@@TomTom-kq2lr From what I've seen so far the lighting is fine (though that might just be the stealth game fan in me talking). The voice acting on the other hand? Ugh, man... Really a very noticeable black spot on an otherwise very good mod, in my opinion. Too many Americans trying and failing to put on British accents and too many British voice actors doing their best to sound 'dramatic'.
Do you know if someone made a mod that fixed the odd damage in Stanfield? I liked the hardcore damage in fo4 because you hurt the enemy's just like they hurt you.
Playing FO4 on Survival with the True Damage and Scourge mods will make it better. Scourge reduces/standardises the NPC and creatures' health, stopping them just being bullet sponges. True Damage bases the damage output on calibre alone. With those two mods it's like playing a modded-up Stalker - taking cover and dodging attacks (or really armouring up) becomes paramount or you'll die after a few hits.
The crazy thing I love about Mods is it shows us that not only does Bethesda refuse to replace an outdated engine, they aren't even trying to maximize what they can get out of their current engine. Modders doing projects for free put out comparable, if not better quality stuff in similar times to Bethesda.
Fallout London is a great game, but I am upset by the stupidity of people who, like stupid robots, start crowing the same thing. IT'S BETTER THAN WHAT BETHESDA DID! BETHESDA IS WORTH LEARNING! God.... This has always been and will be so and there is nothing surprising in this, most of the resources during the development of the next game Bethesda spends on updating the engine, on creating models, textures, design from scratch. Nehrim, Enderal, London.... They take a ready-made engine, convenient tools, save a lot of effort and money and can afford to pay more attention to the plot component, the script. Josh Sawyer once said that they managed to make New Vegas in 18 months only because the Bethesda engine provides a simple and convenient toolkit... Zoomers in the comments are amused, who now begin to compare any game with RPG elements, or Bethesda games (which have never been pure-blooded RPGs) with BG3 .... Children are so funny
@@SaltMiner I don't quite understand the meaning of what you wrote, I don't speak English. Who has what tools? Bethesda updates its engine before each of its games, and then optimizes all these updates for the platforms that are relevant at the time of the game's release. Well, the artistic component, style, models, textures are developed from scratch. All this takes a lot of time. What is not clear here? Rewriting many aspects of the engine, adding new features to it, optimizing it, developing design concepts, and then developing the game on this basis so that it would not be a broken piece of code at release... It's not the same as taking a ready-made game, with a ready-made engine, with a lot of ready-made models, animations, convenient tools, and making something of your own on this solid foundation. Of course, in the second option, you spend much less time on the technical aspects of development and can focus more on other systems. For example, plot, quests, characters
I'm sort of against Bethesda hiring modders to work on their games, because they never seem to appropriately use those with decent modding skills & talents. There was a modder by the name of FadingSignal several years ago, he made top-quality stuff, with extra care and passion, his mods are often seen as some of Fallout 4's first real highly regarded mods. From intense Rad Storms, Mini-Portable Workbenches, Remote Explosives, to Camping Equipment. Bethesda hired him, and in the several years he's worked there, all he's been allowed to make and release is a fancy looking backpack on the Creation Club. A backpack that many in the community overlook, because there are so many better backpacks out there for free. I'm happy the man has a job, but his talent seems incredibility wasted on such an arrogant driven studio that makes all the wrong decisions.
Dude wasn't just there for Fallout 4, he's been there since Skyrim too. But yeah I've known many of these modders personally who ended up being hired by Bethesda and they're really talented and I just hope they don't end up being underused like they did with FadingSignal
Even then, 'hired' is a bit generous, I'm fairly certain Bethesda just occasionally contracts them for a micro project or two just so they can claim that they support modders.
@@damianryan89 Never was planned to be and most likely never will be. The only thing with the power to get Fallout London on console is Bethesda themselves but they don't get involved in these mod projects at least not beyond hiring modders or notifying them that they're using content they don't have right to use like assets from other games. Remember Fallout London isn't separated in any way. Fallout London needs Fallout 4 and it's DLCs to work at all which isn't a system that exists on console unlike platforms like Steam or GOG.
The chance to get a shot at a real paying gig in the industry is part of what is drawing a lot of talent to these projects. This is great portfolio fodder and, if one guy gets hired by BGS, 5 other guys will volunteer for a mod project in the hopes that they'll be next.
Dominates would have been a better word than rivals. The bugs are from the horrible "next gen" update that Bugthesda foisted just as this was scheduled to come out.
12:02 I'd have to disagree about this particular quest. If you follow "default" path, you will come to this bar first, and the quest sends you around to meet new people and workbenches, familiarize you to the house. I was actually very surprised to see this and went to look up if the mod had professional game designers. Its a camouflaged tutorial, not a simple fetch quest
Might? They will. Starfield is evidence of the slop and decay. It will be 10 years outdated when it comes out and i expect there to be less modders to fix bethesda's bs.
@@ahmedhamm5464 There's a mod you can grab on Nexus called 'Long Loading Times Fix' which sorted my problem and added to Buffout 4 & 'High FPS Physics Fix' it runs like a dream with high resolution too. Cheers.
I'm so glad that people aren't bitching about the problems. This is beyond impressive. Literally almost all of the issues the game has are just issues that the creation engine and Bethesda games have in general; most are carry over fallout 4 bugs. The amount of detail in this is wild. The fact that it's been completed to a good playable state within 5 years is a feat in itself considering the time it takes Bethesda. I look forward to completing this, and also hope we get fallout Miami pretty soon
Reminds me of fallout new vegas in numerous ways including some bugs and the hallmarks of bejng made by people who enjoyed the series one thing id love to see added is more lore and quests in the terminals, notes and holo tapes scattered around as set dressing - i appreciate team size and time were a factor, but it is one of the most enjoyable parts of the fallout base games when done well as it rewards curiosity but doesnt hinder the main quest
That has always been the case with Bethesda. I've played Skyrim custom quests made by tiny teams or even single individuals that left Bethesda in the dust. Suddenly you realise that there are quite a lot of creative things you can do with that Engine. Bethesda just sucks.
@@TheOldMan-75 You can sort of say the same about Valve too. They've only actually made one game series, the rest have been mods they bought the rights to and hired the developers of. Granted the Half-Life games are actually good and well made.
I was watching another player's video where he commented that he had lived in London, and that so many places in the game, like the "Swan & Mitre" pub actually exist in real life. They did an amazing job of applying an apocalyptic overhaul to the actual city locations! I once had a stopover in London for three days, and I also recognized many places in the mod. Absolutely brilliant!
I live near London and it is wild seeing this stuff done so well. The Greenwich foot tunnel is flooded and infested with radioactive ghouls in real life so I thought that was a nice touch.
Well the devs at Bethesda does have bosses and investors they can't just do what they want like a mod team that isn't bound by a corporation or investors with thousands of dollars involved the modder have a easier time especially since the game was already built for them we seen this with many games already shits old and yall freaking out about a new mod
@@lapine.mp4lapine.mp350 bro I could care less about Bethesda but I'm right bro people with the free time to work/perfect a mod on a already built and developed game engine and redesign with new assets. They obviously can make something better than a dev team under a corporation that has to do what they are told like at any old job to build the whole game within what ever deadline is set and that goes for any game thats made
Watching this has me wanting to play it, but I think I speak for many people when I say that while I want to play it, I'd rather play it later when its been patched up more and is significantly more stable. I hope no one takes this as me dissing or being rude to the mod makers, they put in an astronomical amount of effort and I wouldn't dare try to dismiss that. But stability is something I take into account when installing a mod and with just how massive this one mod is, I want it to be stable... well at least as stable as any other Bethesda title if not more stable. Hopefully in a few more years it will be in a more polished state since I will be, in the future, downloading this.
That's what I would suggest doing. I would wait a month as there is only one major game breaking problem (train crash) and the rest are them not being clear about telling people other QoL prerequisite mods to download after installing the mod. That is my experience at least.

The Assault rifle being used on the ship by you is a real world gun (EM2 made in 1951) and was a great weapon but the British military didn't adopt it, when they really should have.
amazing that they developed concept for another 30 years, replaced dubious parts of it with mechanically proven designs, and still managed to make a very questionable quality rifle out of it. Good old British MoD.
We did adopt it for a few months, before it got shitcanned. But thats down to some US Army Officer pushing through the M14 and 7.62 for NATO, a round that EM2 wasn't really able to handle, so we got the FN FAL instead. Forgotten Weapons has a great video on it, and even gets to shoot it!
If you check the actual stats on .280, it was a dumb round It needed a 24" barrel to not even match 7.62x39 energy out of the 16.1" barrel on the AKM, and it was 9 lb using 20 rd mags no smaller than 7.62x51. So it was literally the worst of both worlds. Limited capacity and excessive weight but weaker than the AK. The low energy meant that for the 24" barrel, it gained no advantage, just as how the more powerful 6.8 SPC II, which also used a 7mm projectile and had more energy, dropped like a rock past 275m just like the 7.62x39 round despite better ballistic coefficient.
@@superbananas7792 which is literally no different to any other rifle in history (bow, spear, sword etc). The history of the M16 is replete with iterations to fix various problems, I don't know why people behave as if the SA80 was unusual in that respect.
It seems like all mods are going to require a downgrade now, Bethesda couldn't leave well enough alone and completely destroyed the game with their next gen patch. We have no choice now but to downgrade or pirate older versions of the game even if you own it just to be able to use mods.
I found it worth buying the GoG version as you don't have to downgrade their version of Fallout 4. The next gen update and broken creation quests added to the Steam version was more of an upgrade to the console version. Because the Steam version and the GoG version share the same folders in the Documents folder, for config, ini files, saves etc you need to have one uninstalled to use the other with this mod.
I think Beth might have gone insane , nothing they do makes sense anymore, huge boost to them comes out and folks are forced to use GOG to avoid Thier updated version

I have a PS5 but will be getting a PC just so I can play this free mod. Great review, subbed.
One of the best things Bethesda can do for fallout right now is provide mounds of support to this mod team in an effort to port this fallout London over to console as a standalone expansion.
It's insane Todd is so mad at Obsidian for being better developers he's managed to convince his bosses it's a bad idea to print money with New Vegas-style outsourced in-between-quels for Fallout and TES.
Quick FYI: If the range stat is greater than accuracy stat on a weapon, you can still hit your targets in free aim. Accuracy is mainly in regard to V.A.T.S. use.
it looks like the musket pistol actually had a full, proper reload with no missed steps. many games that add black powder muzzle loaders cut the reload animation short in some way by entirely skipping a step of the process.

This mod didn't have to be created to figure out what state their games are in. The last good game created by Bethesda was Fallout 3 from 2008 and the last good Fallout created by an outside studio was New Vegas from 2011. Beautiful memories. I need to get back to NV.
Bethesda is the only gaming company that is so bad, that it's only remembered due to the modding community, modding their games. Anyone who don't have a problem with that, is the problem. There's no excuse for a triple A studio to be so bad at making videos games that they have to go get other small studios to make better games or rely on players to do their job for them. Majority of their games aren't even remembered for the plot, characters, and overall design. Black Isle studio (Obsidian) had to show them how fallout should be( they actually started the fallout series). Anyway the modding community once again proves how smarter and they are.

they will forever be blind and not see how actually good FO4 is, how bethesda made Fallout an actual relevant franchise and how they turned FO76 around. counting everyhting, I still don't get one thing: I understand criticism about FO4, but goddamn that game has such great enviromental storytelling, such great exploration, best gameplay of the franchise, ACTUAL good and memorable companions that you can even romance, you have crafting, building, upgrading, the best powerarmor system, imo has the best dlc (far harbor), and as much as I agree with new vegas having better choices/rpg elements, even if not by that much as everyone thinks, (the protagonist being voiced is also part of the reason) the game in itself is actually kinda deep; the lore is just too good, fallout's lore has to be, to me, one of the best out there, and the story was decent, while sidequests were also pretty good I cannot wait for FO5 and ES6
Yeah, the hate for Bethesda and especially Fallout 4 is definitely the most overblown thing in the entire videogame industry. They're obviously not without their flaws, but they're also far from being as terrible as the anti-bethesda echo chamber makes them out to be. Most people do it simply because they follow the trends, despite the fact that many of their parroted arguments are either hypocritical (can be perfectly applied to other fallout games or RPGs), incorrect or extremely exaggerated.
@@youarealwayscorrect The anti bethesda sheep always call NV the best as well like no, NV was literally the worst out of all of them. “Choices are better”. No, NV just gives you more end slides and at the end of the game doesn’t even give you the CHOICE to keep playing 💀

Good Vid. I am enjoying Fallout London a lot. had no crashes so far. some problems I did have was trying to get Vortex to stop mixing the steam version FO4 with the GOG version FO4. Gave up using Vortex. Vortex kept overwriting the MyGames save game folder between FO4 steam NG and GOG FO4 GTY version. Anyway, manually added plugin text file to recognize london mods that fixed the load problems of loosing london on game restart. 1-The main problem was the long, long, long load screens when going through doors. (Thought the game crashed, but it didn't.) 2-Another problem was setting the gamepad fast run (Left joystick push down), everytime I used it would take me out of game to the keyboard. If you go to game settings to change, you can not. - Overall the game is a fun game. Quests are good, voice acting is good.
The thing with the dog companion churchill is, that he seems to be bugging out for a lot of players, so it might have been a good idea to let him stay behind. A friend of mine was playing Fallout London and streamed over Discord, so that we could watch it and for some reason Churchill disappeared a lot of times and the last time he disappeared he completely vanished and instead there was "Dog". Something might have gotten mixed up, because for some reason Churchill got replaced there and then with Dogmeat as "Dog". And his inventory was also reset, meaning all the Junk from Churchill's inventory was gone. Apparently there are some of these low-tier minor bugs here and there. Doesn't take away the fact, that this project is extremely well done and deserves the praise.
I’ve been mostly a console player the majority of my life. Haven’t had a PC in years… basically around the time of the Fallout 1 and 2, though I hadn’t played those games. That aside, with the way things are going with Xbox and even PlayStation getting into releasing on PC, I was already interested in going back to PC, but hearing about Fallout: London is making that happen a lot sooner than I planned.
There's a Londoner playing it ESO, the buildings are real and in their real location. He knows London well and the places like the pubs that are virtually identical.

I have mixed feelings. The world building and characters are obviously stellar. This could easily be an official release. But, the representations of Britishness are sooooo stereotypical, exoticized, and patronizing. Like, Londoners are apparently all hooligans or knights or tommies or queen-and-country nationalists. This really leans into Todd-style Fallout (ie. post-apocalyptic 23rd century Boston has 18th century "Minutemen" for some reason). But, the whole point of Fallout -- like the very theme of the first game -- is that "from the ashes of nuclear devastation, a new civilization would struggle to arise." Taking cues from England's history is fine -- and it's a trope from British post-nuclear media that things would return to a medieval-like state (like in the Chrysalids or Threads). But, Fallout London basically treats English culture as trapped in the past and frozen in time: like there's nothing new that emerged after the UK's collapse, let alone after 1950 or so. I was surprised to see so many of the devs are actually British or from the Commonwealth: based on what I just wrote, I was sure they'd all be Yanks.
You nailed it. I never would have guessed any of the devs had been to Britain. It's like an experiment where they asked North Koreans what they think British people are like.
I've not had chance to play Fallout London but I've been watching some lets plays and it honestly feels like a whole new title of Fallout with it's own unique lore. Sure it's got some rough edges in places and there are issues but I'm sure over time those will be smoothed out.

With those two mods it's like playing a modded-up Stalker - taking cover and dodging attacks (or really armouring up) becomes paramount or you'll die after a few hits.
get your level up...
What? Bullet sponges are insane in this. Have you played the mod?
The crazy thing I love about Mods is it shows us that not only does Bethesda refuse to replace an outdated engine, they aren't even trying to maximize what they can get out of their current engine. Modders doing projects for free put out comparable, if not better quality stuff in similar times to Bethesda.
I agree. Just look at what is possible with the version of the engine Skyrim used.
@@finesthour97 Well, it wasn't possible in 2011. The PCs and consoles would burn. It's not just about the engine, it's about the hardware first.
@@scang7107They got those tools for years already though at Bethesda, they didn't change the engine in any way. Are you nuts?
‘Spread my ashes in the Eastuary…’

Is it playable on console?

The fact gog helped with the promo makes me love them more

That has always been the case with Bethesda. I've played Skyrim custom quests made by tiny teams or even single individuals that left Bethesda in the dust. Suddenly you realise that there are quite a lot of creative things you can do with that Engine. Bethesda just sucks.
It's really stupid when they re-release multiple versions of a game like Skyrim over a decade and the only thing they add to the gameplay is fishing.
thats the thing since skyrim ? endereal?? hello? skywind skyblivion soon.
They have to pay developers an hourly wage. If Bethesda doesn’t make money, we won’t get squat. It’s business.

If you check the actual stats on .280, it was a dumb round
It needed a 24" barrel to not even match 7.62x39 energy out of the 16.1" barrel on the AKM, and it was 9 lb using 20 rd mags no smaller than 7.62x51.

If y'all want a throwback that you may have missed, Autumn Falls for New Vegas has a stellar level of quality. It's much smaller in scope, but it really is an impressive piece of content. Easily the best DLC style mods in New Vegas.
Agreed that it's a bit of a hassle to make it run (Steam version here) but if you follow the steps it's great and had no issues or crashes so far (also installed Buffout 4 mod for stability).
As for the mod itself, it's proper posh, innit mate?! We need to thank these guys good and proper! Square up and donate if it tickles your fancy! (hope I got the british slang)
Been waiting for this for years. Beth should hire modders like no joke. They make amazing content FOR FREE.
Just made my first fallout London video on my channel and I am very proud of it. 😊
I loved the game and I am cooking more content.👍
The extension of life that these mods have put into FO3/NV and Elder Scrolls is unreal. Devs should more of them.
It looks wonderful. I think I'm going to need to install it on my other computer just so there is no conflict with my current install that has a lot of other mods. Is there a way to install it side by side on the same system, safely?
I love that the night is dark.
