    Great deep dive! Wished Akai themselves would have such in-depth content for their own stuff...

    Nice video! Greetings from a Force guy.
    Opx4 was on sale for $29 bucks a few days ago. For that price those plugin(s) are worth it. Lets wait for a Fabric Easter sale **fingers crossed**

    I notice a lot of the stores around me put the mpc one on sale and they've all run out of stock. May lend some credence to the rumors of a new one coming out in april.

    Is Fabric XL worth its weight in memory on the MPC One compared to non-fancy Fabric ?

  • @incaroads001
    @incaroads001 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey Gabe thanks for doing this. It was really helpful. I just bought Fabric mainly for the instruments, but I like the synth too. Those amp sims make a lot more sense when you're using the guitar samples. But there are no sound police; so whatever works, works. Is there a way to do unison detune like Serum? This is a useful parameter and I can't seem to find it.

  • @al8xandros
    @al8xandros ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thx for your video. The architecture, even if not the same, reminds me a bit of how the Roland D-50 works, but with today's standards in terms of sample quality.
    The only thing I hate about it actually is the fact the sounds presets don't load immediately like on their VA synths. But maybe that has to do with the fact the MPC firmware does not support disk-streaming, and might be addressed at some point.

    Hey Gabe thanks for the content. I found it very useful and I trust your opinion. With that being said can you recommend a guitar, bass and piano plug in.?.FYI .I am a beat maker not an instrument player. THANK U in advance

    • @GabeMillerMusic

      I've had good results with Shreddage II, at least for metal stuff. That's worth a look for guitar, and there's a bass version as well.
      For piano, I've not tried a ton of plugins, but I imagine there are some good DecentSampler instruments, and I've enjoyed using Analog Lab ones.

    I decided to purchase both Fabric XL as well as Jura yesterday based on a couple of your videos and a bit of research I put in.
    I love the way the plugins sound, but I'm extremely bothered by how quiet these plugins and their presets are! For example, if
    I load up a Piano inside of Fabric XL the volume of that piano is so quiet I can't even hear it over other parts of my production.
    And that's even with the volume on said instrument cranked up to almost max levels! It's not just this piano either! Even when
    I punch the shit out of my keys on my keyboard that's connected to my MPC X, my max volume peaks at -14 to -15 dB! That's
    not supposed to happen! There's something wrong with the velocity levels when using these instruments! Whenever I try to
    use a preset from Fabric XL for example, my velocity settings feel terrible! I have to literally stomp out my keys just to barely
    hear the damn plugin! If I lightly play the keys (the way I usually do) I can't even hear the instrument within the mix! On top of
    all that dog shit, MPC doesn't have an option to force all incoming midi to a set velocity. If I could just force all incoming midi
    to be at 127 velocity, I probably wouldn't even be leaving this long winded hater ass comment right now! I'm not happy!

    • @Mista808
      @Mista808 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Honestly if you're on the fence, I 100% would urge you to look elsewhere rather than purchasing Fabric XL or any plugins
      from Akai for that matter! The fact that I'm averaging -28 to -30 dB when playing the different presets built into Fabric XL
      is ridiculous as fuck! I'm pissed! I'm going to attempt to get a refund, but I'm the type of person that would rather just
      lose $300 dollars than to spend the next several days bitching at support.

      It has some nice quality of life stuff for sound design and nice sounding multisampled instruments (especially the pianos), but it's definitely got some big limitations.
