Good objective review, much better than some of the more 'gushing' ones I have seen today. I'm still not comfortable though with a £24k purchase price being referred to as 'affordable'. Not exactly a car for the people as per the original?
Trouble is virtually all cars, fossil or electric, are that sort of price these days - it's not right but this will help electric prices come down - and once 2nd hand are around that will be less... Prices will come down as battery tech reduces price and weight all the time.
@@mikegipson1224New model Dacia Sandero goes on sale early next year for £7995 OTR. Maybe not a car that people yearn to own, but five door five seat car brand new for under £8k? That's much more affordable!
@@whitemoor66 20 years ago not everyone had a mobile phone and especially not a 'smartphine' cos they were too expensive - now everyone has them. It's the same with Electric Cars - the process started over 10 years ago and in 10 years things are coming a long way. It wil get cheaoper
Thanks for addressing the ride quality. Explains (perhaps) why Honda uses really expensive suspension? Could the ride be less 'busy' in the basic (100kg lighter) models?
The car she Is testing is equipped with low profile tires. That is the simple answer that she forgets to mention. Nowadays, plenty of testers on YT are quite "unprepared" in their overall superficial reviews.
Lovely design, but let's face it no one should believe manufacturers battery range claims. They are about as realistic as mpg figures on conventional motors!
I admire the enthusiasm. However, as a realist l have to question the wisdom of this outside a city. The range is still appalling, charging infrastructure is complex, none standardised and often not working. They have a long way to go before a rural dweller who needs reliability and range as standard features will convert.
Lovely cute little EV - problem is their dealer network are absolute rubbish. A a reviewer you get a nice shiny car off Fiat but look at the owners clubs on Social media & see how they are treated. My wife wanted one of these & we drove hundreds of miles to not one, not two but three Fiat Main Dealers & they were all worse than useless. Not one of them knew what the battery was, 2 of them had no idea about servicing intervals or costs & 2 of them told us it has a heat pump like our Tesla. It doesn't! They claim they don't sell many as an excuse for not knowing anything - Avoid the car or be prepared to be treated badly by the dealers.
Eww yuck tiny hybrid drive trains are horrible. There is simply not enough room to do both drive trains in such a tiny car. PHEV are great for big cars. Not Sub Compacts.
All cheap lecky cars usless.. wen i say cheap.. under a staggering £30k.. no range , cheap suspension set ups. Harsh ride. Regeneration braking makes u sea sick and gains almost no power back.. go big or stay clear.. rip off.. lecky cars need at least 250miles range.. they eat power for fun at 70mph.. ad heaters light etc.. % drops fast.. hybrids are more practical all rounders.. mk 4 prius. Best on market. If u like these modern cars.
This could be my first e-car...Range and looks are just what I'm looking for in a small car.
One of my favourite car reviewers.
She's good.
A smashing looking, brilliant little second car, especially with the larger battery, love it.
I agree so much i bought one for that exact purpose! Love it.
The more I see reviews about this Fiat, the more I like it. Especially in this color. Looks awesome 😎
Hi . can it be charged by solar panels.
Ideal city car
Well, those 17" wheels are not that comfy, just take the 15" wheels from Fiat and it is so much more comfy.
Another great review. Great job. 👍
When using CarPlay navigation maps do you get turn directions on the DRIVER display like you do in Renault Clio? Thanks
Yes.
(Just replying to the question on the title)
Do you feel the hard ride is worse on the 500E than on the petrol model? I have had two Lounge 500s and both were a lumpy ride.

@@whitemoor66 well, dacia is a brand manufactured in a really poor country, with cheap materials. It is clear how they can reduce the price so much.
LOVE IT.
About $55 - $65 K in 'OZ' (Australia) I was told when they arrive in early 2022.
Nice Car. Love Italian Design 👌👌👌
Looking forward to picking mine up in June. Will be sad to see the leaf go, but can’t wait for the extra mileage 😊

Those tires are as thick as a credit card, obviously they don't filter anything.
Looks great. Back off 50 miles on each range options for real world range. I think this is also the first convertible -ish EV
Beaten to it by the Smart Fortwo Cabrio EQ
Cool EV and an excellent review. Thanks
I was interested in seeing the third door option.
Love the car. Love the review! Great shots of the car. Not many people do that!
Hope we can get this in California love my 2018 500e
Job well done 👍
A New subscriber 😊
Nice review. Love 500e
I think that the fiat 500 electric is THE perfect EV. Its a must have even if u have a Taycan
Hate the front not as sexy as current .the current 500 hybrid 2020 like has that sporty tilted look . Why do all cool cars end up with that box look

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, Amarcord sounding at low speeds?????? Come on, that’s the reason to buy it!!!
The front echoes that of the first Audi A1 concept car...

If Fiat have made this car a hybrid, a lot of people would buy it for shure !
The old generation is now sold with mild hybrid engine and it sells good. But future is future, and this one is the future.

100 miles range. why should anyone buy this?
Most weeks I don't drive 100 hundred miles. I'm not alone in that respect.
I drive about 20 miles MAX. in one week.
Makes sense for the form factor but not the high price. If it was more affordable a 100 Mile small City car works very well.
