      +lightumbreon 1808 As an ex-competitive TF2 player who recently picked up Counter Strike, a good amount of the skill-set can still apply in CS:GO (things like some aiming, player awareness etc.), but CS:GO is taken to the extreme. Like I have something like 2000+ hours in TF2 and I'm like 3/10 at best in CS:GO, it's still fun tho.

      DLLs (dynamically linked libraries) are simply program code like an EXE file. The difference is that DLLs are not executable on their own, but contain additional functions called by programs they are used by. The code they contain is seperated out from the main application to simplify patching/updating or for easier reusability. For example, every program with a GUI (WPF, Windows Forms, Qt, etc...) calls upon libraries to draw their UI on the screen. Without such libraries every such program would have to contain the code to tell the underlying drivers and such how to draw title bars, buttons, and every other aspect of a GUI

    What a coincidence that Linus would do a video on a technology that credit cards use after having his credit card information stolen over Twitter.

    Lynus maybe you should explain the difference between RFID and NFC. They do the same thing but in a very different way.

    Do a video on MU-MIMO, 4x4,3x3, Dual-band, tri-band, beam forming, simultaneous dual band, and all the other new Wifi jargon. I know you previously did a video, but it was back in 2013 and is a little outdated.

    Does it also make it possible for people to steal credit card info wirelessly? Is that true?

    • @chriselderscorner
      @chriselderscorner 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Icarus In short, yes. There are wallets that block radio signals so people can't jack your credit card info from your pocket. As far as I know with phones there has to be an act of confirmation on the user's part before any confidential data is sent, like a thumb scan on the iPhone, so at least that is a bit safer.

    I'm a Linus fan but...
    1) The flavor of RFID mentioned in this video is more likely NFC: payments, access control, using your smartphone "for RFID" is done with NFC or something very very similar (ISO14443A/B).
    2) No, RFID is not good for locating your dog. Vets use them to easily 'point' to the pet's medical history. Reading range being only 1 or 2 inches.
    3) RFID will not replace barcodes anytime soon. Even today being 2020.
    4) Traffic patterns; well, yeah: with UHF tags.
    5) The privacy issue is not a downside of RFID, since we all make purchases with our credit/debit cards. It is a downside of our current digital life.
