    The alcohol in the CeraVe Vitamin C is absolutely not enough to be drying, it's there as a penetration enhancer, it's downfall is how crazy fast it oxidizes. So sick of Alcohol in skincare being demonized, it's utterly not true!

    • @jameshutcho
      @jameshutcho ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It’s just the risk isn’t worth the reward when you can get other penetration enhancers without such a high risk of irritation

      Alcohol shouldn't be in any skincare. Ill never understand why they put it in spfs

      @@HillbillyYEEHAA That's why you should learn before commenting-alcohol STABALIZES SPF FILTERS-idiots on here. I wouldn't expect a hillbilly to put that much thought into education. Google it before looking dumb.

      I believe it comes to seeing the type of skin one has. If a person is extremely dry skinned, then denatured alcohol can worsen the situation. But I also think formulation is the main thing: if denatured alcohol is paired with harmonizing hydrating ingredients, then it should be fine 😀

      @@MatMat-qi2rd totally agree, my main issue is that the people that demonize it flat out demonize it. Like parabens the most documented and one of the safest preservatives and is only a problem if you’re singularly allergic. I’m sure he demonized parabens as well wit ZERO explanation that they are NOT dangerous. It’s fear mongering at the worst and ignorant at best. But it gets him views and engagement, he’s knows what he’s doing, it’s a business and that profit and loss statement need to show profits.

    My personal Cerave must-haves: cream in a jar + SA cream + european version of sunscreen SPF 50 + Night cream (unfortunately not yet available in EU) + both retinol serums. (I was used to buying their cleanser for dry skin, but I am not anymore as it started make my skin feel dry...)

    Still searching for a replacement for their night cream in my routine, and I'm continually disappointed. Nothing I've tried from "more ethical" brands seems capable of fully moisturizing my dry, dehydrated, rosacea-prone skin without triggering irritation.

    • @MatMat-qi2rd
      @MatMat-qi2rd ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I agree. I haven't been able to find an alternative for their wonderful night cream... the best cream ever...

    • @Snuzzled
      @Snuzzled ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If that cream is the only thing that works for your skin and the rest of your routine is more ethical products, just use it. You're already reducing your harm in so many ways in the rest of your routine, and youve only got one life to live. No reason your skin should suffer just because of one product.

    I just bought that sunscreen today. Dr drey recommended it in one of her videos and I’ve been looking for a good one. Hopefully it’s good on my skin because I’m so tired of buying/trying to find a sunscreen that will work for me

    I stopped using it for that reason because it's not cruelty free it really hurts my heart because in all honesty it really is a great drugstore brand especially if you're just working on healing your skin barrier because sometimes I overdo it with my prescriptions from my dermatologist and it really was helpful for a few days with their products but because of the fact that I can't get past animal suffering because of it I have to look for other options I wish that all companies would stop with the animal testing we are in 2023 there's really no excuse for them to continue to use animals when they have enough people who are willing to be Guinea pigs other for free because they get products afterwards Or because they will pay them to be test subjects so the only thing I can wrap my head around is with animals they don't have to worry about hearing the word no and they don't have to pay them it breaks my heart that they suffer so much I can't stand this it brings me to tears every time I hear about these things or see these videos of these animals that are suffering so much For medical purposes for human beings I'm sorry I know there's people out there who think that it's better to test on a dog or some random animal than to do it to a human being but I have to disagree with you we have rights as people we don't get treated badly if we say no it means no we wouldn't do things to ourselves that caused pain and discomfort If someone does those things to you it's a crime why is it any different for these poor animals they go through so much pain and they yell out in agony sometimes where their bodies are so broken and blistered after these tests but they say no and the only way they can with their agony and their discomfort yet they continue to do these things to them We have all these rights for human beings human beings are able to be what they want to be they are able to use what pronouns they want they are able to be gay or straight they are able to wear whatever they want to wear they are able to do whatever job they put their mind to do and as people we must respect that because we are all human beings but when it comes to animal They are treated like nothing and nothing infuriates me more than that because I don't care what anyone says they have a soul and they deserve respect I love animals the very few times I have accidentally hit a squirrel or something while I'm driving because they ran out before I could see them I literally break down and cry because I would never ever hurt something on purpose I wish other people were the same as me don't bring pain and suffering to anything not only is that bad karma but it shows that you don't have a soul If you could continue to cause pain to something and that doesn't bother you and you do these things for the sake of science or because you're getting paid a lot of money to do it in my opinion you have lost your humanity at that point I know this might sound very extreme what I'm going to say and please do not look at me as a bad person because I promise you I am not I love all things Humans and animals alike but I must compare this to something that happened that was unspeakable the holocaust was absolutely horrible there was also the war camps in the Civil War that were close to the same thing as the holocaust where they starved these people to death and tortured them I compare those things to labs That hold these animals and torture them on a daily basis and refuse to feed them and when they do feed them they force them to do the horrible things they want them to just to get a scrap of food please let these things sit in people please stop supporting brands that test on animals you honestly have no idea what these animals go through I promise You that if you only knew the TRUTH I promise you would NEVER HELP THEM BY BUYING THEIR PRODUCTS!!!
