The perfect white noise video. I fell asleep to the sound of tires on pavement. I woke up to the sound of tires on pavement. Driving down the interstate is so different than watching someone drive down the interstate on tv. The smells of fresh air, the brightness and warmth of the sun, the bumps of the road.
Glad others were able to keep you company. For me, 😴

Had a GT-Line AWD for just over a month now. So far, I've only charged it at home on my Grizzl-E 40A charge station. That will easily get me from 10% to a full charge overnight. There's a EA station at a grocery store nearby that I plan on trying out at some point, but for the way we plan on utilizing the EV6, 99% of our charging will be done at home overnight. Having said that, the EV6 is my first EV, and is an absolutely amazing vehicle. I've been telling my Wife since we owned it that it's an effortless, quiet, and even serene driving experience. I'm completely sold on owning an EV for at least one of the two cars we have (excluding our younger daughter's Rav4 that's in the garage while she's at college). I'll likely buy a PHEV to replace my Wife's 2013 Acura RDX when the time comes. The way I look at it, having an EV for a daily run-a-bout, and a type of ICE car (hybrid or PHEV preferred) for long distance trips gives you the most flexibility and is the best of both worlds, until the EV charging ifrastructure is more developed and more robust.
PS: I'm down in Parker, CO if you're ever in our neck of the woods and need an emergency charge Kyle.

Weird to see so many pick-up trucks on the road… Here in Finland I think less than 1% of the cars on the highway are pick-up trucks, during this roadtrip it looked like nearly half of the other cars were such!

Hey Kyle ❤️ we used to take one wheel off if flat on our work trucks dual rear wheels as long as we were not carrying a load and get it fixed the next day.

We just did a round trip of 385 miles and with the AC on, 3 people, 12V cooler, 2 dogs, trunk completely full we got an average of 3.2 miles/kwh. Most of the road was 70 and some 65 and some 55 mph areas. The temp was around 60-70 Degrees F. I thought that was a pretty darn good result. Hope this information helps. Oh it was also the AWD version.

Kyle, I have a thought. So much of the general public views that the number of charging stations should match the number of gas stations. What they need to be educated on is that 90% of drivers drive less than 40 miles per day. You treat your car like your smart phone and you should be good to go. A credit should be given to the home builder for installation of a charging station in a garage or carport. One more thing, climate change has become political. The world is switching to EV’s primarily because the technology now exists. We need to separate the EV boom from climate change to protect it. The easier it is to charge the easier it is to buy an EV. -Kyle

Kyle said (at 3:39:30) he didn't know why we were getting stressed out that he might run out of juice. But if that happened, Alyssa and the dogs could always come rescue him.

Interesting,, there is not enough of Macan 4 EV, I just bought one allotment and will Wait For It, for $5,000 deposit, non-refundable. Needless to say, my Dream Car, loaded, still studying, I have a month to lock down my configurations. I went with Frozen Blue and black gloss trime, loving it. Will call her Elsa! Kyle's video was educational, watched it twice. I'm an early adopter and concerned about the environment and I think this is a great choice with a decent range. Once owned one Audi Q3, sp am familiar with the brand. Can hardly wait til September! Anything I should be concerned about around production or should add before 4/20?...? (What the heck is one wheel? I'll google it) Thanks!

It still feels crazy seeing trucks overtake at those speeds to a European. Here they're limited way slower than that!

doing a range test in a mixed traffic scenario that is the least ideal, or hardest to duplicate does not an average range test make it only sets an absolute high

I am starting to watch this one late, but the finished charging was a lot less painful then the Volvo XC40 recharge!! Jut wonder if that fast of a charging will damage or reduce the battery life?

    • @JinSChun1979
      @JinSChun1979 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

Batteries charge faster when using high power charging stations. Frequent use of high power charging stations has an impact on battery life. Battery life is usually calculated in terms of charging cycles. One charge counts as one cycle. Frequent deep discharging and recharging can lead to shorter battery life. Operating at high temperatures can also shorten life.

One question is the car does fast charging, does Kia do like Tesla and put some type of cooling gel in battery packs to prevent over heating from charging so fast? Cause being such a fast charge I wonder how long battery would last getting heated up from rapid charging it

They are not allowed to test the range of this car without a crosswind. From what I can tell, temperature plays a huge part in the range of this car.

You need split screen showing driving view and the screen showing stats. You also need to say how long it takes to fully charge from empty.

If Kyle is stilling feeling good driving at a low state of charge, it would be more interesting if he was just crossing some train tracks........

3.4 kw is pretty lousy. I would expect close to 4. I notice EVs are kind of backwards. You get the efficiency for maximum range of you are in town when you don’t need it, but if you are out on a trip going 70 or more on the Highway you get your worse efficiency and range when it actually matters. Also, if it’s colfpd you get worse, if you are uphill worse, high altitude worse.
