This was the day the album was released and she wasn’t with Blake here I think she was dating Alex, and this is possibly one of the most relaxed interviews you can find of her from this era as this is right at the start before she was catapulted into fame , almost eerie to look at this clip as she had no idea what was around the corner - she was still fragile from Cynthia s death and her break up here - a lot could have been saved with the right care in place, she is missed!

I would do anything to go back to 2006. My best friend and I would listen to frank and back to black every night while we smoked and drove for literally years - she was the only celebrity we would google just to see what she was up to. My best friend died in 2012 in a car accident, I listen to Amy almost every day and think of her - it was literally a different life time, there’s nothing about that time that resonates with me besides my memories.

I think she was too sensitive for such a harsh industry. she was intelligent and troubled. she was creative but struggled with her mental health. which are hard things to deal with in the music business. the world is hard on sensitive souls. she had a lot of talent but sadly was overwhelmed by her pain and her addictions. she was one of the best female artists and her death is very sad

In all honesty, I'm quite like that. But the reason why is because it makes your life simpler when you're honest all the time. Whether it's self-depricating or not, if you're straight up then people can't have anything on you because you're being real. I wasn't always like this mind you, I grew up trying to be popular in school and not being myself in order satisfy other people who in hindsight didn't really care and didn't matter anyway. It's a learned attitude on my part, or rather a reversion back to childhood, but whether it was for Amy I don't know.

Something very special about Amy Winehouse. I normally can't bare to watch any interviews but she seems genuinely happy here. Such a shame she could not be happy without the drink. I think if she could have turned it around in time and was able to have a child she would have thrived, she was desperate to love and to be loved.

This guy wasn’t rude to her at all like some other interviewers. Of course some of the questions are a little personal and she answered them with grace. But she’s just such a genuine person. And she be taking care of everyone. Her friends calling her mum. It’s cute but it also shows how much she took care of others and no one really taking care of her. I've been on an Amy Winehouse TH-cam binge since watching a documentary. Ugh I hate it, it makes me cry thinking about what what she went through while she was still alive. But in a sense she still lives on with her legacy in music. I miss you, Amy!
This was such an awesome interview to watch. I read on another thread that the guy interviewing had his voice cut out for the official cut but it would have been better with it! The way you had developed a friendship and trust is clear, And it resulted in an interesting and insightful look into Amy as a person. Thank you for uploading this, I’m happier to have found this. You could see she enjoyed the engagement and questions too, compared to a lot of other footage I’ve seen of people sitting down to chat with her, this is the most relaxed whilst focus I’ve seen her, most were boring and didn’t seem to get her or even try. 💓🇦🇺

I think she was too sensitive for such a harsh industry. she was intelligent and troubled. she was creative but struggled with her mental health. which are hard things to deal with in the music business. the world is hard on sensitive souls. she had a lot of talent but sadly was overwhelmed by her pain and her addictions. she was one of the best female artists and her death is very sad
So blantantly true. I miss her as if I had lost my own daughter. She used to be a chronic melancholic little girl , secretive. Rehab failed because she was a maze of torments and turmoils, love from a bad manipulative boy mattered more than her self ♥....she has always despised her unique soûl...What an outstanding interview with crucial questions...before her massive fame plus addictions

issamemariheaux Around that time.. 25-27 she knew she was going to die. She had went through a bad spiral. She knew she’d die soon. She actually thought it might be that age. She knew about the club and towards her downfall she thought she might die at 27 and become a member of the club.
norma jazz I mean she did say she would likely die young. She was spiraling in the last few weeks after recording with Tony Bennett and died horribly I believe.

She was just so real... a lot of people only say it, but she actually really didn't care what others though of her. She's just like "Here I am just the way I am, and I don't give a f*** If you don't like it".
In all honesty, I'm quite like that. But the reason why is because it makes your life simpler when you're honest all the time. Whether it's self-depricating or not, if you're straight up then people can't have anything on you because you're being real. I wasn't always like this mind you, I grew up trying to be popular in school and not being myself in order satisfy other people who in hindsight didn't really care and didn't matter anyway. It's a learned attitude on my part, or rather a reversion back to childhood, but whether it was for Amy I don't know.

Something very special about Amy Winehouse. I normally can't bare to watch any interviews but she seems genuinely happy here. Such a shame she could not be happy without the drink. I think if she could have turned it around in time and was able to have a child she would have thrived, she was desperate to love and to be loved.
This is what made her so special. Her brutal honesty about herself and everything.

This is a really good interview Tim, brilliant questions. You did really well because she would either be reserved and bored during interviews or the complete opposite in that she would be open and deep like this.
I wish I could time travel, to save her. As an unknown aspiring empathetic singer from a no name small town, the music that is real and genuine does not come from here often, and the fact that this rare. Once in a life time gifted soul angel from England, I connected with her music and vocals so much, musicians understand one another and we have to stick together, I wouldve stuck there with her, even if was as a fan talking to her for 20 minutes. Damnit........

This guy wasn’t rude to her at all like some other interviewers. Of course some of the questions are a little personal and she answered them with grace. But she’s just such a genuine person. And she be taking care of everyone. Her friends calling her mum. It’s cute but it also shows how much she took care of others and no one really taking care of her. She truly was one of the greats of music history. I wish she could have made more music. She definitely deserved better. RIP Amy Winehouse 🎶💐 I hope she got that vintage wallpaper for her house ❤

The way you had developed a friendship and trust is clear, And it resulted in an interesting and insightful look into Amy as a person.

You could see she enjoyed the engagement and questions too, compared to a lot of other footage I’ve seen of people sitting down to chat with her, this is the most relaxed whilst focus I’ve seen her, most were boring and didn’t seem to get her or even try.

Ahhh well I thoroughly enjoyed the raw cut! I liked the question style as well, it centred on her art whilst also being personable and inquisitive in a genuine way, human to human.
Really nice to see. I’ve been watching clips of Amy again, and I feel a little bit of a fraud because I was young when her music was super popular and didn’t relate/discover the wonders of jazz music till I was a teenager, and therefore only really listened to her music after the hype.
She deserved better from life, so many artists do, thank you for sharing. 😊
