Hey Destin, Do you think the construction of the system of torques is accurate? I think the system he is describing is actually a series of linear forces. They produce motion in a circular path but no rotation, meaning no net torque is applied to the stick. The circular motion of the stick gives rise to the rotation, as described with the pen and roll of tape.

When I played with these, I figured out how to get it to go which way I wanted and reverse it *without* even touching the stick, aside from holding it. You can tell it which way to rotate just by rubbing it certain ways.
