One of the greatest tracks of all-time, and one of the few I never get bored of; it gradually creeps up my list of favourite songs every year. The Flamingos' manager suggested they cover this song (which was an "oldie" even in 1959!) because he was convinced that rock & roll was a short-lived fad, and the band should concentrate on middle-of-the-road old songs... 🤣

This was recently used for a tv commercial.....lol I have no idea what the product was but it featured and elderly couple slow dancing to it with flashbacks to their youth.....I got lost in the song and have no idea what they were advertising. But his love for the song went back to its inception in 1934 from the movie "Dames", with Dick Powell singing this to Ruby Keeler while on the ferry. Al Dubin's lyrics are timeless and Harry Warren's melody is so enthralling. My father actually sang this around the house in the early '50s. I will add that this arrangement is probably one of my all-time favorites, due to its dreamy nature. I hope some young folks will learn how deep the talent pool is, and if you have a gift, use it.
