    We did a Papillon excursion a few years ago which included flying from Boulder City in a light aircraft, then a helicopter down to the bottom, a boat ride along the Colorado river, followed by another helicopter ride back up, included was a fast track ticket on the Skywalk. It cost around £500 each but I would say it was definitely worth it. There’s no way I’d of gone all the way to Vegas to then not go & see the Grand Canyon & if your going to do it once you may as well do it in style.

    Scanning through some of the comments from other people to others on this page - it's hard to tell these days if people are saying nice or bad things to each other. I never thought Grand Canyon would bring arguments. I'll take your post as a nice thing. Thank you, Eddie, for taking the time to read my post & for replying. I've only been to the Grand Canyon once & that was years ago before this Skywalk. Anyways, I hope you're enjoying your day & I wish you a nice week, Eddie.

    This is definitely on my bucket list. And the cost and charge for photos is worth it. It's not like you're going to go back every week, or even every year to experience this! Amazing!

    Prepare to be fleeced. A much better way to see the canyon is to walk down into it. Now, that's awesome.

    It cost $30.00 bucks a pop just to walk out on this thing. They won't let you take your own pictures. They take them and then charge you. The reason you can't take your own pictures is because you might drop your camera and crack the floor. Fug Dat! If a camera drop is all it takes to crack that thing... I'll stay off of it...

      6 years later, it's $80 a person plus $70 for the pictures, and the glass floor was very dirty, you could barely see through it.

    It was like $75 when I went this summer... it's pretty amazing, but too expensive, IMO.
    Next time, helicopter. More money, but so much more experience.

    $49.92 is entry fee that's including tax. And that fee includes a shuttle that takes you to 3 points . The Ranch , Eagle point and Guano. $76.00 and change includes skywalk the 3 points tour and a meal. The meal consists of BBQ ribs or roasted chicken,2 sides and for vegetarians they offer black bean burger or veggie wrap, or a veggie plate is made to order.

    i sincerely do believe, that I would have to be paid about a million to walk that thing...My fear of heights is ridiculously big. On the other hand, this might cure it! I got rid of my spider phobia by handling a tarantula, and I actually ended up finding these cretures interesting! Too bad I live in Europe, though.. :-(

    Yeah I did that years and years ago when I was on holiday to the USA. It was about 36-38 degrees Celsius (about 96 degrees Fahrenheit) and as we were walking down (I didn't go all the way down it was too hot for me) but Mum and Dad and my sister went all the way down. But as we got about half way down these German tourists were begging for water...... they didn't take any water down with them. I mean how stupid!! We gave them a bottle of water because we had plenty with us.

    Thanks for the info. I went to the Grand Canyon before they had this Skywalk. I wish they had the Skywalk when I visited because I would have gone on it because I like the feeling of being in air. I've visited places where they had bridges & you can look on the highway below through the square glasses on the bridge floor while walking on it. It didn't cost much. You're right. For money's worth, might as well have the helicopter ride. I've been on helicopter in Kauai & took many photos on my own.

    They don't let cameras on for the same reason you have to wear booties. Scratches on the glass. If you drop a camera, it will scratch the glass.

  • @TheGrandcanyonhyker
    @TheGrandcanyonhyker 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Might drop the camera is just an excuse to prevent you from taking your own pictures. THEY take them and try to sell them to you. Nothing wrong with wanting to make a buck but just be honest about it. Also it cost alot more than 30$. You have to PAY to drive on the reservation, park about 100 yards away and PAY to ride a bus onto "sacred" ground to finally get there.

  • @51LAY
    @51LAY 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    It won't crack the liability is to high to let that happen! The clear glass is probably made of Lexan it's an acrylic that can't be broken and scratches fairly easy . That's the reason for the booties. It is use primarly on high rise buildings for windows.( sky scrapers) So I would feel safe walking on it. The human nature side of you would still have the hair on the back of your neck standing up!

    $80 to walk it and a mandatory $45 shuttle to get there!
    I'm disabled, I'm BELOW the poverty level income! this is absurd! I'm sure they give a discount for army or vets or elderly, but as usual no one gives discounts for people on disblity income. $700 a month. no I can't afford that!

  • @MovieMad007
    @MovieMad007 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    LOL! I don't think its any of those.....not at all that perspex would survive anything - what they are worried about is copyright. They probably spent an absolute fortune on it and so any possible means of revenue - they want that for themselves. So by banning cameras then they can ensure revenue for themselves by using their own guys! But also - there is a safety issue of you accidentally dropping your camera over the side - and then it falling onto someone below!

  • @chuckles1972
    @chuckles1972 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I went on this yesterday I wasn't that impressed. The skywalk is way smaller in person and you have to pay for pictures....money hungry Native Americans!! And we paid full price admission just to get on the bus to get to the three stops that you're able to see but one of the stops was closed so why do we pay full price? Oh they have a place guano café which is basically just a bunch of water , soda and chips don't know why it's called a café. The scenes where nice but, I won't go there again.
