  • Andy from Roland gives us a quick start guide to programming the TB-03 Bass Line. Check one out here: www.pmtonline....
    There's two ways to program the TB-03, the first is identical to the classic TB-303 (which can be a little complicated to use at first!) and the second way is via a conventional step sequencer. In this video, Andy gives us an in-depth guide to both methods, to help you get started creating fat, squelchy bass lines with your new TB-03!
    The Roland TB-303 Bass Line synth returns, thanks to this new addition to the Roland Boutique range: the TB-03! Get all the classic TB-303 sounds at the palm of your hand, with this compact synthesizer. Thanks to Rolands innovative ACB technology, even though the TB-03 is a digital synthesizer and perfectly emulates the sound and behaviour of the analogue TB-303... you won't tell the difference!
    You know when you hear a TB-303-a hypnotic, tribal sound that works best in dark, crowded rooms with big sound systems. Using the same ACB (Analog Circuit Behavior) technology from the acclaimed AIRA series, the Roland TB-03 accurately emulates the expressive, slippery sound of its older brother, and even adds a few surprises. Saw and square waveforms are available, along with all of the rotary control knobs that help shape the 303’s unique character, including tuning, cutoff, resonance, envelop mod, decay, and accent.

    in step mode you absolutely don't need to hold down the note to put a slide\accent on it - you just pick the step and press slide\accent..

    I'm lucky to have recently bought the TB-03. Having a lot of fun creating wild patterns.
    I'm using a Novation SLmk3, when I press play all my other Boutiques start playing but not the TB-03. Sync is set to midi.
    Can someone tell me if it is possible for a pattern to start and the tempo set via midi?

      try daisy chaining the midi from another boutique i did the same in the same situation.. then change the channel to prevent midinotes being played

    Are there any advantages to original mode or is it just for the purists to enjoy. I don’t see why the step mode is in there if it makes things that much easier, although I’m super glad it is there.

    • @kalibhakta
      @kalibhakta 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The step mode is much easier to grasp, so most people who never programmed a Tb-303 will ignore the original mode. But the the original mode has its own logic that tends to produce unexpected and awesome musical phrases by chance.
