as a teachers kid i have to help with this nearly every year and i feel awful because i’ve kinda grown to hate it. watching this is honestly helping me hate it less because it’s an honest look into the pure excitement of a teacher that still cares and really made me realize some of my moms madness. thank you

I taught for 40 years and this brings me right back to my first classroom of my own. Back to school was always the best time, I hope you have as wonderful a career as I did. Always remember that your students will look to you for security and support, sometimes the days lesson is not as important as reassuring a scared child. Have a wonderful time!! You could use that little box thing as storage or like treasure boxes when your kids are good they can pick a box and pick something out of the box!
I was in fourth grade like two years ago, and no offense, but everyone would think that is lame, but I think that is a great idea for like, 2nd graders!

OH MY GOSH!!! Listening to you share about your room reminded me SO MUCH of myself in my first room! The previous teacher left so many things, and I felt so overwhelmed!! I ended up putting it all into one cabinet that I basically ignored all year. Hahaha! Great minds think alike! :)

This video just popped up on my feed today as I've finished up my summer classes recently. I'm studying to be an art teacher and aiming to teach in high school and get nervous thinking of the day I'll graduate and get the job of my dreams and my own classroom. Videos like these make me even more excited to finally graduate. Good luck with everything for your first year and many more to come

Hi! I love classroom set up videos, & this is my first time watching you! I do have a suggestion for the cubby. Put crates in them as a spot to keep classroom notebooks, or shared craft supplies so they are easily accessible but not cluttering space then decorate every other one with books/plushies for whatever season/holiday you're in!

Keep the storage unit! You can use it for manipulatives, supplies, baskets for literally endless things LOL. I had a similar shelf in my room and I used it to store my math games and manipulates.

the fact that I’m a 11th that likes to watch classroom set ups is unusual I don’t think anyone my age an my graded watches this but I guess because I want to be (well plan ) a teacher . But can’t wait to see the final look

I’m in 11th grade to and I just really enjoy these types of videos. I watch a couple other channels too because I enjoy seeing the different ways teachers have their classrooms. It’s so sad that all these teachers have such beautiful classroom to engage students but all the classrooms I learn in are so dull and boring. I wish high school teachers could do this. (though I understand that it is very expensive and time consuming)

You will learn almost ALL teachers leave crap behind - so pretty much no matter where you go, unless it's a brand new school classroom, there will be leftover stuff for you to deal with. Sometimes it's useful - sometimes the previous teachers gets in touch and tells you to look through it and let them know if you wanted any of it -and sometimes, they just PEACE OUT. Much to the annoyance of the new teacher and the principal haha.

I’m a second year elementary music teacher. I absolutely love your classroom. The crazy thing is that due to COVID I have never been allowed to teach in MY classroom. I am on a cart going room to room. I did decorate my cart though. :)

Idk if you’ll see this but that brown box thing looks like it could be used for paperwork. It has Monday thru Friday amount of boxes. Just get some metal paper things that could just slide into them and put their work in there or other papers

Hi am in my upcoming senior year and I am going through the process of certifications for two states Arizona and California . I attended Grand Canyon University My degree is Early childhood development and Special education. I can't wait to get through student teaching and get my classroom, I already have so much stuff in my house for my future class that I have transformed my office into a small classroom 🙃 Your video gives me the motivation to keep going knowing that their is a rainbow at the end of the tunnel!!!

Do teachers have to empty out and change classrooms often or does this just happen when you change schools?
My aunts a teacher and I went with her this year to go help her clean out her classroom from the old teacher that was in there and there was a closet and it was packed to the ceiling of old junk that the old teacher left in there it took us 3 1/2 hours just to clear out all of the boxes but besides that it was fun decorating

turn it into a shoe cubby! make a rule you have to wear socks if you wanna take your shoes off and maybe put down some mats or maybe even a rug! makes the classroom alot more cozy and safe feeling. I wish my teachers did that

if i became a teacher i would only use leds for light. and always have the lights off. i suffer with headaches all the time so if my teacher did this now i would love them forever, i aspire to be that teacher 😁

How does your elementary school work? As you said you only teach writing, do they switch classes throughout the day like middle and high school? Just curious, cause that’s super different!
When I was in elementary school, starting fifth grade (not fourth like her) we rotated between three teachers and each teacher taught two subjects. The goal was to help us make the transition into middle school. Like packing our things and getting to and from class in the allotted time, etc…
yes it’s like that!! they switch 3 times since there are 3 of us teaching. the goal is to somewhat prepare them for middle school!
