    Great ride again. There's nothing better than riding fast on a long dirt road, the bike pulls, cutting the landscape like the blade and you standing up high and feeling the freedom. So glad i subscribed to you Channel. Waiting for the next one. Much love from Europe 😊

    I am a really good road rider, was a pro at one time, i'm so so offroad. I have the Africa Twin Dct and I can tell you the nature of how good the DCT works is a savior to venture off into sticky situations. It is so easy to get out of trouble on the DCT. I also think the weight of the Yamaha is a big advantage. On a trip that covers both road and dirt the Honda is clearly much better but if I were doing more than 2/3 off road I would get the Yamaha

    Just started riding. Adv is most appealing to me. I bought a crf 250 rally and love it. Learning the fundamentals on it. Bit of a Dakar wannabe. But ultimately this is the bike I want. Not ready yet but your video keeps me motivated to get better. Plan to take this bike to Alaska and back from Socal. Thanks for sharing.

It felt it really really heavy. Now I'm thinking on buying the Tenere, I will not use it for single tracks or very complicated terrain, but i do travel around all kind of roads. Hey guys - serious question. I'm considering these two bikes. My heart says Africa Twin, but I keep hearing how badly they handle on road. Latest advice is the T7 will eat the AT on a windy tarseal road. Does anyone have an opinion on that? I desperately want to believe the AT will be awesome, but hoping won't make it true. I love the low center of gravity, ergonomics and super-low seat height of the AT and think it looks gorgeous - also I've always wanted to own a Honda. The T7 seems like it is better on-road and better off-road. Comfort is nice, but considering you can ride the full length of New Zealand in less than 48hrs, it isn't my primary concern. My first priority is carving up roads super fast, then feel-good factor, then off-road ability, then comfort. I've had the Africa Twin explained to me as a very soft KTM950ADV. Would love some thoughts, until I can find a second-hand AT in my area to test ride. Cheers, Campbell :) - anyone heard anything new about the AT850?

    • @raphaelg2448
      @raphaelg2448 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Africa Twin is the best adventure bike off-road. The Tenere 700 is the best if you want 50/50 road/off-road because the Africa Twin isn't as nimble on pavement. The Africa Twin on straight though, pavement or not, so if you're doing a lot of highway, the AT might be a good choice for that too.

    • @actstuntcam
      @actstuntcam 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@raphaelg2448 Thanks for your thoughts. I think this is the general consensus. I guess I just want to like the AT because it is pretty. The T7 looks ok too, but I'm just not that excited by it. I do think Yamaha deserves my money though. Thank God someone has built a bike without all the stupid numpty rider-aids and modes. So I should buy the T7 for that reason alone. It is mainly the seat height I don't like. You can get both feet flat on the floor on the AT and still have massive scope to drop forks and rear ride height and still have massive ground clearance. You can ride the full length of NZ in 48hrs, so highway ability isn't my greatest concern. I can see how that makes sense in America, where there are super long straight interstate highways. I've never understood why anyone would ride a bike on straight roads - surely you would just drive a car (more comfortable, safer, less tiring etc.) Cheers for your thoughts.

      @@actstuntcam I've been made aware that the Tenere 700 actually behave better off-road than the Africa-twin, which is crazy to me, but that person owns the two bikes (AT and T700) while I just test rode them. the difference in weight is not huge AT 1100 2020 with 18 L of gasoline with complete line termignoni 218 k consumption 4,5l / 100 YAM T700 with 16 l of gasoline 204 kg consumption 6,5 l / 100 ... yes 12 kg at the end of the day TT it counts, but personally I would have preferred a 500 cc

    • @AdventureMotoEnduro

      yes its huge difference more like 35kg less ,T7 feels much narrower and agile like a enduro bike type handling ,

    Brand new Tenere 700 is around £9k-£10k. You can also get a decent, low milage used Honda Africa Twin for around the same price or 3-5 year old with 7k-10k miles and safe £2k-£3k.

  • @cosmiccharlie8294

    Wonder how long before some super motos that Tenere?

  • @thejohnnerparty
    @thejohnnerparty 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    That was impressive riding for the size of the bikes. So what did you think of the Tenere 700 with the Africa Twin?

    • @AdventureMotoEnduro
      @AdventureMotoEnduro  4 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Africa twin better suited to big guys that lift it off the ground and like lots of arm chair comfort and lugging power for all the shit they take on a trip ,great for long distance outback travel on dirt highways , T7 more suited to the aggressive rider that still has fire in the blood from his enduro days and still likes to throw the bike around like enduro bike but is looking for some on road comfort smooth twin wide ratio power the big bore enduro bikes just dont have the level of comfort for smashing big miles 690 or 701 will be better off road on enduro trails but onroad it sucks ,,the T7 is 50% 50% perfect balance of on and off road were the AT is more 70% road 30% offroad

    Nice video!! For long travels through countries with limited high tech mecanic support, not looking for high riding performance, rather mechanic reliability and comfort, which bike you prefer and recommend??? Thanks. Greetings from Bolivia

    • @AdventureMotoEnduro
      @AdventureMotoEnduro  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Africa twin for long distance comfort lower compression motor can run on low octain fuel but is heaver and more tiring in challenging terrain , but Tenere is lighter weight and more nibble ,both have positives and negatives

It would be AT if my lady was going with me though, but she woun't so why have extra weight and cost of AT...

      i wanted black out the cockpit and little higher bend not much just feels right when standing with lower rally wide pegs as well .. and stronger bar, i also made carbon fiber gps crossbar above the display..the stock one is solid alloy ,and fitted short black brake lever and protaper clutch perch and lever needle roller pivot ,protaper lock on grips

    I own at 2021 atas and know several t7 owners. You can’t compare these really. For someone who needs to ride quite a distance to enjoy all the adv terrain where I live a t7 just doesn’t work. The fuel range and lack of creature comforts make the difference for me. I’ve done 2600 kms(50/50 road and dirt) on a modified klr and the Hwy sections were not fun.

    • @AdventureMotoEnduro
      @AdventureMotoEnduro  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agree you cant compare a t7 with a klr , t7 will eat it off road and on road ,T7 more fun off road then a AT ,depends if you want to have fun in the dirt or want auto cruiser with all the bells
