I do not have a desk in my room. But, I’m a Special Education Teacher that does small group interventions all day. I prefer to just have a Kidney Table, sense I’m not in my room all day. I spend a lot of time pushing in to other rooms. That’s just me. I absolutely love your desk!

I vote leave the cabinets as is. Sometimes less is more 👍 I’m just finishing up setting up my classroom-after I had to move rooms this summer😕 Its exhausting…but nice when it comes together and starts to feel like your space again🙂

Love the contact paper on the teacher desk! I vote for leaving the cabinets as is. It looks very clean. If you want to add anything you can always add posters of how to wash hands, social distancing, etc. I would recommend that you get rid of the clear bins from the top of the cabinets and utilize the boxes where your curriculum came in. They match your color theme and look so much more pleasing to the eye. Plus if you leave 4 boxes on top that will clear up space inside your cabinets for other items you might use more frequently.

Inspiring. This is my 26th year and my daughter actually decorated parts of my classroom. I was just not into the decorating this year.
I had those exact stools. When the tops came loose, I just used E6000 glue to put them back on.
Teacher area came out great.
I enjoy your videos a lot, thank you for making me laugh. I am in New York and we will be able to start setting up August 26th. I have started purchasing borders and other things to make my theme come alive. The stools are great as I had purchased them three years ago and I also used them for my small group instruction. I look forward to seeing your next video.
Everyone on my fourth grade team has those stools in different colors. The kids love them and so do I. They are well-made and sturdy, but small and lightweight enough to carry anywhere in the room.
It’s going to be my first year! I’m teaching third grade. So far I’ve gone through everything in the room and I got rid of what I didn’t want. I wiped down cabinets and organized what I kept.
I think leaving the cabinets plain It gives your eyes a break. My classroom is a work in progress. We just got word that we will not need to distance in the classroom just wear masks so waiting for the extra desks to be removed so I can set up my round tables. Your room looks fabulous. Hope you and your students have a marvelous school year!
I hope to be able to begin setting up my classroom next week. We haven’t been able to get in our classrooms because summer school runs until Friday. I will have one week before we all have to officially start back.
Thankfully I’m a music teacher and I got my own office! It’s the best. Love your videos!
I love how it’s coming along! I would personally leave the cabinets empty on the front just so that it doesn’t seem like too much going on for the students.

I suggest that you use black Washi tape to trim the doors or make a black rectangle about 1/2 inch in from the edges. That way it copies the black trim look you have going on around the room.
Looking good! I would leave the cabinets be cabinets. They are a nice neutral color that lets your eyes take a break.

I had those exact same stools a few years ago. Unfortunately, four out of five were broken by the end of the year because the students would rock back and lean on them, breaking the plastic mounts from the round seat to the legs so be careful!

I have been working almost everyday in my classroom for about two weeks now. I painted my cabinets and had to move schools!! I’m not leaving this Saturday until I’m completely done and ready for the first day of school. I can’t function during preplanning if I know my classroom is not done!!!!

My desk is a kidney table. 😂 No wrapping there. I’m totally buying my own laminator.
We had to move to a new site. Not allowed in until after labor day and we start on 8/25. First kid day is 9/15. It will be a crazy crunch for sure as we will have to unpack, arrange furniture/storage and do all the set up in a bare minimum of time. I dread it.....
You could add contact paper to your cabinets, file cabinets.

Give the kiddos access to 4x4 paper and allow them to draw pictures to make a collage on the cabinets to help foster community
I'm actually still raw, I have not seen or been to my new classroom (btw its on the upper floor now.) So far I only have an idea of some basic charts that I'm gonna use. But furniture and walls wise I still thinking what I am gonna do😔..thankfully we are officially going to be open ,August 30...so there is still time😊 I hope😉. I need to create a wish list...first up laminating machine

Sooo, I love the desk … however - my ocd would drive me BANANAS to leave the fronts of the drawers. I’d consider adding the contact paper to those as well. 😅

Leave the cabinets alone. It won't be so overwhelming for your students as you have decor items on either side. As a veteran teacher, I am beginning to learn that less is more.
Less is more. You can always do something later in the year if the cabinets bothers you.
My program didn’t mentally prepare me for the physical toll that is setting up multiple bulletin boards. 😬

Leave the cabinets plain. Your room looks fantastic! Too much visual input can be too much for kids. I think the blank cabinets makes the other info on the walls stand out.

I think no. The eye needs a place to rest. Kids can get overstimulated.

I like your decorations. The cabinets are like a soar thumbs, do ANYTHING to change their appearance.
Nooo... leave them just as they are. They are like the cracker you eat between sips of wine during wine tasting. They clear the palate while making the decorated areas stand out.
