
The good thing about a powerful smash is that you turn that power to your advantage - all you have to do is hold your racquet in the path of the shuttle at the right angle and it'll pop back over the net so they have to lift. Or give it a flick up so they can smash again - if you can do that twice their third smash will go in the net (it always worked for me against heavy smashers!).
I'm in relationship right now but still very glad some of those tips also apply to singles!
I would love a video on reverse jump smash and how to counter an opponent who's extra agile in the court but isn't a pro player
Can you make a video on how to finish very intense rallyes if the opponent is playing very aggressive
A topic that i think would be useful is: “follow ups and how to make them consistent”
@Badmintoninsight
Are you going to make a french open vlog😅❤😊
could you make a video on returning the punch clear?
Hey Badminton insight i love your videos and i just want to ask i am joining into badmiton this is my first time to join so yeah and in your opinion what is the best racket when your joining into badminton
And Whatching to Phillippines
The best racquet, regardless of price, is the one that feels comfortable for you. They come in three types of balance: head heavy, head light, and even balance. Head heavy is good if you're a power player with a good smash, head light is ideal for fancy control stuff at the net, while even balance is a good compromise. Also the grips come in a few different sizes so choose one that feels good in your hand. If you have friends who already play, try their racquets to get an idea of what suits you, if they'll let you! But it may take a while to sort out your ideal, so just start and see how you get on! And enjoy it, it's a great game!
@@stevemawer848 thank you.😁
2:54, that looked so staged, not natural at all hahaaa just kidding ;) Reminded me of my childhood birthday celebrations, was made to smile for the camera :D
You two almost beat zheng / huang in the first game.
Im looking forward for that day.
Haha, so are we 😜
Yeah 19-14 up 😬 Hopefully we will!
@@BadmintonInsight i can tell this is replied by Gregory.
@@BadmintonInsight and this is replied by Jenny. :)
I love this channel, but point 1 is not what I typically encounter. I've found the opposite is true in most of my league games. If I'm playing with a lefty partner in men's doubles, I will often choose to serve right-to-left to the far left. The opposition lift the vast majority up the line to my partner's forehand and not across court as suggested in this video, so I recommend people experimenting with this. In addition, generally If I serve from right-to-left to the "T", then the return is usually directly back in the direction I served from, though some better players might slight of hand it elsewhere, but that's rare.
There’s a big difference between serving to the far left and across the body. Yes, if you serve to the far left then the most likely reply is straight up the tramline but this isn’t the serve placement we are discussing in this video! If you watch our men’s doubles serve & return series, we go into this in much more detail.
@@BadmintonInsight Thanks for the reply. I'm going to edit my first comment, as reading it back it is a bit too punchy, so sorry for that. I blame a night in the pub.
hello sir , i buy your weight training programm , but now i want to download it again , but i am facing problem , can you plz help me that , i mail you everything like order id payment proof

@@ji.z_z Comne on! Do some research for yourself. And get fit - that'll get your endurance up. When I was a teenager I used to be a racing cyclist and that fitness really helped me scamper round the court - I could run the legs off anyone in those days. Can't do it now, though ... 😞

Can you do badminton on the street where the distance is very close like 😮--😮
I'm very confused, i just don't know what things do I really need to learn first, i mean i am just very lost if im improving or not
Badminton is tricky in that you need to get quite a lot right just to play badly! First tip is to watch the shuttle onto your racquet - lots of people look at where they're going to hit it to, and miss the shuttle completely! And practise your footwork - that's key to being able to react quickly and be on balance when you play each shot. And keep playing!
@@stevemawer848 THANK YOU!
How about in singles? If I serve and stand too much back left, I'm going to have a really hard time getting a close net right shot from my opponent.
Yes in singles it is harder to move over. You will have to stick to the other 2 tips 😃
Please upload full weekly badminton exercise and gym workout training plan for badminton players please teach us I can't afford premium training sessions
I am so weak at backhand while in a match...i just mess it up or freeze completely and cant take the backhand shot at all...i go for a full arm backhand swing...which ends up thr shuttle going midcourt and easire for the opponent to smash
But while practicing i get it perfect...
You need to practise pronation (forearm rotation), not full arm swing, to get more power into the backhand shot.
Congratulations on winning the mixed doubles against Germany a few months ago!

Tilted after my chess game and mad at my Badminton coach before my trip to singapore, came back to HK, ready to play both badminton and chess
I wish my partners would learn something from this.
They are too slow to reach shuttles in either corner.
I'm under more pressure while serving 😂
That says more about your serves than your partner! 🙂
@@stevemawer848
I meant,
Where should I serve so that my partner won't get under pressure or make a loose return.
@@streetninja23 Serve to your opponent's body to limit where they can return. But ultimately it's up to the opponents to put your partner under pressure, and your partner to make a loose return. There are obvious ways to put your partner under pressure, like a poor high serve, but a low serve that prevents a good return, as shown in the video, is your best bet, angled to try to force the direction of the return.
Hi bros can you pls tell how to sqitch from a nylon shuttle to a feather shuttle
This us Sai From Banglore 🇮🇳
The flight and weight of a feather shuttle is quite different from a plastic, so it may take a while to adjust. They travel further and the flight path decays more slowly, IME. Plastics need to be hit a lot harder, and they tend to drop vertically when they' run their course. Just play and get used to it, really.
