    Your videos have been incredibly helpful! One question : when I go through my midi targets, I don’t see an option for “mic in mute”. I can access the levels for mic 1/2. For the instruments, I do have the option for both levels and mute. I suspect this may be because of some other parameter I have said differently, but if you have any ideas I would appreciate that! 16:56

      I'm glad you like it. You're absolutely correct. There are only 16 assigns you can use, and I'm using them to send the CC messages. The template also sends program changes and note messages too, which don't take up any assigns. Hope this makes sense. Ross

    What? How did you figure out you could use one assign for "Mode" and "Variation". I don't see that at all in the parameter guide at all.
    Curious if there are any others that could be grouped like that to save assigns.

    • @RossGallagherMusic
      @RossGallagherMusic  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The beauty of MIDI! Because the values work from 0-127, there are many parameters that can be controlled by using a division of those digits. For example, if you find an adjustable parameter with 12 different options, every 10 or so values will control a different aspect of that parameter, e.g., 0-10 will select a certain controller, 11-20 another, etc. Hope this makes sense! Ross

    Hey Ross thanks for the great videos. I have severe vision problems, so using your TouchOSC setup will really help me. I'm new to the RC-6000. I'm struggling with memory vs. system settings. When I follow your procedure, the system settings appear to only be saved for my current memory slot. So if I swithc to song 2 none of the midi changes are there. This doesn't make much sense, hoping you can point me to a resource. ( I've watched the vids I can find). Thanks!

    Hello Ross. Is their a wired option to connect Android device to RC600. I attempted to connect to it and with no luck. I tried my USB to Midi with a USBC adapter to device to the Midi connectors, and plugging in direct to USB on RC-600 and neither worked.

      Great question; not something I've tried myself to be honest. Perhaps there is an app you could download from the Play Store that will allow you to send MIDI commands over USB. I use Midimittr on IOS, but something similar on Android should do the trick. Hope this helps.

    Question about Touch OSC:
    Thank you for your work on the template.
    As Im learning Touch OSC I notice in your drum kit buttons have two trigger boxs layered over each other with different notes assigned. Can your explain function of this?

    • @RossGallagherMusic
      @RossGallagherMusic  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If it's only changing the memory, this is because it will be setup as a program change (PC). The RC-600 switches between memories when a PC message is being sent. You will need to send a control change (CC) message to target specific parameters within the RC, and ensure an assign has been set up within the unit, to tell the RC what it is you would like it to do. Best of luck!

    Ross first off you deserve an award for user interface layout. It is a thing of beauty! But I am little confused about what you do on Memory 65 at about the midway point. Are these system settings? If you switch from another memory location (say Song #25 for instance) over to 65 during a set, will you lose all your settings you had on #25?

    • @RossGallagherMusic
      @RossGallagherMusic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Many thanks for your kind words! I'm glad you like the layout, and I hope you find it useful. I selected memory 65 just because it was a blank memory on my unit, and I was able to set things up for the demonstration, no other reason at all. You can make your assigns system settings in a couple of ways; you could save a memory as a template, like the one I have on memory 65, and then copy that across to each memory you wish to use in the same way, or use the RC Editor which you can download and install on a desktop. Plus you'll ve able to do many more things with that to make your life much easier. Then, just make sure you save your settings after making changes. If you're playing a set and switch to the next song, you will lose the track recordings, but all of the other settings will still be there as long as they were saved in th first place. A simple solution for this would be to have a 'Memory Write' button on your unit, which you can push at the end of each song. Then your recorded loops will be saved if you want to keep them. Hope this helps! Ross

    Hi! I'm new to the RC600 and using a midi controller, your videos have been a great help! I took your template and made it my own, and over the last week I've been deconstructing it, as my hands are full while I'm playing a song, some functions are of no use to me. That said, I would really love to add that cymbal crash to my all start/stop pedal. It doesn't use an assign on the Touch OSC and it's something I'd love to use even if I didn't have my ipad with me. Any help would be greatly appreciated my friend!

    Great video and thank you for the template, it helped a lot to understand how the app works. I have 2 questions: Is there any possibility to set the osc to read the memories of rc 600? I will use it for mixer - guitar-inst L, mic1, mic2, track1, track2, track3, loop and master. In case of system settings it's whatever because mic1,2, guit and master will be used at the same levels through the whole performance and if I feel I need a little extra of one of them just turn up or down the volume, but in case of tracks it's possible that I pre-recorded loops and I set them to memory differently like track 1 to 60 (cause I know it's a louder loop) and track 3 to 120 (because it was not loud enough)
    but it's possible that through the gig I will feel that I need a little more than 60 but if in the touch osc the preset value is 100 and when I touch the volume it will start from 100 and it's a lot louder then 60. Or should I rather set value to relative in case of these potmeters and then it's fine?
    2. question: is it possible to set touch osc to show the values? I set now to use 15 grades and I set rc 600 0-150 in this case it's quite ease to see where is it but it would be so great to see the exact values:) But without it this software is amazing!
    You are so cool to teach us how to make are life easier!

      Hi Jo, as long as the unit can send and receive MIDI, I have no reason to believe why you wouldn't be able to use TouchOSC to control various parameters within it.
      I believe the RC500 MIDI input and output are TRS, which means you will likely need to run a 3.5mm TRS connection between the RC500 and some kind of MIDI hub to make the connection between your preferred device and the RC500. Hope this helps. Ross
