Beautiful car. Love the car. Love the idea. Totally understand the M/C thing. I started a much cruder version of something like that. 1977 Chevy wagon. First summer, removed the roof and drove it on a road trip with a buddy. Second summer, removed the doors, added a foot peg where the lower door hinge was and kept driving it. Was thinking about taking it further, but needed to focus on finishing grad school so sold it to a buddy. Subscribed!
🏆🛠👏 What a great story. You DID what so many people just dream of doing. What a cool build. It was an ugly body (fake hood scoop?) when you started and now it's a rolling work of art, fabrication, and design.
What you "lose" on aerodynamics you gain in weight-loss, besides that,it's his car to do with as he pleases and not be criticized! Purists need not apply! vettecarts are hot rodding in its most basic form so....
I'm just at a complete loss on why!!!! Since you know you're ripping the car apart you didn't have to wait for a manual transmission car!!! Just convert an automatic to manual! Since the car is completely apart it would be super easy!!
Economics and time. Car was $4200...now go try to find a ZF6-40 transmission and if you can even find one for sale, the price for a good one will quickly eat into any price you could get an automatic for....then you gotta swap in clutch pedal, master cylinder, buy a clutch and flywheel for another $1,000, then get the flywheel (externally balanced) balanced, and finding someone who still knows how to balance a flywheel isn't super easy. An automatic to manual swap is easily $2,000 in parts alone, not to mention the labor. If you tell me to put a different transmission in there because you can't find a ZF6-40 for sale, no you're talking about a custom driveshaft and c-beam modification. Your swap sounds so simple to say....not really simple or economical.
@JeremyinCars lol you really don't know what you're doing!!! T56s are everywhere!!! And cheap!!! If you're limited in skills and almost as important don't know anyone with any knowledge then I get it. The only big thing to me is the Dana 44.
@@C4VETTELT1 you're right, I don't know what I'm doing. I bow to your superior knowledge. I'm glad a T56 swap into an auto car is something you've breezed through several times.
@JeremyinCars hey don't get me wrong!! It's an awesome kart and looks to be done quite well!! I'm just shocked such a decent appearing car got hacked up is all!! Hotrod definitely did it right with a car that was so far gone that nobody was going to revive it!! I'm just a huge C4 fan and to see a good one get hacked up just made me cringe!!
You need "permission" from your wife?? Words like "I'm not allowed to have..." are not those of a true man. So, you're telling me she wears the pants? So-called "men" keep saying things like this. MAN UP!!!
Let me know when you reach a quarter century of marriage with 8 kids (this might tell you a little about the pants situation). I'm firmly entrenched in my manhood. Insecurities lead to lashing out.
@@JeremyinCars 😆 Did you get mommy's "permission" to respond to me in such a sad way? A very sad and pathetic attempt to justify softness. There's absolutely not excuse, regardless of experience or who's involved, for your to essentially get down on your knees as an adult or man. Unless...her last name is Bobbit. If so, I would understand your fear in her. Regardless, stay on your knees if you wish. After all, it's your life.
@@JeremyinCars Other than that, I actually watched your video, liked it and hit the like button. Not at all a bad exo. Hell, I even subscribed because I want to see how you did it all including the suspension you mentioned at the end of this video. So yeah, I'm not pissed about "permission" or "manhood." Good content is good content.
The loophole, I love it!
That car is awesome. I would definitely recommend putting in a side bash bar though, for your own safety.

This should be shown to anyone about to embark on a project car
great video! looks like fun.

Yes, totally fake hood scoop. Thank you for the compliments!
saw your wheels on fb and i thought it was sick!
seems like a genuine guy - nice build - great video - and the wife is correct in asserting that you do not buy or ride a motorcycle
Thank you for the kind words, and my wife appreciates your agreement with her. :)
Thanks, great story
Glad you enjoyed it!
Looks like fun...
OH! So much fun!
Wow! Very well done. Thank you for convincing me NOT to try to do this. :)
Thanks! It takes time, but you can do it!
I'm about to start same journey with my c4 my wife just gave me the go ahead to do an exo build with the c4s I have.
Sweet! What year car? And auto or manual?
Nice tube design. What state did you register it in?
Thank you!
Hi, Is your friend who built the cage making them to sell? I'm interested in talking to him.
He does to cage work for customers, but everything is custom, not a kit. Are you local to the St. Louis area?
@@JeremyinCars Close, I'm in the Kansas City area
If he would be interested in offering kits, I'm sure he would do well
@@thomaswarmoth1334 Look me up @JeremyInCars on Instagram and PM me there and I can share is info. He doesn't have a website.
Hi, I reached out to you on your Instagram page. Is there a problem?
do you have the builld plans?
No, I just paid attention as I took things apart. Labeled things, and looked at pictures of other carts for what I liked on the tubes.
its the hair cotton, its the hair!
Nice build. Use some wire loom! Lol
Thanks! I rewired the whole car since that video and I used some loom. Check out some of the newer videos :)
@JeremyinCars haha hell yeah will do
you lose so much in areodynamics when you remove the body panels, the wind tunnel says it doubles the coefficient thing,
Totally agree!

Well. They told Cleeter Leroy wasn't going to go what it does so... It is a brick. And stupid fast.
Aero isn't everything..... power to weight is why these make sense
*To try to get as famous as Leroy*. The end. I didn't even need to watch your video. Lol.
Right? How does someone do an exoskeleton Corvette video and NOT reference the most famous of them all, Cletus McFarland’s ‘LEROY the Savage’?!?!
basically an orange version of cleetus mcfarlands LEROY.
Totally different goals than him with the car, and a different starting chassis, but I can see why the initial comparison is made.

@JeremyinCars and if you only paid $4,200 you could've put some money into it and sold it for $12,000-15,000 and have more money to play with!!!
