Hey mate, love the rig. Had a TD42 with a 3 inch straight pipe but upgraded to a 08 CRD ZD30. I found the TD42 to be extremely loud and hard to have a conversation inside even with windows up. How bad's the inside noise from the 3 inch on a zd30?
NRVNA isn't bad, little bit of drone, but not enough to drive me crazy on long drives. Hotdog muffler in the rear solves all drone. Pretty happy with the Zd30, getting remapped on Saturday. Some more videos to come.
Probably priced out of my budget at the moment, with buying a house and doing Reno's. plan is to transfer majority of my existing accessories over and getting local eliteweld barwork made for it.
Thanks, have since changed to the newer model gecko non beadlock wheels and dynapro 315/75/16's. The others where giving me problems with balancing and had bent one pretty bad on the inside bead sliding into a rocky rut
16X8 -23 Gecko imitation bead locks with 285/75/16 Siverstone MT-117 Sports, 2.5 inch springs standard shocks. Now has koni 88's for shocks, and poly bags have been taken out when I changed to a progressive rate king rear springs. Front King KDFR-42HD, Rear King KDPR-58LP. If you in Aus, I've got the lift for my dads gu that didn't get put in as he traded it in. Its tough dog shocks and heavier rated front king spring, linear rate rear for load leveling bags
Tyres are discontinued, has a small round lurkey muffler and cat in the system now and is so much better and legal. But it's ready to be sold as I got a tb48 now
It's been good, main problem is the manifold warping due to excessive exhaust temps and broken studs, carry a genuine primer bulb and tensioner as they are pretty common to leave you stranded.
Just pipe in this video, have since changed the dump pipe to one with a 100 cell high flow cat, the rest is still straight though. Will soon be adding a very small muffler to attempt to get a better note and rid the residence vibration I have under large amounts of load when towing
Hey mate sounds really good...is that a crdi ...if so any problems with the straight through???? I own one and was looking to do the same thing....cheers...
CRD, does effect the boost a little stock as it is in this video, have a manual boost controller (hpd vnt) and tune since. but would be fine on a stock setup as the factory control behaves erratically to begin with.
hey mate did you end up having to get this car engineered? looking at getting 285/75/16 but it seems like the au laws are pretty strict regarding 2"+ lifts and larger tyres
Been pretty good, paint didn't last, but was easily recoated when I put a small lurkey muffler in the system, wrapped the dump pipe when I fitted the cat a couple years back
Probably one of the better modern diesels around in a 4 pot, heads are pretty good on the crds the older di's run the glow plugs too long, cracks the head and ceramic tips end up in the cylinders, crd's are steel tipped glows at a short glow interval. Like anything if its getting on I life maintenance is key, running them hot is a recipe for disaster.
Di had a bad wrap because of the ceramic glow plugs breaking off in the cylinders and the long glow duration cracking heads. Crd has its problems too but it's no worse than any other commonrail
@@stevenwilliams2056 CRD or DI are both reliable after 2004. Got 450,000 kms on a 05 DI do tough tracks on weekends and tons of highway driving as a daily never needed to throw a spanner at it and it hasn't skipped a beat except for the alternator died less then 1000 k's ago both reliable and good rigs. I go off road with buddies with CRDs there so good as well just watch out for anything under 2004-2003
@@MrFanOFRacing I have the 2009 model just fitted mine today, 3inch stainless straight through from the turbo back. No muffler. Power is good, but also sounds like a wet fart when I sink the boot into it.... 🤔
Makes more power than the 6, but will soon be sold as I going much older with a td gq wagon since its no longer a regular driver. Can go abit wilder in the gq as panels are way cheaper.
Getting any 4 cylinder diesel to sound reasonable is difficult, now has a cat and small res in the system. Changes the way it idles but still decently loud at full throttle. 2.8 are gutless pieces of shits had one lift a head on me, typical 6 cylinder turbo diesel sound, old technology, have high kms, glad I got rid of it.
I did the same thing to my Nissan patrol sounds great and runs very well...
The sound itself sounds monsterous 😍
So where did u get this exhaust from and which one was ur ?

What a difference,sounds awesome
Sounds great, auto or manual?
Hey mate, have you gotten harassed by the police? Also, is it overly annoying after a while say a 6-hour trip or more?
Never been questioned, its not that bad the turbo acts as a suppresser/muffler
Selling my Gq 1992 turbo intercooled . 33s roofrack 2inch

is this pipe only with no cat and no muffler?
Straight through in this video. Have since got one with a 100 cell cat heatwrapped.
Does yours spot so much aswell now got the same thing exhaust and everything
It cleaned up when it was tuned, still soots alot when taking off or lugging the engine
Did the EGT drop by much
Andrew Mavin gauge wasn't installed till afterwards, tillix controls boost now
Do you have a video with the cat? Would like to hear the sound
100 cell cat sounds pretty much the same, just keeps the officers happy
MrFanOFRacing notice much difference in performance with the cat in there?
@@harrywest6624 Cat doesn't change the sound much, no performance difference
Awesome
Any problems on zd30crdi like on the di? because I'm planning to buy a Nissan patrol gu crdi

looks like u have good tyres . oh Victoria that explains it ., . what's this exhaust ?? oh yeah zd30 yep that's what they sound like .
Have a tb48 now with treps much better in the bush, ats for the road for some economy back
Hey man, sounds rad. Is there a cat on this? Or none?
No cat, sounds like a pigeon if you get one with it
Where is this exhaust from
Playtime, ignite exhausts. Now modified with a small round lurkey muffler and cat, better and legal now
is the resonator you added the hotdog thats an option on there website?

Looking at installing a playtime auto exhaust on my patrol. Your's sounds great. What combination are you running?
Completely stock, and with exhaust. Have another video on my channel which lists all the latest mods
sound good and could you do a drive by
There should be a couple of short clips on the channel for a drive by sound
Jantes déport -25 ou-44 ?good patrol
hey mate did you end up having to get this car engineered? looking at getting 285/75/16 but it seems like the au laws are pretty strict regarding 2"+ lifts and larger tyres
Joe Kelly it's legal with 2' lift and 33s just not the wheel offset and little bit of tyre poke
How is it going now was looking at ordering one soon, how did it all fit up
Been pretty good, paint didn't last, but was easily recoated when I put a small lurkey muffler in the system, wrapped the dump pipe when I fitted the cat a couple years back
Is this with the high flow cat and muffler?
Straight through, none of that fitted. Don't really recommend it anymore, wasn't legal either
top speed?
is this exhaust with a muffler and high flow ?
just the open pipe in this one
I love these cars but is it true the engines are shit
Its been ok, other than a pretty consistant oil leak. Any modern 4/5 pot diesel has the same issues
Good video mate 👍
Corey T thanks, got to finish some drive by shots once I set up tillix and the remap more videos to come.
its a shame they blow head gaskets

No tune initially but found it was causing the boost to spike, fitted tillix to control boost and got a ecpt ecu remap
where did u get the remap
Other video on my channel has all the details/updates. Stock everything but exhaust in this video
Is it a defect to have no cat? Would love to have one of these kits on my Patrol.
Yes, just installed a cat in the system. Still sounds the same as it's only a 100 cell playtime one
@@MrFanOFRacing Does it sound like a pigeon like you mentioned before? Or pretty much the same?
100 cell is high flow, very little back pressure which cause the pigeon noise.
Sounds great! what combination? Cat and straight pipe, or no cat and straight pipe?
just the pipe in this one, now have a cat in the system and its pretty much the same sound

It made the boost come on sooner and spike higher with the factory control. Shortly after I had it remaped so it made heaps more
