    For the guys out there where the fuel pump relay is in the passenger side fender, the connector with the red wire that triggers the fuel pump may or may not exist. There's a green plug with a green wire in the passer side kick panel with a yellow stripe that splices out to three. Those three wires trigger the fuel pump. You can connect the green wire from the Holley kit to one of the spliced green wires with the yellow stripe and it will work. Although the Termi X harness already has a relay I still wired in another 40 amp relay just for peace of mind.

  • @billyblastbv
    @billyblastbv 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great Vid Wes. I was wondering and maybe I missed something but did you fully remove your stock ECU, and if so are all of your stock gauges working based on the couple wiring tricks you showed with the Oil sensor etc... How did you wire up your airbags to work? Did you use the AUX inputs/outputs in the TermX? Thanks in advance, Subbed!

    • @Mustang-Geek
      @Mustang-Geek  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I fully removed the factory ECU. The gauges work completely independently, so that's not a problem. (The ECU has its own temp sensor, that is replaced with one for the Holley Terminator X.) The air bag wiring is separate as well, I but since it was loomed with the MAF harness, I had to pull them apart. I am not currently using any inputs/outputs...yet. Should I add nitrous?

      Welcome and good question! I recall your intake faces the other way on F150s, but I think there is enough slack in the harness to make it work. I suggest trial-fitting the harness first to see if it will work before going through the rest of the installation process.

    Great video !! Only small thing is.... holley says like 12 times in the instructions that the main power needs to goto the battery positive and battery negative DIRECTLY ON THE BATTERY. I hope you never find out how touchy these holley ECU’s are, but I’m shocked no one has mentioned it.
    For anyone using this as a guide, put the main power/grounds DIRECTLY on the battery.
    Again, really awesome you took the time to post this to help everyone :)

    • @Mustang-Geek
      @Mustang-Geek  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's to avoid RF noise. Feel free to connect your power wire directly to the battery terminal. Mine works great with it connected directly to the battery cable at the starter solenoid, but if you want to connect yours directly to the battery, go for it!

    • @bryanleverett2830
      @bryanleverett2830 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      FixBody Mustangs the battery dampens surges in the electrical system that holley says can damage the ecu. Holley also says “If you don’t hook them up directly to the battery, and you have a ecu fail, don’t even call us”. All the people that do this professionally go bananas ( search “Devon holley” on TH-cam) when they see the main power hooked up anywhere but the battery. Now..... can you act like holley are just saying to be jerks and you know better than the company that built it, and it work? Sure. You just did. But if you ecu stops connecting in 2 months and the car won’t start, don’t be mad at holley when you mail them the ecu and they say, “It’s bad. It’s not covered under warranty because it was clearly hit with a power surge”. I’m not saying YOU shouldn’t do it how ever you want. I would say, prob not great to tell everyone watching this to disobey a corner stone of what holley says like 8 times in the instructions (I guess for no reason, lol).

      If you're going to make it a "strip car," I assume this won't be a stock engine. This is EXACTLY what the Terminator X is designed for. The Terminator X will be a lot less headaches in the long run than the factory computer. Especially considering that the factory computer's capacitors are on borrowed time, if they haven't failed already. I'd go with the Terminator X without hesitation.

    • @Mustang-Geek
      @Mustang-Geek  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, the default setup of the Holley Terminator is "speed density." The MAF is not used. I left the MAF installed because it is an "adapter" from the intake tube to the air filter. I could get a different filter or find a different coupler, but whatever.

      You don't have to worry about it. None of the chassis electrical system is affected. If you use the diagram here, gauges and everything work as they did with the factory ECU. th-cam.com/users/postUgyMR72JMcb7LD1LlsF4AaABCQ

    What’s the difference, does it run better, more power? Faster? I have a stock 89 GT,

      If your car is stock, and runs well, there's not much reason to install this system. However, if you plan to add a cam, supercharger, nitrous, larger fuel injectors, or other parts that would require a chip, the Terminator X is the best option. I plan on adding a supercharger, so the Terminator X made sense.
