Yes! I was waiting on this video ever since you mentioned it in another vid - This is the side of VR that got me really interested in its potential as well. Thanks so much for covering, and thanks to for building an entire community around this idea!
Amazing job to the both of you and all of the community working on these. Thank you for all of the love and dedication you guys show in helping to make these a reality. Can't wait to see them offered pre-built for the consumer.
@Wanye Smith First, because they insanely cheap. The ones you can buy, as shown in the video, costs way too much. Its fun to build, i like to solder and so on. They are ugly? I actually think they are beautiful in its own way. And you arent going to look at them. You are in vr... I dont think they are big enough to ruin the experience.
@Wanye Smith Because it looks like a fun build, it's cheap (assuming you own a PCVR rig, 3D printer, and electronics tools), and I've wanted one since the early 90s.
@Wanye Smith Hi ya, I own 5 3D printers. My cheapest cost me $100 (my most expensive was $300). The 3D printer that Lucas is using is an ender 3 that costs around $150.
@Wanye Smith Its gotta start somewhere. The first computers were huge as well. Imagine where our society would be at rn if everyone had that mindset "Ew those are huge and take up a whole room, why would anyone use these?"
It’s incredible the difference it makes when you actually build something for yourself. It feels like an extension of yourself instead of just another accessory.
Hey Thrill! I love where you took this video! It's refreshing and loving the support for the DIY creators. It's really the grassroots of where VR started anyways...in the hands of tinkerers. Would love to see more videos like this! 😊👍🏻

That intro with the controller falling was amazing. How did you film that with a tripod or did somebody else film that? The editing of these video's is top notch.
Thank you!!!!!!! Yeah I had the idea and I made my guy shoot that shot, I was hoping it would turn out and it did :) really been working on my editing skills!
Open Source is so great for those of us that can't afford the expensive stuff. This was great to see, and I'm looking forward to its advancements in the future.
Those are awesome! Thanks for finding out about this and sharing it. He could probably hire a few people and start a small company to build, distribute, and refine these.
Was really fun seeing you build this :) Though personally I will just wait for good cheap ones to be mass produced, or ones with features like temperature control and touch. But there's someone who has to start innovating so props to Lucas.
It's amazing that you could buy something that works phenomenally for 5000$ or take like a day and make your own for about like 30-50$ (and yes I would love to see more videos like this one) (edit) thanks for all the likes!
Well, not "a day" for your first build 😅 It took me forever to adjust design to my local available parts, fixing issues. Second glove, with my own design, took waaay less time to build
Ive always been intrested with Lucas vr gloves from its starting moments. Its so great to see his project finally getting the attention it should get and need.
@Wanye Smith Have you seen how expensive company haptic gloves are? and then looked how cheap those are? Its amazing how well they work for their price.
@Wanye Smith Why are you commenting something negative about this project on almost every positive comment? Lucas vr is the reason affordable vr gloves is a possibility.
@UCq3uFeGMNfo5uEU93zI4mhA Man what the fuck who upsetted you that much?? You need some therapy with all the hate you got for this vr creator. Of course it's not perfect, of course we know it's big and fragile but it's a proof of concept and it's super super cheap. You probably won't be playing fast paced game, but there are other games than that in VR. And just the feeling of holding an object in VR is amazing. This is not made by a certified company with many engineers, no, it's a fucking glove that you can build by yourself. Nobody exepect it to work like charm, but if you think you can't have fun with it, just don't build them and shut the fuck up already
This is so incredible. I'm not at all surprised by this innovation and it's really humbling to see something like this in a true baby stage. Keep up the good work!
This is absolutely incredible. Since I'm not much of a techie, I think I'll wait until there's an affordable set of haptic gloves I can buy off the shelf, but the future of VR is seeming more fantastic by the day.
This is honestly quite insane. HUUGE congrats, and thanks to Lucas, for taking the time and effort to develop these. I'm definitely looking forward, to what the future holds for him.
I don't know whether it's awesome or terrifying that we are basically at the level of technology shown in Ready Player One. VR was always such a fascinating niche to me since I watched Jacksepticeye play stuff on the DK1. Actually owning one seemed so far off, but now I have a Quest 2, and it's just as magical as I hoped it would be. I can't wait for the market to be as mainstream as it was in Ready Player One.
i can’t wait until gloves like these are perfected and it’s a common thing among VR users to have these gloves to bring the VR experience to the next level
This is EASILY the most amazing thing I have seen for VR. I am so thankful to be a part of this community, and I only wish I had the skill to contribute. I hope something like this will be available for purchase in the near future.
"i want to make it less bulky" proceeds to add more wires than my whole gaming setup has. lol but i love the idea and realy want to see how far this goes
I think that the design can be fine tuned to your hand size to get those wires alot shorter, it's jsut left intentially long now for ease of building and troubleshooting. Also would help to have some sort of cover for the electronics I think, which could also hide all that mess.
Plus when your trying to move around and hold a gun in vr, your thumb will most likely either not be allowed to move that far to the joystick or will glitch into the gun and the whole thing wont work
I love this age of VR, whereas gears like this are only limited to the creativity of the user. I can't wait for what is to come in the next decade of VR!
Alright Thrill... you convinced me. I'm gonna buy my own set. Props to this guy for doing such a great thing, and most importantly sharing it with the community.
I'm a Bachelor of IT student as well and I wish I would've known about this a year ago lol would've bought the parts and attempted it because we actually have to make a raspberry Pi project for one of our units, this would've been perfect xD [that is if this supports any microcontrollers and not just the one shown in the video].
Man this is so cool, I've been using the original vive for a while so I've never used knuckles or finger tracking. I've been following Lucas' project for a while and this is great. Here's to hopefully being the lucky commenter and if not, I'm still going to make my own pair sometime.
Regardless where this project goes, it's shown that it can be made for cheap. And it'll probably end up forcing other consumer aimed gloves to either advance in technology, or come down in price. I'm good with both
This I for sure see being a BIG start to something amazing, that for sure so many people will enjoy and love. There's nothing like watching someone make something they have a passion for.
nah the whole point is that its open source and you make your own, not some company selling them. ig he could sell them built for a little bit more if you just dont have the time though.

I can only imagine what people like this will be able to do when they're working with a proper budget and more advanced tech, the future is really bright for this field
That is sick. Hyped as hell. I swear the future comes right now
RIGHT!?
“Whether that’s holding a gun… or something else” you got me dead my boy

Great power comes with great responsibility
I would hold that something else
TIDDIES!!
With all those wires and such... would you really want that around your junk?
Imagine sparring a virtual partner with these gloves 😁
@Leon S. Kennedy sounds beyond down bad
sounds pathetic
yall what if they were just talking about sword fighting
@@thepizzaguy8477 these fellas focused on partner and not read sparring
@@thepizzaguy8477 wait what else r yall talkin bout. the fuck is sparring then
As a professional software dev and a home tinkerer and maker, this is the kind of stuff I love to see. I hope to get some free time/resources in the future to work on something like this.
Lucas is just one person, but one person is all it takes to make a big impact on anything/everything.
“The right man with the wrong headset can make all the difference… in the world”
Why tf did you even add the “Just imagine:” part, it doesn’t fit
@@meatballsyes3854 true cause the future is here old man.
The greatest advancements we had in science were always few people projects to begin with, if we all just invested more in science or contributed more we could have really crazy things.
This is incredible, I hope it will come soon to market at a relative low cost! A DIY building kit purchasable would be sick
I hope Valve eventually makes vr gloves, and that they're modeled after the gravity gloves
I know that your channel is all about VR, but it was really nice to see the real human vibes between you two in the workshop. Magical.
This looks amazing, big companies will have a run for their money, this is very practical
When you dropped that Knuckle controller in the beginning, I *SCREAMED*
Probably was one of the 5 he broke already :D
He dropped it on a….cushion? Well….I don’t think it’ll make you feel better if I told you what he dropped it on lmao.
More videos like this one please! You just talking about different products are always fun to watch but seeing your excitement and enthusiasm towards these gloves was amazing and really got me excited about it as well!
This is how cool shit is made, made them for fun! i love it and can't wait to try a pair myself.
@Wanye Smith well, your opinion... xD
Its not like ur looking at em while playing
@Wanye Smith not if they’re using the glove as well. Thrill was enjoying them. As long as it’s a game I’m getting killed in, I’m good with that. Just a game.
@Wanye Smith bro are you troll? 😂 Cause if not you need to take your medicine and calm tf down
@Wanye Smith check him out on twitch sir. He plays live.
Maluco brabissimo, parabéns Lucas, vc ajuda o povo Brasileiro, msm q o mais caro seja conseguir o VR primeiro kkkk

this means that in not too long this tech will be widely available to the average consumer, which is absolutely crazy to think about
In a few years something like this will be standard.

You and me both, man
I graduated from university last April. Started working full time. Finally built my own PC for VR and VR development. It will happen if you learn to budget too. :)
Full body force feedback haptic suit and gloves is the only thing I want in life

Yes
Full-Dive if we ever get it
Finally! I cant wait to build these :D Have been waiting since your short.
@Wanye Smith get your eyes checked out moron
Awesome video! Would love to see more videos building this kind of DIY VR accessory!
I love seeing an open source community really come together over innovation.
Hey Thrill! I love where you took this video! It's refreshing and loving the support for the DIY creators. It's really the grassroots of where VR started anyways...in the hands of tinkerers. Would love to see more videos like this! 😊👍🏻
man this age of vr is really like that one age when computers were first getting popular and everyday people were the ones making and pushing the industry forward huh
It's the new wild west, enjoy it while it lasts (before facebook and other big companies inevitably monopolise, regulate and sanitise everything).
Was really fun seeing you build this :)
Though personally I will just wait for good cheap ones to be mass produced, or ones with features like temperature control and touch. But there's someone who has to start innovating so props to Lucas.
It's amazing that you could buy something that works phenomenally for 5000$ or take like a day and make your own for about like 30-50$ (and yes I would love to see more videos like this one) (edit) thanks for all the likes!
prices are really high for new stuff especially when there isnt a standard design yet
Well, not "a day" for your first build 😅
It took me forever to adjust design to my local available parts, fixing issues.
Second glove, with my own design, took waaay less time to build
I'm not convinced the $5000 glove works "phenomenally" especially for that price.
The issue is you need a 3D printer
@@JakeyCmh printers are so cheap right now
Ive always been intrested with Lucas vr gloves from its starting moments.
Been flowing lucas for a while now, it's awesome seeing him get featured on here! Guy really deserves the exposer and praise he has been given so far
This is AMAZING to see! can't wait to see where this goes!
@Wanye Smith Ah, yes, vr headsets are too big, i understand.
@Wanye Smith too big? you can easily argue the $5000 tesla gloves are bigger because of how the force feedback is delivered to the fingers...
i still cant get over how revolutionary this is
Great Video! Thanks for taking us with you on this journey :) Lucas seems to be a great guy and I wish him all the success.
This is honestly quite insane. HUUGE congrats, and thanks to Lucas, for taking the time and effort to develop these. I'm definitely looking forward, to what the future holds for him.
"wiring it up is the hard part, but it makes it easier if you have wires" best quote of 2021
I don't know whether it's awesome or terrifying that we are basically at the level of technology shown in Ready Player One.
This is absolutely insane, we r getting closer and closer to the perfect vr experience!! its so exciting!!!
i can’t wait until gloves like these are perfected and it’s a common thing among VR users to have these gloves to bring the VR experience to the next level
This is EASILY the most amazing thing I have seen for VR. I am so thankful to be a part of this community, and I only wish I had the skill to contribute. I hope something like this will be available for purchase in the near future.
Amazing video! Lucas is amazing!
"i want to make it less bulky"
proceeds to add more wires than my whole gaming setup has. lol but i love the idea and realy want to see how far this goes
I think that the design can be fine tuned to your hand size to get those wires alot shorter, it's jsut left intentially long now for ease of building and troubleshooting. Also would help to have some sort of cover for the electronics I think, which could also hide all that mess.
For force feedback which could only Happen from cutting the bulk first
There are a few problems I see though like what if u want to make a fist, the joystick will get in the way and u would press the buttons by accident
Plus when your trying to move around and hold a gun in vr, your thumb will most likely either not be allowed to move that far to the joystick or will glitch into the gun and the whole thing wont work
God i love seeing brazilians getting recognition for amazing stuff like this
Really looking forward to see affordable haptic gloves mass produced in the near future
Absolutely amazing! The future for this type of tech is going to be unbelievable!
I love this age of VR, whereas gears like this are only limited to the creativity of the user. I can't wait for what is to come in the next decade of VR!
We can only wait until they are being sold to consumers without having to build them ourselves.
But that would bring up the price of the product
@@dracone4963 later then sonner it'll be included with quest and other vr headsets most likely
@Wanye Smith that’s why they’re PRTOTYPES
@Wanye Smith you literally dont see them when youre in VR??? idk what you do with the back of your hands in VR, but it doesnt sound healthy.
@Wanye SmithJesus Christ shut the fuck up i know so many people thatd buy these. because guess what YOU DONT ACTUALLY SEE YOUR GLOVES IN VR
That is so cool, he could make a business with this
@Wanye Smith wat
Oh my God this person deserves all the help he needs to build the best vr gloves there are :D so talented!
I'm good with both
This is such a dope collaboration, shoutout Thrill for sharing your platform with all the best creators
This I for sure see being a BIG start to something amazing, that for sure so many people will enjoy and love. There's nothing like watching someone make something they have a passion for.
there's the PC master race...
and now, there's a VR gloved Magestirial rank!
I hope when he finalizes it he can probably mass produce and sell them
nah the whole point is that its open source and you make your own, not some company selling them. ig he could sell them built for a little bit more if you just dont have the time though.
Each day we are a step closer for ready player one
I really loved this video mate. Great to see the passion for VR between you both an also the vibes bouncing back.
I've seen these everywhere but never really looked into it assuming it was out of my price range. But it's much cheaper and easier than I thought!! I'm gonna build one!!!
