A lot of streaming services serve their files over HTTP, even for their native mobile apps. In fact, Apple requires streaming services' mobile apps to use live streaming over HTTP for better bandwidth control. There's plenty of non-browser HTTP usage primarily because the caching behaviors of HTTP make distributing the load of serving large numbers of clients far easier than with other protocols.

I encrypt my files, I fragment website's data on me as best I can. I want to control my systems, and I won't hand over any control to any company without knowing that they are reliable and on my side. My only exceptions to this are when there is no better alternative, like with social platforms, however I will still support those who protect my privacy, even if it means a loss of convenience.

Linus is partly incorrect when he's telling that the web usage is slowing down. Ofc there is an increase in mobile and console app usage. But usually these apps make use of so-called web APIs. They don't serve HTML like a website do, but they still communicate over the HTTP or HTTPS protocol. So apps are using the web as backbone.
are there not links between visual frames and audio frames in order to keep a link between the visual frame and audio frame from falling out of sync? I was sure that was a thing. And the argument that web use has been decreasing has totally missed my perception of use trends based on everything being ported or moved to remote storage and processing. I no understand "decreasing for the last few years."
