    I love how Dr. Ross harkens back to when he was 19 and the pivotal moments in that stage of life.
    One of the biggest moments in my life was when I was 19, arriving back to my shared apartment with my roommates from university. An epiphany descended upon me from the Almighty. I immediately knew that God could not possibly be an old man with a big white beard on a throne in the sky. It was that simple. That set me free. Free to explore the nature of Truth, of what is truly good, of beauty, etc. I could write several books on just how I came full circle to my faith in Christ. It took me to all ends of the earth.

      Dr. Ross blessings appreciate your gifts and your diligence in serving. I'm neither as intelligent or diligent as you sir, think ths spirit has revealed some truths to me. 1 that prophecies parables and as embedded as scripture is just occurred to me that covers most if not all truth. For example Days as days or literal days, is the universe 13.7 billion years old or six days old? Or is it both. Time is relative so as some podcasts point out if we could instantly travel half way towards the singularity or center. The universe would appear to be 7 billion years old I we go to the C ter the universe would literally appear to be 6.8 days old. This is simplified and not precise. Also, your seem to think it is the 7th day but my study as led by the spirit it is still the 6th day very late in the 6th day. This was brought to me by the words🎉 of the messiah whe🎉n he is interrogated by pharisees when questioned about working on the sabbath. From memory. Since the beginning til now my father has gone about his work, I also will be about my father's work. The spirit highlighted this through a word. Study showed me that assuming that "o. The 7th day go's rested" is past tense for god not us. He does not view time he exists through and outside of all time so to him he has rested on his seventh day even though from our perspective his seventh day has not occurred yet. You ststw creation is over. Where about, I have knit you together in your mother's womb for such a time as this?

    I loved this lecture and it gave me so much clarification of issues, questions. I did find it strange that he said Neanderthals didn’t wear clothing as I’m sure that’s incorrect. Also, I think that they became extinct for several reasons but mainly because God knew that we were the new and improved model and that he likely didn’t want to have us both exist together any longer for his own reasons, whatever they be. I do understand that some of us still carry their dna, which is no biggie but interesting for sure. I also have long understood that species are created fully formed, all at once and that creatures don’t evolve into other forms, it’s unproven nonsense. I love the thought of God creating living beings out of his will, out of thin air as it were! It’s beautiful, miraculous but also is the only thing that makes sense.

    • @cynic150
      @cynic150 ปีที่แล้ว

      i do not think that serious biologists would agree with that last part of yours. Complete species came about out of thin air? Come on!

    • @SamytheGreek
      @SamytheGreek ปีที่แล้ว

      Out of thin air" is not correct, and "from nothing" is incorrect. We use those fraises all the time but I wonder how any of us can mean them literally. God didn't create Adam out of thin air or from nothing, He did't even create the universe from nothing, out of thin air. As for Neanderthal, the findings are inconclusive, it may simple be that scientists contaminated their samples, or it could be as complicated as tho Neanderthals are animal, somehow their DNA is so close to human that cross breeding could have occurred. Adam's descendants became reprobate before the Noah's flood event, they may have been committing bestiality.

    • @SamytheGreek
      @SamytheGreek ปีที่แล้ว

      How sure are you that "that is incorrect"? These scientists deal with probabilities. what are the probabilities that 2 different species can mate and reproduce?

However, Exodus 20: 8-11 ties them directly to 24 hour periods. If Mr. Ross's theory is correct than Exodus would be wrong. It would take too much to point out his numerious other misinterpretations. However, the bottom line is this. The creation as described in Genesis and the modern universe of science can never be harmonized because they are completely different realities.

    @54:00 concerning Adam and Eve's children marrying brother and sister. It didn't have to continue for very long, the Bible says that Adam and Eve had many sons and daughters ,they didn't all have to marry each other, it must have been that the first few brother and sister marriages had to occur but soon after that it could have been uncle and niece, cousin to cousin. It's not that big a deal.

    • @showmeanedge

      Secular science has their "Mitochondrial Eve" - the woman that we can all trace our mitochondrial DNA back to. They claim that there must have been women before her but obviously there had to have been a first human woman, even from a naturalist standpoint.
      In any case, she existed and knowing that she did we have to infer that inbreeding happened in human history. Her daughters were the only women to pass on her DNA. It's interesting to ask a nonbeliever why they're comfortable with this incest happening in a world of cold determinism but are suddenly offended if God allowed it.
      At the end of the day it's just another dishonest argument on their side - genetic bottlenecks have to exist in all species even from the evolutionary point of view (when species evolve there can't be more than two new members: the likelihood of it happening once seems to be astronomical but there needs to be two who find each other and mate) and that's seen as perfectly fine until somebody mentions Jesus and then suddenly they're scoffing and nudging each other over the "immorality" or "scientific ignorance" of God.

      One explanation is that he’s “talking “ to himself in the triune being of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. How do we understand this triune nature? We don’t! It’s one of the mysteries and also just a way for the limited mind of a human to grasp a concept that is beyond our ability to comprehend. The creation cannot understand the ultimate creator and to even attempt to fully “know” is folly. The book was written for humans to understand as best as we can in our current, embodied and limited way. I personally embrace and accept that, at least while I’m living in a human body I’ll never be able to understand or comprehend the fullness of the creator.

      Hi, the Holy Trinity doctrine is critical to one's salvation.
      Some Christians go even to say if one rejects this doctrine, one is not saved.
      Let me explain:
      ▪︎I have searched long and hard, no one - pastors, Bible scholars and teachers can understand the Trinity.
      ▪︎If it is truly incomprehensible, or comprehensible to only a few, then how can the Christian community ever know who Jesus is.
      ▪︎If one cannot know who Jesus is, how does one love, follow and obey him?
      ▪︎Then, in what manner, can one hope to have his/her sins forgiven and be granted everlasting life?
      So, you see - holding by faith to the Holy Trinity as basis of salvation, only leads to one losing his/her salvation.
      If you find it more comforting, keep the Holy Trinity - but leave in the back-burner of your mind.
      But in your daily communion with God, apply this knowledge to establish grounding of your relationship with them.
      ▪︎The Father is the LORD God - the Almighty and Most High of all.
      ▪︎The Son is Jesus Christ, Son of the LORD God, sent by the Father as Son of Man, to bring about salvation of the world.
      ▪︎The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the LORD God and the spirit of Jesus - as one.
      Until you have come to the Father (Jn 14:6), address Him as "the LORD". (For other gods may respond if you asked for "God".)
      Until you are certain you personally know Jesus, call out to him as "Lord Jesus" or "Jesus Christ". (For there are others who also bear the name "Jesus")
      May the LORD God bless you through the ministry of Jesus Christ, Holy Spirit.

      The question you should be asking is - why did god create the universe twice?
      Genesis 1 to Genesis 2 3 ends with ‘Thus the heavens and the earth were completed’.
      Then Genesis 2 4 starts creation again with ‘This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created, when the Lord God made the earth and the heavens’
      Why did the god make it twice?
      The patriarchs, Abraham, Noah, Jacob, etc. were Caananites and worshipped a council of gods with El at the head, he had a wife/consort Ashera and his council of gods included Baal, Mot, Yam, Ashtar, Shahar and many others who all had different duties and responsibilities, collectively called the Elohim, you see evidence of this in the names of people and places, ie Isra-el, Dani-el etc. etc.
      It wasn’t until around 500-600BCE, during the Babylonian exile that the banished priests began worshipping Yahweh, a monotheistic deity. They rewrote the old myths and legends to urge the Israelites to worship the new god concept. That’s why there are two creation accounts, two flood stories, two sets of Ten Commandments. Genesis 1 to Genesis 2 verse 3 is the account of the Elohim creating the heavens and earth, in the Hebrew Bible it calls them the Elohim, translated simply as ‘god’ in the English versions. “Then god (Elohim) said, let us (plural) make mankind in our (plural) image, in our (plural) likeness”. Genesis 2 1 “Thus the heavens and earth were completed” and the account finishes with the Elohim resting on the seventh day. Then Genesis 2 verse 4 begins the story again with Yahweh (translated as ‘Lord god’ or ‘Lord’) as the creator. “This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created, when the Lord god (Yahweh) made the earth and the heavens”.
      After the conversion to monotheism the worship of the old gods was frowned upon, statues of Ashera were smashed and burnt, and her name removed from the biblical record, and in Kings, Elijah tests the priests of Baal before discrediting and slaughtering them for worshipping the gods that their own ancestors, the patriarchs, worshipped.
      Psalm 82: El (god) has taken his place in the divine council, among the Elohim (gods) he judges.

I like this guys arguments very much but I would prefer a more humble response to young earthers because I don’t think his arguments are any more reliable than the young earthers. I think there is just too much that we don’t know and he does align the creation with historical Science however science could completely change their theories tomorrow. As I wrote this he kind of talked about being respectful and nice to eachother and I respect that. However he does not have a monopoly on the truth so I like his take but I’m not convinced he is right. I see it as a compelling argument. But I also see the young earth as a compelling argument also. I think we should follow the evidence and our beliefs but also be open to the possibility we are wrong.

    Do animals go to heaven? It’s a question most of us have pondered, especially after losing a beloved animal companion. The Bible actually has a lot to say on this topic. And for those of us who hope to spend eternity with our animal family members, it’s good news.
    Several Bible verses depict animals in heaven:
    The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them. The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. The infant will play near the cobra’s den, and the young child will put its hand into the viper’s nest. They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.”
    -Isaiah 11:6-9
    Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying, ‘To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!’”
    -Revelation 5:13

    Don't forget that some will come to tempt you with the bible in their hands! By carefully fooling you into believing the interpretation of "day age" they are opening a large gateway towards reinterpreting other important passages! Read Basil the Great or if you want something more adapted to your modern ear, read Father Seraphim Rose. Re-read Genesis the KJV and you will easily see that our Lord is all powerful, and he created the heaven and the earth using literal 6 days of 24h each. He did not create inferior creatures then superior creatures, or some creatures and then after a milion years some more. In Genesis we get a picture of an Almighty God creating all that is needed beautiful and ready to multiply - complete creatures. Concerning the laws of physics that do not change look again at genesis. God did not change the laws, he just added new laws as punishments (intense physical labour in order to get food out of the earth, multiplied child bearing suffering for the women, decay, death etc) Man became evil and he was chased out of the place that was originally intended for him so he would not eat from the tree of life and become immortal. We are now in our fallen state away from the glory of God which explains all the sufferings that we have to get through.

    Not sure what's going on here. If made so plausible with all these qualifications (an education in itself; who has it?), then the Bible should have mass appeal. Everything makes specific sense now whereas there was mystery before with the onus on believing rather than understanding. If we were to rewrite the Bible the way Dr. Ross has it, would we still have, as a result, the Bible, or some other work? I am not sure where to draw a line. So many versions of the Bible have been written but all maintain a high degree of the supernatural and hard to grasp. Why has the "Dr. Ross Bible" not yet been written? Or has it? And how far can we bend science to incorporate the "facts" of the Bible? I'd love to follow Dr. Ross, but am not sure about the role and extent of interpretation, even, or especially, if correct! What happens to the Bible and us? What remains to believe? And wasn't faith the cornerstone of Christianity? I am now very much puzzled. “If God used unique creative processes to bring the universe into being, one cannot expect to understand the universe by applying “standard models” that are, by nature, oblivious to creative processes.”
    EXACTLY! So why would any believer in a Creator God accept the secular theory of the origin of the universe when it is built on the assumption that there could not have been any miracles. Why would God choose to create the universe in such a way as to fit the secular assumptions about it’s origin? It would almost be like He is trying to hide the fact that He was involved in the creation/origin of the universe. But that is not like God. On the contrary, He puts His glory on display so to me, it makes no sense whatsoever to try to read the Bible in such a way as to harmonize with the godless secular view of the origin of the universe.
