Very Strange News Came out Today About Made in Abyss

- I think we all can agree Made in Abyss Season 2 The Golden City Arc made us all want more of the anime. However I believe most people are aware of the anime catching up with the ongoing content in the manga. So even if a Season 3 was to come out, there wouldn't be enough content to cover a full season 3. Does this mean it'll be going anime original or just a very early announcement?

Good news?
I don't like where this is going
Kinda fascinating. I do not see the author being able to release enough for a whole season (let alone an arc). As you said, the only 2 options that make sense to me are: that either the anime will be going anime OG, which "could" be good but I extremely doubt that; Or the author is thinking of using the anime as his main form of expression instead of manga which that could work out like season 1.
Either way as long as Kevin Penkin is the ost director I will still like it in some manner even if the anime is bad bc he is a god of music.
@@duxangus Kevin Penkin fr though
idk might just not come out for a while
I really hope this just means we'll get more good chapters at a reasonable interval (say once a month) and then a new season next year or smthng. Im starving for content, but I want good content and a healthy author.
judged by the recent speed, the manga will have sufficient material for season 3 by around 2027.
best case scenario , the magaka stats doing monthly releases and we get it by early 2025?
Dude this seems like a joke but its deadass
Seems about right.
Honestly its taking to long at this point we will be lucky if its finished by 2050
Imagine the author goes god mode and finish all chapters sufficient enough for season 3
Made In Abyss has actually already done this announcement type multiple times over.
- When the film for the bonedrewd arc was first announced, that was only a week or so after the original first season ended.
- When the scorching sun arc was announced, that was within 24 hours after the dawn of the deep soul film was first released in Japan, and at this point, the scorching sun arc hadn’t even concluded in the manga.
When Made In Abyss announces a sequel is in progress, that doesn’t tend to mean a new season is dropping any time soon. It just means that they are committed to adapting the series going forward in the near future.
Also Akihito confirmed he was writing the manga as this new season had begun to air. Speculation would deem that he’s been storyboarding for the past 6 months and now the manga is ready to start being pumped out at a more frequent pace. It won’t be for another 2 or so years following made in abyss track record 👍
This. ^^^^^^^^ thankyou.
tickell mickell
"manga is ready to start being pumped out at a more frequent pace" we readin the same manga? lmao
@@terraneko8999 what do you mean? The user said that it's ready to start being pumped out at a more frequent pace. The current state of the manga doesn't really matter, that sentence means that it's possible for that to happen. What he is talking about is a possibility in the future. Your comment looks like nonsense. Am i missing something?
@@KARIAP was more or less just a joke but he also kinda said the same thing after the movie lmao
@@KARIAP inside joke about how inconsistent and long the waiting period is usually for Made In Abyss manga chapters.
For sure i thought we would have to wait for 10 years for another season since s2 ends somewhere in chapter 60 while currently we are still at chapter 63 and it releases like every once in a blue moon (last chapter was released at july 2022). This is the last and probably the best news for mib fans and i hope the 2nd scenario you mentioned will be the case.
Wow, didn't know the anime is that close
Welp might as well join in with the manga readers

But long enough that you recover from the trauma,
So you once again experience the terror and nausea like you did in previous seasons.
"Stay Hydrated" - Made in Abyss Twitter the day before the drinking water episode.
its all about that longing!
Two theories:
-confirmed season 3 or movie to cover part 4 depending on its length when it's done.
-spin off: there could be a manuscript for a spin off movie covering Lyza.
How awesome would it be to have more Lyza backstory with out spoiling the end of her journey. Maybe an adventure about the unheard bell leading to her last dive and then showing a teaser for the inevitable season 3. A thought
I honestly think this is just an announcement saying that they're committed to making season 3 once enough material is out. This could take a while but I also think it could be faster than we think because this next arc deals with their dive into the seventh layer and the other white whistles which could provide a movie's worth of content (that's just speculation tho, idrk).
That said I do think there's also an opportunity for the studio to make additional content outside of the main cast. They did this with the game and although the game itself was meh the story was undeniably Made in Abyss. The Abyss has a lot of potential for storytelling outside of the main 3 (now 5, technically) characters and I would love to see how they handle a gritty story from the perspective of adults without any kids giving a false sense of security.
Unless they go game of thrones on it and the author gives them the major plot points and they write thier own version
@@jebes909090 The author tweeted after this announcement that he should finish the manuscript already. Meaning there will be a manga and it's possible that he is finishing writing this next arc so we get faster releases soon. That might still be two to three months per chapter but in MiA standards that would be fast.
@@humourlessjester3584 honestly i wish he'd write a light novel. i would read that shit it in a second.
It is just the confirmation of an eventual sequel being made when there is enough content the " please live long and wait" or the reply from the Author himself points pretty much to this, plus it is pretty similar to the very first video announcement regarding season 2, where it was just fragments of season 1, the movie and just one panel of the 6th layer, extracted from the manga, that was given color. There was a lot of time between that and the actual first PV for season 2, in general is just the intention to keep adapting the series.

He is definitely not getting rushed

SOIAF still in writing by then😂😭
I watched Made In Abyss after s2 completed after letting it sit on my watchlist for ages. Best decision of my anime life. Its my favorite anime of all time now. I hope the new content gets done right if its really skipping ahead of the manga. Maybe they will keep with the Anime Movie Anime Movie release format?
He isn't known for pumping out chapters, so I hope the studio is able to take some of that burden from him. The last thing we want is for the quality of the manga to diminish from rushing things, or worse his own health.
The year of Rabbit would be good time for some Nanachi shorts that are not included in storyline, filter episode if you will.
personally I hope that it doesn't split between anime and manga. I hate the idea of multiple canons, making me have to just sort of choose which version I personally accept. The best case scenario, for me, is for the anime to surpass the manga but have the same material as it would have.
Interesting news! I loved S2 of Made In Abyss.
I'm quoting Canipa Effect:
"I'm fairly confident that they're not going to wait for the manga on this one. My guess is Akihito Tsukushi will provide them with his plans for the series, and the anime will overtake the book.
The worry is that if they wait for the chapters, we'll get into an issue where it becomes harder and harder to reassemble the original team that made the anime popular in the first place"
That would definitely be the ideal scenario
But isn't an anime's sole purpose is to advertise the manga so they can sell it more? I overly heard many times that an anime series is not so much profitable.
@@pingunata Not necessarily, as like with many anime, there tend to be other companies outside of the manga's publisher within the production committee.
And as the anime has gained a good amount of popularity and praise over the past couple of years while the manga has slowed down its release continuity to the point of stagnation, it makes sense that PC would want to capitalize on the anime's current success, even if it means overtaking the manga. And it shouldn't be a bad thing, since the people working on the anime have a deep care and understanding for what makes MiA special, as they've proved with every project so far.
@@benji5753 All this being said, Tsukushi has given an indication that the scripting and storyboarding for the next arc is already complete, which suggests that the release of new chapters will be at a quicker pace than we've seen of late; furthermore, the team does tend to announce plans for the continuation of the adaptation right after the latest entry in the series but often in advance of the completion of the next arc to be adapted. I see Canipa's point and don't think it's impossible, but the next entry, whether series or film, might still be a bit, as even if they do intend to overtake the manga with Tsukushi's blessing and oversight, they're unlikely to rush the process either way.
i love made in abyss but i really don't want the author to overwork himself
I wanna hear Pochita's voice again (Nanachi)
Also wanna hear Himeno's voice again (Reg)

At most they could do a movie with the material left to cover but even that's a stretch, honestly after waiting 5 years for re zero season 2 I'll wait as long as I need for season 3 of both shows
This is concerning. It maybe an original anime content but a "filler" won't be good enough to fill the shoes of the first 2 season and movie.
And the scariest thing to happen for me is they straight up end the series by the third season with original content just like ajin and god forbid, promised neverland
@@ilhamadigunawan5264 ajin ended prematurely, I'm shocked to hear that but now I have an excuse to read the Manga

I hadn't read the manga for a few months and expected to get a few new chapters only to find it hadn't been updated.
Also there's the possibility it just doesn't come out for a couple more years than what we're expecting. It does say to "live long and wait." Which doesn't sound very typical. Hopefully this gives the author the time he needs.
If there is enough content for half a season, they could be making it into a movie, which would be kinda neat. Then, made in abyss would have a season-movie-season-movie schedule
We could see a anime connected to the first raiders to expand the lore more than new content that the author hasn’t made yet
I mean, there WAS 5 years between season 1 and 2, 3 between season 1 and the third movie, Dawn of the Deep Soul. 2 between the third movie and season 3. Due to how the chapters are released. I just hope the mangaka doesn't mean he's going to start churning out new chapters. His health could decline and the quality of the art could decline. Both could very well lead to a decline in popularity. One to try to force the author to slow down and take better care of himself and one for the declining quality in the ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL art!
My understanding is that although chapter releases are sporadic, there's usually enough chapters for 1 Volume/year. So it seems the author has focused more on getting one Manga volume a year than specific chapters. That would put the timeline at around 2.5 years for an anime with enough content. With studio/author time management, they could probably do it sooner. Like, nothing would really stop them from airing an anime while the author was still working on the next volume for the last episodes.
It could be another movie that condenses season 2 or even better a Lyza spinoff
I've never binged a show that quick.. it took me 3 days to see both seasons + the 3rd movie.. pls make season 3 happen fast i've never felt such LONGING!! PLEASE!!
lol same here but i did it in 12 hours 😭😭
If I recall there are several chapters of the manga + side chapter from where the anime lift off. So making the next season seems impossible right now.
Am so excited that I can't take it anymore, I wish the season will come really soon
Yay!! I really enjoyed season 1 and was waiting for season 2 :3
That translation makes me think another anime "movie" of the previous season, like how there were technically 2 movies that were just the episodes in movie form before the actual movie, which is numerically the third.
Good news for us but Akihito haven’t even make more than 4 chapters from after the event of season 2
The creator is writing a new story for a new manga. I think season 3 is going to cover the rest of the Golden City story and the upcoming ones.... Usually when they announced a new sequel /season for an anime like you said it might take a couple of months til a year or maybe 2-5 years sometimes.
From what you've commented,it seems that we're going to have a wait before the next season. 'Strike while the irons hot' to get hype and then make us wait for the next season
It's worked for NGNL, and I don't think that actually said there was going to be another season
I hope the next season or movie or whatever touch a little bit of what's going on above ground.
I've been dying to know what happened to their friends in the orphanage. It was also hinted in the anime that there has been some weird "disease" or curse that kills kids at certain age but when that little boy was brought to a floating hospital outside the island he recovered immediately like nothing happened. I don't remember that being concluded.
After finding out time moves slowly in abyss, it makes me sad to know that when they come up, if ever they find a way, their friends would likely be dead. I'm curious about those balloon thingy though cause there might be some plot holes that might come up because of it. Like, does it mean that to her mother it's been like yesterday since she left her?
crazy theories
They said in the anime that for her mother around 1 year passed since she went down the pit. I think it was ozen that said that
as long as the author is working with the studio on the next season or whatever it's gonna be I'll have hope
Haven’t started reading the manga yet, missing volumes 7 & 10, when I get 7 I’ll start. But I hope the anime doesn’t go off it’s it’s own direction like the Claymore anime, it stuck with the manga right up to the last few episodes and then gave a totally different story.
I dont care if It will take a year or a decade, i just want more
Made in Abyss, amazing show, I really enjoyed the first season it was soo good and I'm about to start season 2 soon.
there is a movie that comes before it. and you can't skip it, its both canon and an extremely important part of the story.

@@MA-ig6zx movie 1 and 2 is just recap of s1. Movie 3 Dawn of the Deep Abyss is what you should watch before s2
The author of the manga, Akihito Tsukushi, was enthusiastically cooperating with the anime production team in Season1 and 2. That was one of the reasons anime was so faithful to manga. He'll be doing that again, so I do not believe any undesired original arc will happen in a next season. Anime version will always be released under author's consent. However, if we are waiting for Tsukushi to actually finish next manga arc, it's gonna take 2 years or more...
One possibility is that it's gonna be season 2.5 fan service compilation. There're "Made in Abyss: Anthology" vol. 1~4 drawn by famed mangakas. So next season could be adapted from those. Some might hate it. But in any form, more Nanachi is a good thing.
I dont think they will rush it, maybe that's just me being optimistic. A business is a business, but I just hope they let the source material breathe. It kind of sucks that a result of mangaka getting attention is that everyone starts to take control of his production, it's almost like you want a good manga author to finish their manga before it gets picked up for an anime because if studios get wind of it before it ends, we end up in situations like this where an IP is in jeopardy of being rushed and suffering as a result. And as far as I'm concerned after 2 BANGER seasons(I'm assuming S2 stays great) and 3 incredibly well done movies, they BEST NOT screw it up now.
yeah i dont want to happen , what happened to marvel they rushed production and the quality got bad
I'd love to see more shows go the route of going ahead of the manga rather than anime original or waiting until the show fades into obscurity. You have a group of people capable of drawing the ideas of the author and an author who if they could just allow to put their ideas into story and guide the animators could really push production. Ofc fully agree I don't want to see burn out, I also don't know fully how the industry works. But it's just so sad how many shows either go original, end up with no ending, or a mix of both.
Man 😢 when you said 4:33 that line I immediately thought yoshihiro togashi
Honestly I want them to take their time until there's enough contents for S3
I would love some original short stories or spinoffs while we wait for enough manga content for a season three. This story deserves its time to develope, especially as we seemingly are entering the final 1-2 arcs with the manga.
People are overreacting and haven't been paying attention to the pattern of how they have been announcing continuations. Just like now, soon after season1 finished airing they made one of these video announcements for a sequel using already aired footage. It being announced it is in the works does not mean it is coming out any time soon. That being said, I will say that I believe there was more material to work with after the first 2 installments, but it means we may just have to wait a bit longer. It'll depend on the length of the next arc or arcs if it would work for more than one to be put in the next installment like with season 1. I highly doubt they will go anime original. It would be way too difficult to do with a story like this. It's too intricate. The only other thing I could see them doing is having the author tell them what will happen like you mentioned. Magus' Bride did it. However, even if another whole arc was complete right now, it would still take quite a while to complete the project, so there is plenty of time for new manga chapters to come out, despite the slow release schedule. They can't rush their level of quality like with other shows. As long as the author isn't overworked, it will be fine.
im amazed on how is the manga not over yet it was made in 2017 (see what i did there xD)
akihiko tsukishi really needs to get to work on this manga as his first priority i really hope they dont go anime original cuz it will probably be a disaster just look at claimore the manga was much better then the anime original ending
If anime droped source material and made its own original ending, then maybe it wouldnt be that bad.
This is fine. As the author said before, when he signs the contract for anime, he has to finish a particular volumes before a deadline, or the anime will not happen/delay
Also, it's possible that they will add some abandoned material of the manga and make it into anime as filler, just like in S1
i binged this whole show + the 3rd movie in 2 days less gooo
Honestly yes I'm excited and scared for made in abyss but I have patience
i have 0 reason to anything but high hopes for this.
i trust the director a lot, and made in abyss seems to be kinema citrus's passion project. they wouldn't go anime original.
Made in abyss is my favorite anime oat I really hope it doesn’t get rushed 🙏
I'll be waiting for the continuation of the most child-friendly(being sarcastic) anime series😊😊
I hope it doesn't go the anime only route, I have enough patients to wait. Im reading the manga and waiting for the anime
I think this could be fairly good news like maybe the author goes to one chapter a month and we get a new season in like 2 years whilst it’s double what they currently put out maybe he believes it’s manageable
I doubt this is anything new. If you remember way back, they announced both the sequel movie and season 2 at almost the same time, not too long after season 1 ended and well before the movie aired. Just like last time, I think this simply means that they are confident enough in the popularity of the show to announce the next season years ahead of time.
Also, Akihito Tsukishi actually is consistent in his output of the manga, as he's contractually bound to release 1 volume per year (and has always done so, even releasing 2 volumes in 2016 in preparation for season 1). It's just that with only around 8 chapters per manga volume, it doesn't always release on a consistent monthly schedule.
5:18 to be honest that depends if it’s not going to adopt a manga they ought to explore the concept of amongst the characters that we already know because Faputa was confirmed I have a very strong relationship with reg and love seems to be a very universally used term in the anime and I kind of don’t appreciate that because we got friends loving each other. We got family loving each other. This shit is confusing this is confusing if there’s no longer going to adopt them again, please expound upon the definition of loving this anime because it’s being stretched to every upmost on the phantom, it stated that characters like riko reg and Naniuchi but then in the manga we get riko almost without a second thought willing to give up, probably her eyes, her legs, or half her organs for nanaiuchi and reg sort of has a pseudo crush on riko naniuchi flustered get flustered at the thought of reg snapping out of it because of her word in a conversation after reg saves her which paints everyone’s relationship to be very confusing and difficult to place the them each in the friend category it doesn’t help that there’s no inviting either everyone’s relatively agreeable to the point of irritation. Nobody has an issue with naniuchi ditching them, nobody has a problem with Reggie using his blaster nilly Willy💀 I feel like it’s been overstated at this point, but if he goes down there pretty much cooked thankfully faputa in base is a strong as one arm reg who can’t fully use his power and there’s enough to defend them given her extraordinary durability but somebody ought to complain to him I need the relationship to be very clearly established in for love to become more consolidated if they’re going to go off script from the manga because it’s such a broadly use term and it’s very clear. These kids don’t necessarily think of each other is just friends, but more like family.
They can juste release recap movies like for the first season to give the author a bit more time to work with while getting some funds for season 3
I hope it goes anime original with the author behind the decisions
Huh, interesting, i wonder what this will lead into, guess we’ll see.
By the way, it’s been awhile since you covered the My Hero Academia Anime and Spy x Family, is there a reason for that?
if the anime goes down an anime original route ill cry
They're probably gonna put season 2 into movie form like they did with the first season
first, we gotta know that made in abyss is a hobbie of the author, it isnt his main job. from what i see, with the sucess of the 2nd season, the author may start working on the manga full-time or contracting a new pearson to help him draw (wich would be a shame, seeing how gorgeous and original the manga art is)
No there’s absolutely no chance they go original. They’ve been so faithful to the original this whole time, and with the authors comment saying he needs to pick up the pace, they’re still adapting his work
currently i think theres like 2 or 3 episodes of content
I have heard many readers said that it seems like the author were more focus on the production of the season 2 of the anime and chapters has not been released for a good bit. So it could be that they might go the anime cannon route. If that the case, I don't think I would mind at all as long as the story is not rushed and is given a proper continuation and potentially a proper ending if they are willing to go that far with the anime. All in all, I am happy that we heard some news regarding Made in Abyss. At least we know that the anime will come back
Game of thrones
Yep, you guys will be waiting around two years before he gives us enough Contin, because since the making of this video only 6 more chapters have been added💀 This is legitimately, probably the first time I’ve genuinely enjoyed some thing, but I’ve been forced to drop it out of it simply being inconvenienced by the time a new season comes I’m probably gonna be in my early 20s and as reg puts it that’s just irredeemable 1-2 years fine, but you can binge this anime pretty easily and it took him 6 years to write content for season one season two didn’t come out until about 4 years later and you can expect a season three to probably come out 5 years from now he’s been ready this money for 10 years and I’m pretty sure that his anime is going to conclude in the next two archs because the story is heating up as they reach the center of the abyss in the manga
The author was working on the game for a while, so we may get more chapters soon
Yup
I saw this coming they were going to make a season 2 this show it’s too amazing 🤩 I wish it was on Crunchyroll in the uk 🇬🇧!!!!!😢
I beleive its on hidive in every country
There’s only like 1 episode worth of content following the ending of season 2
And the last chapter was released like 7 months ago
I’m guessing the author has been focused on the anime over the last year so he hasn’t had a chance to work on the manga
But even then, I think we’re overdue for a chapter. Maybe the author was giving a hint that the next chapter was gonna be released in the next few days.
As for anime original, that’d make a lot of sense. I’m sure the author already has the story set in stone so he could put it out without much issue.
Or he could do other stories in the world. The adventure of other cave raiders and some more detail about the past of the cast we know
Bro I had to watch this at 2x speed to make it bearable.
The manga is 3 chapters and 1 side story ahead of anime
Really wanting to watch this show but nowhere to watch in the UK.
People are expecting and assuming the worst, and I honestly think there's nothing remotely concerning with this news. It just sounds to me like they're either making a very early confirmation of an eventual movie/3rd season, or are planning on doing an anime original that might or might not be canon to the story. The author had part in the game not too long ago, and it's probable he'll get chapters out much sooner once more again if it is a movie or 3rd season. For all we know though, this anime original could involve a different person spearheading the story like the authors in the anthology books do, but under Tsukushi's discretion this time. Made in Abyss is at the most popular it's been and I'm certain they've taken notice and want to cook up more projects and media for the fans is all.
Oh pleas make it a little fast cause we dont know weather we will leave for another year

Is the Overlord manga catching up to the Anime as well?
He's expanded his mannequin collection, hasn't he?
They're probably going to do like they did after season 1. They'll do movie recap for season 2 to give akihito time to add plenty of chapters, then release a sequel movie.😊
I really need to catch up
Where can I watch this show? I’ve been looking for it everywhere.
The most confusing topic in this anime is love because on one hand, you have Vueko and Pakkoyon I genuinely loving relationship Forge from a deep love for one another and even through hardship
And then you have that fuck up of writing that atrocious mess know as the love between Purska and riko either take the romance out of the story, or develop it because those two characters knew each other for probably all of 2-4 days riko I understand is 12 and children will be children, but riko seems to form relationships, willy-nilly, and get attached really easily her innocence and ignorance has made her to the point where I care about naniuchi’s story more as well as Faputa and Reg’s relationship a lot more I mean look at this line up
1. Robotic boy on a search for his most valuable, mysterious backstory by which, at some point, he was going to marry a powerful wish granting princess
2. A princess on a journey to Avenger mother and learn the truth of her memories
3. A character, trying to overcome the trauma of losing their best friend someone they cared for deeply and learning to develop, and grow as a person
4. A little orphan girl who wants to explore? Doesn’t every child at some point want to explore and when you put this in the anime, her story pales in comparison to the other two….
Not that there’s anything wrong with that I don’t need something grand and profound but at least give this character development we learn to get attached a Faputa and she grows as a person naniuchi has possibly grown the most since the start of the series reg learns to care for more than just Riko and also becomes far less reliant on using his blaster, and becomes a better combatant and becomes more perceptive and learns to rely on those around him especially after Nanauchi joins his development is mostly displayed rather than just simply giving him monologue and character build up the big moments
But riko remains the exact same from the start. The show the trauma means nothing It’s amazing that she never gets cold sweats from the time that she had her arm snapped in half. There’s literally a scar, and she nearly died, but riko just keeps pressing forward😂 I’m not gonna say Sakura level like some people would because her relationship dynamic with reg more complementary rather than him just hard, carrying, he actually needs her because she’s extremely intelligent, but naniuchi appears she quickly overshadows her in experience and very much seems to have a comparable level of knowledge and with the introduction of Faputa we are now being presented with a fast learner with greater knowledge of the deeper abyss even if she proves nothing to know about the seventh later, she still vastly superior as a combatant in comparison to the other two and rivals reg so in truth she needs character development. She doesn’t do anything wrong. She never makes a poor decision and she’s never traumatized It’s too late to try to traumatize her now with anything other than the death of the main character or SA which I think none of us want to see any of that happen so instead give her a power up because right now all she has is a really good person who can do no wrong and fails to make any mistakes in the story. Unlike the other two she is flawless and that’s the issue , as well as the story, having a very loosey goose definition of love, and this is what prevents it from being rated higher as an anime for me it’s still a top 5 but it’z like top 3 or 4 for me
this is what happy and afraid at the same time feels like?
Anime original storyline N Ah ! The Promised Neverland trauma isn't healed yet.
Im still waiting for s3
They anime should not go anime original route. Made In Abyss has a story that one cannot just simply write filler stuff since it would destroy the complete value of the series. Instead they should make the author stick to proper release schedule like 1 chapter every 2 or 3 months.
Ofc I want more made in abyss but not on the cost that it dosnt follow the original story anymore or the story as it is intended to be
Can someone give suggestions for other anime that are similar to Made in Abyss? Lovecraftian and gory is my vibe.
…just gory..? Because that is a tiny part of MiA.
This is good news for the series
Indeed
