- A quick walk around and short drive of my pride and joy.
I’m really lucky to have such a 🚙 car.
A nice 500hp LS3 V8 manual in Slipstream Blue.
The car badly needs a wash, I’ll be detailing again soon.This car is usually pristine, I have enjoyed driving her while the weather is great, so I will spend time fussing over her when the rain and heat start.
I had to pick the kids up from school so I decided to give them a treat.
No highways on this video only a short 80km section.
DRIVE RESPONSIBLY
I recommend buying one of these awesome cars if you can find the one with low kms at a decent price.
This one is definitely not for sale.

Hold on to it mate as this car like all Aussie made cars is now a part of our proud manufacturing history. I bought my last car a Holden SSV sportwagon and I have no interest in anything being produced now.
I’m the same, no Camaro,V8’s or anything else really grab me now. If I won the lotto, I could see myself in a Dodger Challenger Demon but I would definitely keep my Redline too.
I love the Sportswagons, best of both worlds, I’m sure you must love it!

Love it mate.. I’ve got a white 2017, black out kit with some work done and dropped a bit on MCA coilovers and the handling compared to the FE2 is amazing. It’s now like a go cart with 450hp. Love the blue
Hi Rich, I really like the white with the black, they look amazing. I would like to lower mine but I can’t get into the garage with anything lower than the stock FE3. It’s a bit of a problem unless we buy another house.🤔

Great vid and a beautiful VF ...While not a Holden owner I still like them a lot as I do with the Aussie Ford Falcon which I do own and love ...Got a FG XR6 and a beaut older AU ll Futura ...The real tragedy is the total demise of the iconic Holden company which if anybody even 2-3 years ago had said would happen I would have called them insane ...Greatest respect but the worst thing is that the final car called Commodore wasn't a true Commodore ..The VF like yours was the last proper Holden not the European Insignia based one ...Looks like your Redline is in great hands ..Cheers ..
Thanks for your comments. I agree , it was such a shame that Holden closed, and the end of car manufacturing in Australia. It’s really sad. I feel sad that Ford stopped making the Falcons too, awesome cars. Sounds like you have some beautiful cars too.

Nice car mate. That blue really suits the styling changes in series 2. I've got one of the Series 1 Redline's in Fantale, it was actually the first VF Redline sedan in Tassie (very early build) and like you, I have no plans to sell it.
Hi Daniel, I love that Fantail colour, n fact I nearly brought a Stratocaster guitar in 2014 in a colour very close to your car’s colour. Not many cars in that colour so I would think your will be worth an extra premium for that.
It’s such a shame Holden are not around any more, the VE/VF range were awesome.
The European Commodore just missed the point in my humble opinion.
I’ll look out for your car in January, we are planning on visiting Tassie if everything goes well. There won’t be many Redlines in that colour .

Hi Gav, nice car good choice Holden👍. We’ve been in Australia for 36 years and the only cars I’ve been driving was Holden and now VW. Had HR 161 ci station wagon, HQ 202 auto s/w, HX 253 (4.2L) sedan and WB 3.3L Ute. The HX I kept for almost 18 years. The best car for it’s time. Bought it 8 years old, 2nd owner. Later I got it gas converted. Beautiful car. Sad I sold it. BDW I subscribed your channel since you had the bet with Vrata. I recon he’s gonna drink the ugly beer 🍺👍

You had a great range of cars, I’m a big fan of the 253 and the HJ/HX/HZ cars, especially the Sandman’s. I also like the HR , beautiful style and from the same year I was born.
I bet you miss the HX, it would be worth good coin nowadays. And the Radial Tuned Suspension, much better than the previous models.

I'm from Melbourne. Nice car brother, enjoy the ride mate. She is a keeper and hope you will hold on to it for as long as you can. I have the same one but in dark green (peacock green)and its a auto, wish it was a manual but still very lucky to have it. Always get the looks and comments in public. Just got it last year as well. I've always had commodores but always wanted a V8 and finally got my hands on the best built V8 ever. I have done lots of cosmetic changes and some mechanical upgrades. At the moment I'm pumping 370hp at the rear wheel. Next step is the headers and cats and dyno again. It all comes down to cost. Hope you get your supercharger soon. Cheers mate. Great to hear from you Alex. My wife and I really like the Peacock Green, it’s amazing how the colour changes in different light. You are right, the LS3 ticks all the boxes. I’m a bit like you with Commodores too. In the late 80’s I had a V8 Sandman, then a VC SS (replica) with a 308 stroked to 355. Then the next 3 Commodores were V6’s until my wife allowed me to have this beast I have now in the driveway. I was quite impressed with my last car, 2012 VE SV6 but the LS3 with the W375 is an altogether different beast.

When I was young I was a petrol head I had a 1973 XA Falcon GT 351 Cleveland V8 4 speed beautiful car I am sorry that I sold it, anyway I have subscribed to your channel cheers Tom
Thank you Tom. I’m more of a Holden man than a Ford man but I certainly appreciate the fine cars they put out , I nearly brought a XB GT but the beige colour paint was jus to big a hurdle , so I bought a Holden Sandman.
I reckon you are lucky to have owned the 351 in a Cleveland block, the big heads and valves made it a monster..

Same Year, colour, Auto & mine has the Walkinshaw Pk as well. Ive added installed the following on mine: NGK TR6IX (One step colder spark plugs), Granatelli Leads (zero ohms) and an Elite Engineering Oil Catch Can
Have Purchased a set of (new!) KW Coilovers V3's and will be installing them this week.(Coilovers can be left at standard height- beauty is: fully adjustable bounce and rebound)

I’m soon getting a retractable Bolland in the garage and hopefully I’ll be able get my wife to agree on a W547 upgrade.

@@gavinpavlina Hi Gavin, some guys are charging over the top for just the W375. Got quoted 7K for it which includes a custom tune. Sounds like a lot for OTR, Headers, Exhaust and Tune. Maybe I should get them to include Porting of the Headers :)
Hi Andrew, you definitely can get the same package cheaper but not through Walkinshaw .
I paid the 6.5k extra for the W375 when the car was delivered new to Holden who had a commercial agreement with Walkinshaw. For me it was mostly for the warranty as the kit was installed by Holden so I was really paying for the peace of mind. But I wouldn’t hesitate to drop the 20+ K for the W547 upgrade if I could afford it. The W375 is excellent, smooth and streetable when needed or a angry beast when required. My mate Dave has a W547 in his SS and it is a missile. I’m really curious to see what mine would be like as it is a manual and his is a auto.
I hope to shoot the W547 vid very soon, maybe this week.
My next step after that would be to Stroke it out to 400+ci.

I haven’t driven much around Central Queensland, I just assumed that the roads got worse the further north one drives. I guess all of the regional areas get forgotten about...

Hi Adam, thanks for watching . There are heaps of cool cars in Melbourne, I’m sure you will find one at a fair price when the time comes. So much choice there, not much choice up here in Cairns, and the identical cars can cost 2k or 3k more than Melbourne prices.

If you want one, you'd probably be best off buying ASAP, they're currently going up in price rather down due to Holden's demise. I bought 2016 Redline in 2019 for $43k, I've gotten the kilometres up to 40,000 from 20,000, and it currently goes for $10k more than I paid for it according to Redbook and Carsales.
I reckon they are a good investment. I still drive mine regularly when the weather is fine. I considered just parking it on car stands and keeping her really low kms but decided that I wanted to drive her too. Worth more now than I paid for her new. Both my Ninja kids want to buy my car but that’ll be a long time off if I get my way.😳🙏🚙🤘

Hi Gavin this is Jordan’s car reviews here. What month and date is the car? There’s a build tag in the front passenger door that tells you what month and date the car is. I would really love to see a full review on your VF2 SSV redline and all those other Holden’s that you mentioned please.The car being the last of an Aussie icon and only having have done 7500KM in the last 4 years I wouldn’t use it every day. There’s another TH-camr called ZacBaldy who’s in Brisbane and he has a breeze 2008 Ford falcon XR6 turbo and a Nissan R33 Skyline and his friend has a Ford FG Falcon XR8 Ute in octane orange. Can you please do a road trip in a 2014 Ford FG Falcon XR6 in kenetic blue please. You should get a loan on it and use it as your daily. The is in Western Australia and its 18’888 and if you don’t have the money you can get a loan and pay the bank back each week. I will come up with more stuff in the comments when you upload next. Hi Jordan’s Car Review, Thanks for the comment. My car is a April 15 2016 build. I had the car delivered new with the W375 Walkinshaw pack on 30 May 2016. She is really just a Sunday driver, I do an average of 144 kms a month. I still want to drive her but I keep it in a new condition .
The XR6 sounds great but I am really happy with my 2002 Hilux Dual Cab which is my daily, I have put 36,000kms on that since I brought my Redline.🚙. It’s a bit rough but Is very practical and handy.

Absolutely, it was a disgraceful decision. No more manufacturing in this fine country is a detriment to the economy overall, not to mention awesome Aussie car designs . Hi James, thanks for watching. I was very inclined to have 20’s on my car but after living in Cairns and these terrible roads for so long I opted for 19’s. I do think the 20’s look better and I think it was only a small price difference, but unfortunately the further north you go , the worse the roads get. If I lived in Perth or Canberra I would have definitely had 20’s.
If I win the lotto , I will get 20’s and have both, hopefully a W547 upgrade too🙏🙏🙏.

Gday, enjoyed your video, very informative. After 20 years since my first SS commodore, i managed to pick up a last month build 2017 unbadged SS ex NSW police vehicle and it brings a smile to my face every time i drive it, thankfully i kept my VE, also ex cop car that runs on injected gas (funnily enough both silver) as at $2/litre i try to keep the SS garaged as much as i can...tough ask...
quick question, anyone know the 3 lights in the top of centre display of the dash...i think the first has lane markings, is this to keep car lane central?...cheers

Cairns is nice but hate the roads
So true, even Townsville which is 320km south has much better roads, the further north you drive, the worse the roads get.
I opted for 19 inch wheels rather than 20’s because of these crappy roads.

The only flaw on the Redlines.....is the blasted SUNROOF! I had two cars with a roof-gash....and NEVER AGAIN.
I kinda have to agree. Up here in the tropics it’s either hot or we have torrential rain. Not great for a giant hole in the roof. I’m not sure the Redline even had an option not to have it..🤔

Yep, she gets exciting to drive in launch mode but it’s expensive smoking up and frying the 10 inch tyres - awesome fun though😀🙏🤘🚙

Holding the button down for 5 seconds turns the electronic stability control off so you can do fishtails

Nice, I’ve always liked the wagon , a Marshall 4 x 12 half stack speaker fits nicely in the back. They only just fit in the sedans. Nothing like the V8 to drive. Happy Motoring🚙

Decent roads mate in other countries? Try driving in Las Vegas mate you will know HORRIBLE roads are. Cairns sucks big time! You can have the 100 degrees and 100 humidity.
