We got Milo through a friend at work that was highly allergic. If you have a chance to get a Ragdoll, don’t hesitate. We lost him in 2016 and still miss him so much 💙
My condolences. I know what's it's like to lose something you had once held dear. Ragdoll 🐈 s aren't for everyone. If you constantly are away, don't have much time, don't really like having to deal with shedding, and constant veterinarian checkups. Unlike most other cats, ragdolls are unique. They're social, extroverted felines, like Scottish folds,Manx cats, and Maine coons. You'd have to be used to them being clingy. If you don't like the kind of cats that are very active, constantly jumping on your feet, and zooming around, then they're not the kind of cats for you.
I have 2 from the same litter. Everything you said is true 👍 I got mine when they were kittens. They are now 4 years old. Pablo and lulu 😊❤ I purchased them for company as i could no longer work due to having health issues after having cancer. I love them 2 with all my heart, i could not imagine life without them. They are with me 24/7. They are my world. ❤❤ I have no regrets. You definitely cannot have 1 ragdoll if its left alone all day. They have way to much love to give ❤x❤x❤x

So she gave me ragdoll cat for free. ("She" means the owner who didnt like the ragdoll cat IM NOT LYING SO IF U THINK IM LYING DONT BE MEAN)
I have a Ragamuffin and he is the best kitty ever. Having ADAD and recovering from an extended hospital stay I have implemented a great routine for my kitty and myself. Every morning after I make coffee I walk my kitty using a harness around a low traffic neighbourhood. When we come home, I brush our teeth and his fur. After every time he uses the potty, I scoop it up. It is all about a great routine and mutual respect and healthy boundaries. He is my partner not my pet... my wife gets a bit jealous but she is glad I'm happy.
Someone asked me why I never go out of town, since I “only have a cat.” I can’t even leave the room without Wolfie following and asking questions. The one time I left town for a few days, in the 8 years I’ve had her, I paid someone she knows to be with her.
The only reason I can think of for not having a ragdoll is if you're a miserable person (and want to stay that way). Ragdolls are the funniest creatures on Earth and they will make you smile every second.
The headline of this video is to get views. The best decision of my life was being a.pet owner to a beautiful colour point ragdoll girl. An incredibly intelligent and kind animal. Sadly we tragically lost her to kidney failure 4 days ago, she rapidly deteriorated and we had her PTS. I miss her tremendously and the thought of getting another pet cat just now isn't on my to do list, but maybe in the future. I will only ever have Ragdolls now. She had really fine soft like rabbit fur which was prone to matting, so I bought some decent clippers and she let me give her a lion cut, this last summer. She just let me get on with it. Thats the kind of temperament she was. Gorgeous animals.
If l could afford it l would definitely get one of these babies. I have two extremely mellow cats. I assume there are sanctuaries that take these cats if their owner (for any reason can no longer keep them). They would be re-homed at a much lower cost. That could be an option for the monetarily challenged.
Most of those issues aren't really specific to ragdoll cats. Cuddle and dependency rlly depend on your cat's personnality even though they're ragdolls, for instance mine doesn't really like hugs. Ragdoll cats are the best cats you can get, and instead of seeing what is displayed as "issues", I see them as regular responsibilities any cat owner has to accept and respect. Health problems are specific to cats that come from a specific breed, not specifically ragdoll cats. They're really helpful and especially during the hard times, but do not forget that they are still cats and even though they don't like staying alone they sometimes will want you not to disturb them for an hour or so. A cat is still an independant animal although the ragdoll demands more attention, anyways do not let that video discourage you to get one ! The love and affection they give you is totally worth it.
Thank you for this. I was having a second thought because of this video but reading your comment encourages me to get one. I dont have experience having a pet so I am doing some research before getting one. Thank you.
@@jeynie842 Aww, thank you. You shouldn't let this video misinform you, ragdoll cats are extroardinary and really comforting, yes they may need more attention than regular cats but it's worth it in the end. Um…I respectfully disagree with the number one reason not to buy a Ragdoll because…. You will likely buy another one and another and another…..😂💕 I bought one fell in love so I bought another one then fell more in love, so I bought another one. I have six ragdoll cats now and I love every single one of them but I’m not buying any more because 6 is a lot. I live in a large three bedroom house so they have their own bedroom aka catroom. They also have a catio on my deck. They all get along very well. They are as sweet as they can be.❤ I cook for my cats and I also prepare raw food for them so they are very healthy. It’s more affordable for me to make them their own food. It really has saved on vet bills too because it’s healthier than canned or dried processed food. I haven’t had any major illnesses at all or health problems with my cats. Even the older ones are very active and healthy and playful. I comb them every single day. It’s a little bit of work with six cats but it’s better than having to sweep and mop fur all over my entire house. Plus they actually like being combed. The last thing that I will say about the Ragdoll breed is they are very highly trainable, unlike any other type of cat I’ve ever had.
😮❤❤ I've ALWAYS wanted a ragdoll!! It's my dream kitty but I have 3 rescue kitties and to me it's much more important to adopt not shop... But boy ohhh boy are they absolutely beautiful ❤️❤️
The problem is the cat is going to get used to going outside and they might be more prone to run out the door Then there is the issue of fleas If you have a indoor cat you won’t have to use flea meds every month My vet recommends indoor only
i'm stuck at home and can only go out in a wheelchair due to health problems. i have no allergies, never had any. i have a lot of free time and love to hug fluffy things. i alrady have a cat, but when he pass away and i still have some years left, i'm getting a ragdoll.
My 2 ragdolls don't shed much at all (and 1 before that also not) and don't get tangled hairs/knots as well, only sometimes, like once in 3 months. I don't brush them by a basic schedule like they write on the internet, where they say once a week or more. I don't brush them until they start to get little knots and unless they're shedding extremely (few times a year) because of changing weather and shedding their coat to wintercoat or summercoat etc. In contradiction to what they write on the internet I've noticed if I brush them once a week (or more) they shed more too, don't know why but that's what happens to all my cats. The quality of the fur also goes hand in hand with the cat it's health and what kind of (quality) food they get. I give them Hills K/D kidney care since my last Ragdoll and also a Sacred Birman both died of kidney failure. My parents in law always had non breed cats and they give supermarket food and all shed much more than my Ragdolls. If your Ragdoll don't need a lot of brushing I will still recommend doing it the first few weeks/months when you get a kitten, just to make it comfortable and not afaid of a brush.
Eight year ragdoll owner here. Some of this is true, and some of it isn’t. Also not all ragdoll dolls like to be held. Every cat is different. But they all want to be around you 24 hours a day and they can be very much pesky in their need for attention.
Couldn't afford a purebred, so I had an "almost" purebred foisted off on me. Vicious, felonious shedding, check. Glamor and regal bearing, check. Blue eyes, check. Really smart and eager to please, check. Training garners ridiculous pet tricks, check. However, does not show affection or snuggling and has never allowed himself to be picked up. Won't even head butt. Did I mention the shedding? Good thing he's so cute, I must say.
I had a ragdoll cat he was so beautiful. Ragdolls are a very sweet cat to have. But yes alot fur to clean up. But very lovable. I miss him very much Jasper was my baby boy! If you love cats and dogs the ragdoll cat is the best!
My rag doll is dooo mellow and well behaved- and does not like outdoors! The fur does itch my nose and he’s not really sociable ( a scary cat🙀) but probably best cat overall!!
This person is going to wake up to an army of Ragdolls at their door one morning. "Heard you were talking smack, buddy. Hey. HEY! WAAAAARRIORS! COME OUT TO PLAAAA-E-AY!"
Same here. She had the perfect personality. We have another one now that has been with us for about 3 years and also has a very sweet loving personality.
We got our Ragdoll already 2 years of age, it had been abandoned and was living in a barn with the horses. 90% of what you said is very wrong. Our ragdoll keeps all the other cats off the property and is very untrusting of people that he does not see more than a couple of times. He has a door to go in and go as he wishes and sometimes comes in at night to sleep with us but other times not at all. He is in my lap when we are driving on long trips and loves the car, he walks on a leash. he hunts and kills birds, mice, and small rabits to eat, not to show us he loves us. The only way he was to be the way you stated would be if we never gave him a chance to see what he could do. You lock them up like a prison inmate and then that is all they know. They are much much smarter then you claim.
I have a Ragdoll Cat (male) called Toffee and he is very cute. This video is quite right. My dog (Golden Retriever) does feel unwanted. I've started gettin' him in. I've also got another cat (Egyptian Mau) called Kit. My Golden Retriever (Goldie) still loves me and will never stop. I love him as well. Toffee is right next to me! He's a messy one and poos everywhere! He smells as well but I don't mind. I care about Toffee and I care about Goldie and I care about Kit. I look after them all. Toffee is only 6 months old. Goldie is 2 years old. Kit is 1 year old. I am looking forward to have babies from these cats! Kit's a female; I can tell you that!
Well some good points but I found this vid almost useless, as most of the points made here, are applicable to most cat breeds! Cats are adorable supreme beings and having one or two or more brings joy and happiness to any owner who will above all, be sensitive, respectful of this splendid and magic creature named cat. That is for sure!
Any long- haired cat needs to be brushed. They are a very gentle breed and loyal. This person is 100% against this breed. I wonder if he likes cats at all. Waste of time.
Buy? I adopted. Fur? It's dander, not fur. Lap cat? What's wrong with that? Dog-like? No, they're clean and quiet. Grooming? No, she takes care of that. This is a stupid video.
I had 10 cats who shed lot of fur. So nothing wrong in keeping 2 ragdoll. Never had any prob with fur. I asked my ENT DOCTOR for opinion too. He said it's ok
All ragdoll cats are NOT bad because there is a brother and sister cat and they are the SWEETEST and their names are Eevee and Yoshi They are the sweetest balls of fur
This is a good video but i disagree with#1,#3,#12! 1.Firstly, Ragdolls ARE hypoallergenic!! I'm allergic to cats and hardly react at all to our rahdoll. Every cat is different, so you need to test the cat to see if you react before you take it home. Some hypoallergenic breeds will still cause reactions in some people. 3. While you are correct that it MAY be a little more risky to have a Ragdoll outdoors because of theft, our Ragdoll absolutely LOVES being outside!! She goes in and out all day and night, climbing trees and hunting mice and birds. We tried keeping her indoors at night but it was awful because she was so desperate to go outside that she was crying and annoying us while we were trying to sleep, so we let her go out. 12. Our Ragdoll is VERY territorial and is always attacking and chasing other cats off our property. We had a new cat come to live with us and that new cat is terrified of the Ragdoll who will chase the new cat constantly. So the new cat hides day and night. The only other thing is that we only groom our Ragdoll in winter. During summer she doesn't seem to shed or get knots at all. Only in winter when her fur is thick.
Your title is completely wrong. You NEVER own a cat, they live with you while they want you as a servant. Cats are not fashion accessories. If you want a cat for the right reasons, go to a rescue and give a cat a home.
Does anyone know if Ragdolls can be flame-points? I adopted a kitten 3 months ago, she has red ears, face and tail with light gold fur elsewhere and blue eyes, I didn’t get her from a breeder so I’ve sent off her DNA. I think she’s either a Ragdoll, Birman, Siberian or Balinese.

I call BS on your video title. I have a Ragdoll cat and love him. I don't have any issues with him.
Don't be a Ragdoll hater. No point in watch the video because the title says it all. If you don't like Ragdolls that's fine, but don’t ruin it for everyone else
I have three. Good point to these guys are they never scratch up furniture. One lives outside and he loves it.
We had our male neutered Milo for 19 years. He was the sweetest boy ever and I would have another in a heartbeat if one happened my way. I will never buy a cat. Too many in shelters. We got Milo through a friend at work that was highly allergic. If you have a chance to get a Ragdoll, don’t hesitate. We lost him in 2016 and still miss him so much 💙
A lot of people died in 2016.. And a lot of bad things went down.. It was a bad year overall
@@nishthagupta1357 Every year a lot of people die and a lot of bad things happen, it's called existence.
My ragdoll cat, and I, have been my best friends for 10 years and counting...!!! 🎉😻🥰🎉
I have 2 from the same litter. Everything you said is true 👍
I got mine when they were kittens. They are now 4 years old.
Pablo and lulu 😊❤
I purchased them for company as i could no longer work due to having health issues after having cancer. I love them 2 with all my heart, i could not imagine life without them.
They are with me 24/7. They are my world. ❤❤
I have no regrets. You definitely cannot have 1 ragdoll if its left alone all day. They have way to much love to give ❤x❤x❤x
May Allah Cure Your Illness InshAllah ❤️❤️❤️Be Strong.. Take Care Of Your Health 😊
They are so loving!!
@jillsmith5032 aww Jill they are so loving. They follow me around the house all the time xx 😘
Been 8 months. Hope you're doing better now?
Somebody had alot of cats and they said that they would give me one for free. But she said that she didnt like her ragdoll cat because she likes only outside cats. So she gave me ragdoll cat for free. ("She" means the owner who didnt like the ragdoll cat IM NOT LYING SO IF U THINK IM LYING DONT BE MEAN)
Lmfao.😂
Idc i love my cute ragdoll and love when it sits in my lap
I have a Ragamuffin and he is the best kitty ever. Having ADAD and recovering from an extended hospital stay I have implemented a great routine for my kitty and myself.
Every morning after I make coffee I walk my kitty using a harness around a low traffic neighbourhood. When we come home, I brush our teeth and his fur. After every time he uses the potty, I scoop it up.
It is all about a great routine and mutual respect and healthy boundaries.
He is my partner not my pet... my wife gets a bit jealous but she is glad I'm happy.
Doesn't most of these reasons seem to "fit" taking in the responsibilities of most kitties???❤❤
I cannot believe what I'm just listening!
Nothing is a problem if one loves them!
I love my rad doll cat.♥️🤙😇BJ is awesome. He is very loving. My cat has only been indoor.GET ONE.
Lol this video is literally just "dont get a ragdoll cat because they're so lovable and cuddly"
Girl I'm not allergic to cat fur or I don't care if it's a nother colour of eyes as long as it is ragdoll I would accept it😊
I could never let my cats live outside. I can’t imagine not knowing where they were.
I agree 💯
Someone asked me why I never go out of town, since I “only have a cat.”
I can’t even leave the room without Wolfie following and asking questions. The one time I left town for a few days, in the 8 years I’ve had her, I paid someone she knows to be with her.
No domestic cat is an outdoor cat.
My daughter has a ragdoll she is the sweetest puss so gentle and sweet absolutely adorable she loves at least5 brushes a day
The only reason I can think of for not having a ragdoll is if you're a miserable person (and want to stay that way). Ragdolls are the funniest creatures on Earth and they will make you smile every second.
I had my Benjie Can for 19 amazing years, Ragdolls are amazing.
#1 adopt don’t buy. There are so many cats that need homes.
And again, this also depends on your cat's behaviour, don't worry Im sure you will be fine 😄.
@@shikadaikobutsu3414 sorry one more question, are they okay to be left alone for 8 hours? Me and my husband work 9-5 :(
@@jeynie842 Yes it should be ok, even though I would recommend trying to work at home in the beginning to make it feel more comfortable. But normally you should be ok, the thing is, when you or your husband will come back from work it will demande a lot of attention but that is totally worth it. In my case my parents work a lot at home so our ragdoll cat never feels lonely.
@@shikadaikobutsu3414 some people say get a british shorthair instead of ragdoll because brits are more independent and you can leave them alone. But i really like the ragdoll personality of being sweet and affectionate :) thanks a lot for your help and encouragement :) i really appreciate it.
Since two months I have two ragdolls. But they should be called rather "rug-dolls" as they often lie on their back and I have to scratch them.
I fell in love with my ragdoll and adored every moment with him!
I have 2 ragdoll cats that are now 4 years old. They are indoor cats in a large house and they got a big tree to climb inside. They are the best to wver have happend me
I love my ragdoll. I can't wait to get another one. He is an indoor cat. Except on our walks in his bubble backpack.
If a Ragdoll does not have blue eyes - they are NOT PUREBREED!!! BTW,
I breed them, so speak with authority!
i stopped watching his BS soon as he said not all have blue eyes lol i have a beautiful ragdoll and perdolls
I couldn't believe he said they don't all have blue eyes! It is absolute BS. Ragdolls have blue eyes - period.
@@shandi9 There is one and rare exception: heterochromia (but at least one eye must be blue).
My ragdoll absolutely does not like cuddling with me, sometimes he'll sit next to me for a whopping 7 minutes but not once ever has he even considered sitting on my lap
Humans are merely “cat staff”. There’s no ownership…I retract that. They own humans.
Best choice you'll ever make Ragdoll cats are the best
I have one, love him
Um…I respectfully disagree with the number one reason not to buy a Ragdoll because….
You will likely buy another one and another and another…..😂💕
I bought one fell in love so I bought another one then fell more in love, so I bought another one.
I have six ragdoll cats now and I love every single one of them but I’m not buying any more because 6 is a lot.
I live in a large three bedroom house so they have their own bedroom aka catroom.
They also have a catio on my deck. They all get along very well. They are as sweet as they can be.❤
I cook for my cats and I also prepare raw food for them so they are very healthy.
I rescued one ,someone dumped in my area .
😮❤❤ I've ALWAYS wanted a ragdoll!! It's my dream kitty but I have 3 rescue kitties and to me it's much more important to adopt not shop... But boy ohhh boy are they absolutely beautiful ❤️❤️
The problem is the cat is going to get used to going outside and they might be more prone to run out the door
Then there is the issue of fleas
If you have a indoor cat you won’t have to use flea meds every month
My vet recommends indoor only
I think Ragdoll is the match to me.
i'm stuck at home and can only go out in a wheelchair due to health problems. i have no allergies, never had any. i have a lot of free time and love to hug fluffy things. i alrady have a cat, but when he pass away and i still have some years left, i'm getting a ragdoll.
All Ragdolls have blue eyes. If it doesn't, it's not a pure Ragdoll. That is a defining breed standard.
That is correct. ALL purebred Ragdolls have blue eyes
You need to change the title because these are reasons I will buy it.
I live in the mountains and my ragdoll loves to play outside and chase away the bears
I had a ragdoll cat he was so beautiful. Ragdolls are a very sweet cat to have. But yes alot fur to clean up. But very lovable. I miss him very much Jasper was my baby boy! If you love cats and dogs the ragdoll cat is the best!
I’ve never seen a ragdoll without blue eyes. It’s not a purebred ragdoll if it doesn’t have blue eyes.
This beautiful cat breed needs good homes where someone takes the time to ensure they are loved and cared for.
COME OUT TO PLAAAA-E-AY!"
funny thing about the first point, my mom is allergic to cat but don't have any reactions to long haired cats.
I miss my ragdoll girl. She was perfect.
Im so sorry for your loss. How old was she?
Same here. She had the perfect personality. We have another one now that has been with us for about 3 years and also has a very sweet loving personality.
This are not bad reasons for not get a ragdoll cat. Maybe just a little bit hard, but if you really want one ,this are not bad things
Yeah, it all depends on how you raise them, mine is very independent and smart, but sometimes when he is outside he wants to fight dogs 😅
@@silverstrands3362 mine hates small noisy dogs, he seems to know just which ones would be a issue, also large trucks he runs from.
All I heard was normal pet owner problems and responsibilities .
I have a ragdoll and she loves to go outside and sleep outside in the sun
Well some good points but I found this vid almost useless, as most of the points made here, are applicable to most cat breeds! Cats are adorable supreme beings and having one or two or more brings joy and happiness to any owner who will above all, be sensitive, respectful of this splendid and magic creature named cat. That is for sure!
All purebred ragdolls will have blue eyes. The shade may differ but they are always blue.
yes, if it doesn't have blue eyes then it is not a pure ragdoll x
That is correct. All purebred Ragdolls have blue eyes! No exceptions.
Any long- haired cat needs to be brushed. They are a very gentle breed and loyal. This person is 100% against this breed. I wonder if he likes cats at all. Waste of time.
seems he is against many breeds.. its toxic channel
My black rag doll is simply adorable 😂
Here is a reason, because you could use those resources to rescue a cat from a shelter rather than getting it from a breeder.
Buy? I adopted.
Fur? It's dander, not fur.
Lap cat? What's wrong with that?
Dog-like? No, they're clean and quiet.
Grooming? No, she takes care of that.
This is a stupid video.
Ragdolls shed like all other normal cats do..
Imagine one of your reasons is "they dont all have blue eyes". Grow up
And it is not true. They all have blue eyes
I now own one and you can see her on the youtube channel. Her name is Zoey !
Alternative title: Why you should buy a rag doll cat
I had 10 cats who shed lot of fur. So nothing wrong in keeping 2 ragdoll. Never had any prob with fur. I asked my ENT DOCTOR for opinion too. He said it's ok
All ragdoll cats are NOT bad because there is a brother and sister cat and they are the SWEETEST and their names are Eevee and Yoshi
They are the sweetest balls of fur
if i get a ragdoll cat i will name it cloth
Any mix or nice indoor cat can
Keep your ragdoll company. It doesn’t have to be same breed. We have 1 ragdoll & another type cat
This should be titled, things to know before you get a ragdole
NOTHING CAN MAKE ME STOP BUYING RAGDOLL CATS FROM MAH FRIEND FOR 100 DOLLARS
Placid ? My ragdoll is psycho 😂 but I love him.
Your title is completely wrong. You NEVER own a cat, they live with you while they want you as a servant.
Cats are not fashion accessories. If you want a cat for the right reasons, go to a rescue and give a cat a home.
Our Randolph is just fine thank you. And sheds very little
These reasons make me wanna have those fluffy cats 🐱 and cuddle them
I thought rag dolls were fabric dolls?
I own a Ragdoll and its the best thing i have❤
Does anyone know if Ragdolls can be flame-points? I adopted a kitten 3 months ago, she has red ears, face and tail with light gold fur elsewhere and blue eyes, I didn’t get her from a breeder so I’ve sent off her DNA. I think she’s either a Ragdoll, Birman, Siberian or Balinese.
And you know who else has blue eyes Larry Collins
