I just started watching your youtube video's on the RC600. For a beginner like me, it's really helping me to understand how everything works via Midi and how it is possible to use an iPad to control the RC600. THANK YOU
This is great thank you, I was wantin to control via midi something for the track fx and the volume of each track.. i see this is one very viable solution!!. I'm wondering if I can assign something small via midi aswell like a akai midimix or something... just got my rc600 so looking into it thank sso much!
Hey man great video🙌🏻 Wanting to purchase an Ipad and do this myself but not sure on which Ipad I would need, do you have any recommendations? My sole and only purpose would be to use it for the midi app
Hello, thanks for making this video! Currently as of 1/16/24 the Parameter Guide is not available for download from the Boss website. Is if possible for you to make it available for us, perhaps via Google Drive? TIA
Thank you, did you see the pics in the links? I use the scarlett to control volume out of the iPad for other backing tracks that are not in the looper. I also use it with Bias FX on the ipad to play my guitars. I do have a positive grid spark 40 also connected to my pedal board. Just love that little amp. Lots of flexibility for the guitars, acoustic and electric.
Midi only sends a signal so you would have to record output from the rc600. Like route your drum kits to sub 1 out and record that output. I hope that makes sense.
Your videos are great! please keep teaching! How to I make a track selection button? I want to have 6buttons, 1 for each track and i want to use one assign. is this possible? so i don't have to use up all my assigns and I can make all my other buttons current track changing.
Hey thanks for the kind words. You cant have 1 button do multiple things. Unfortunately you have to use one assign for each track or button. Hopefully Boss will give us more that 16 assigns in the future. I sure could use a few more. There is maybe a work around. If you use a Boss FS7 footswitch you can set it up for button A to increase the tracks and button be to decrease the tracks. The target would be CUR. TRK INC and CUR TRK DEC. This is listed in the parameter guide pdf.
@@bsmusic3460 i see. in that case, could i make track buttons 1 each assign? like assign 1 = pick track 1, etc. using 6 assigns and then have the rest be current track functions? and yes! we need more assigns. there should be 100+! i don't use the memories cause i do everything live, i would have rather have more assigns. i feel like this thing is a whole computer but instead of giving us the whole keyboard they said "here's the num pad you can do it all still. " pick which functions you want..without being able to see what you're doing in the display. reminds me, is there a way to send info to the ipad like viewing the tempo, or what fx your on, etc? thank you! this turned into a rant but i want to use and master this looper!
@@JadeZabric Yes you can assign a track to each button. Check the parameter guide to see which ones are available. I do not know of a way to get the rc600 screen to show on your computer. You can assign FX to a button but it doesn't tell you which FX unless you label the button. Boss could really give us the other half of the keyboard!!
Looking at your first video, I realize you’re doing exactly what I have been trying to do. I have one iPad with OnSong on it that I am using midi via USB to the RCA 600 which changes the memories and tempo changes. I would like to connect a second iPad with the controllers that you have shown how to create - the problem I have is how to connect a second midi input to the RC 600 any help you can be in this regard is amazingly appreciated
please clarify for me? i love the idea of controlling my RC from my ipad so i’m trying to do what you do.. i went to the ipad appstore and typed in “rc600 midi” and several other variations… nothing where do i get the software and what is it actually called? thank you so much for spoon feeding me
This is really outstanding and thank you for sharing this. I am curious however if you are connecting your on song to the Bosch RC 600 also how you’re able to share the USB port with a touch OSC iPad
Thank you, OnSong is not connected to the rc600. The iPad is connected to a Scarlett interface that goes into the 600. Any backing tracks on the iPad will play thru the 600 to my speakers. The lightning cable that I use on the iPad is a camera adapter. It has a usb-c that I use for charging the iPad. It also has a usb A connected to the Scarlett interface and a hdmi out for a monitor foe karaoke. If you look carefully in the video you will see the connection. I hope this helps. The TouchOSC has a camera adapter with a charge port and usb A which is connected to the rc600 usb-B port. I show that in the video. If you have more questions feel free to ask.
@@5721chevy Thanks that answers my question. I currently have connected my iPad with onsong to the USB port in the RC 600. I have this connected so that the onsong controls all the various memory banks on the RC 600.
That is awesome! I didnt know you could do that with onsong. I do a mix of originals, covers, backing tracks and play to karaoke with a monitor and get the crowd involved. Kinda fun for all. You could split your screen on the iPad. Have onsong open and create a TouchOSC screen for levels. Have both apps open.
Do you have to program each memory with these assigns, or can you do one global setting, so it affects all the memory banks? By the way thank you this is an incredible series of tutorials!
Here is the one I use. USB to RC-600 and lightning connector for charger. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08THFB3FQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Wow amazing, I actually was not looking for this but I am dazzled that this is possible. Soooo cool. Thank you so much man. Anyway, these buttons, how did you do them? After changing from playing barefoot with the RC 300 I find it extraordinarily hard and painful to hit these damn tiny buttons. Any advice? Please
I just wonder, do I have to setup every Memory again ? With the Midi Connection? This is really a pain in the ass. Or is there a shortcut? Can I copy a Memory that I set up with the Midi Connection to my iPad (e.g. Memory 4) to a fresh and new one? Memory 5 e.g..... This would be great. Thanks for your videos. Greetings Mischa
Hi been pulling my hair out trying to record a loop into Logic Pro (one of the reasons I bought it because I thought I could transfer stuff into there and work on it there). Using USB I can manage to create a midi track and hear it but for some reason I can't record anything. Really frustrating. Maybe it's something pretty dumb and simple. I'm not really that knowledgable about Midi stuff.
@@bsmusic3460 Thanks for your reply. I managed to create an audio track and to record the track (i.e. not a midi track - which i don't really need anyway). I found some instructions on a roland site which worked - i.e Press the [MENU] , then [>] button to switch to the page containing “USB., then press the [3] (USB) knob, then press the [2] knob to specify “VENDOR.” Turn the power of the RC-600 off and then on again. This seemed to do the trick.

I do not think you can control 2 different devices at the same time.

Yes any Ipad will work so the cheapest one will work
Thanks,, this is very promising.. Can i claryify will I need a MAC computer? I have an iphone and was hoping to use it to controll the RC600
Not sure but I use the Mac to write the midi to the ipad. I would think you could also do that from your phone

Unfortunately you have to set to each memory. Best practice is make a template and then save to new memory location.
