- The battery-powered TB-03 is a direct descendant of the famous TB-303 Bass Line Synth. The layout and controls are unchanged, so it works just like the original. It sounds like it too, thanks to Roland's advanced ACB technology that recreates the hypnotic liquid grooves of the magic silver box. But the new TB-03 goes even further, with several enhancements not found on the original model. The four-digit LED display makes programming easier and more accurate, while overdrive and delay effects let you unleash a twisted, tribal wall of sound to send the crowd into a frenzy. Back in the studio, the TB-03 can send control information via MIDI or its USB port, the latter of which also functions as a audio interface.

i know this is literally a captioned regurgitation of whats in the manual, but I need to see someone do it first, so this was short, effective and now I'm on my way ha, thanks
Thanks so much. I have watched many videos and even if it looks very simple the guys could not explain it properly, making it more complex than what it is. You are fantastic, clear and to the point. Thank you!
thanks
I am not sure they have got 'org' mode 100% correct. I recall (when I had a TB-303) that in addition to inputting slides and accents (see 2:44) you could also make changes to the up/down transposition during this process. This doesn't seem possible on the TB-03 in 'org' mode. I hope Roland discover this and fix in a future update.
You can use the transpose buttons during that process, they just didn't show it in the video. You hold down write/next and push transpose up or down while in pitch mode.
Imagine if this tutorial was around in 85?
TB-12012i ... because everyone would have a great understanding of the function on this box and it would have probably become a little more popular at the time :p
It would had been much more simpler to program if the LED screen were included back then
No. People back then didn't need stuff explained to them. They were the originators for a reason. They had to slave through everythying to understand it.
thank's
Great tutorial..!
will there be a shift function in upcomming updates where you can shift the pattern stepwise left or right? many plugins like ABL and phoscyon have this awesome feature
yes that would be great, always discovered new grooves that way
Hello Roland Company
I want to buy TB 303
How is the purchase process
hi, i cant rec/write pattern 2, known bug ?
I bought the original new in the store, but it was to complicated and the manual in english only, and my language was german,, i never understand what is a pattern in this time ha ha...
having trouble programing transpose ups and owns....
is it just me or what but I can't have up and down pressed at the same time like on the original 303 which gave a kind of accent quality I can only seem to have up OR down so putting in some of my old patterns on to this now just don't sound the same :(
what's the difference between a tie and slide?
I'm pretty sure a tie extends a note to become longer and a slide is basically the same but links between two notes
@@billyrigney4455 ya, you cannot tie to any other note. TB doesn´t memorize notes on ties. just extends the previous one
can I save a preset?
wow....original mode. you'd need a degree in Astro Physics to get yer head around it 😄
the mc202 sequencer is a real pain in the ass compared to the tb303 sequencer
How do you delete a single step?
2nd
