I’d like to point out that using your ultimate will discard the top card of the villain deck, and if the duel ends because the villain progresses past the end of the villain track while a hero is in the ultimate zone, their ultimate automatically hits. However it’s unclear if this discards the top card of the villain deck as it usually does.
That's not right. The rule says your Ultimate only goes off automatically if you progress past the villain fury zone to duel end without veing Bashed. It wouldn't make sense to be bashed and be able to attack back.

The event cards are played before the next round starts I think, so if there is an event card on top after the current round of the duel, that will go off, then the next round starts

So you’d place the red blocks (indicating health or “Aura”) on the separate rings. One would be on a 70 and the other on 0. If you knock them down one HP then it’d be 69. You’d put the first one on 60 and the second one on 9.
Grumble74 To be honest, I wouldn’t count on it, the creators of RWBY (Rooster Teeth) came up with the idea of the game and Arcane Wonders helped make it, so other companies would probably need the rights from them to make their own version with their own characters
So just to check, you only put an objective card out at the start of the game and it remains until it's condition is fulfilled? and if it is fulfulled, does another objective take it's place?
Still a bit confused on timing of when to use semblances and "spent x for y" effects. Based on Ruby's ability having the additional damage for failing, I assume it has to be used before the villains card is revealed at least... Does this go for all semblances?
how are the rules changed with the 5th player? is it 4 heroes vs another player playing as the villian or 5 heroes vs the "NPC" vilian? or are both formats available?
Really love how the rules girls explains these boardgames and the team's animation makes it really easy to understand!
I just want them to create the "conquer remnant" strategy game from the show...

Combat Ready looks pretty fun, but it's a shame it doesn't have some of the other characters here. particularly Team JNPR. Ah well, still cool.

If the villain plays an event card, do I attack it or does the villain play another card along side the event one?

No, since you only gain 1 exp per "successful action" not per hit.

There's a marvel game called legendary it's somewhat like rwby combat ready but it's a card based game but has different scenarios

Some objectives have the side characters roll the dice in order to complete the objective

Another optional rule is a player can play as the villain.
