I have been running these for about 2 months on the civic. I combined these with camber plates and Skunk2 and Energy Suspension parts. Absolutely amazing feel. So sharp in the corners. Smooth on the straights. Stiff but not harsh. A huge improvement over stock. Thanks for the review.
I have these and have had problems since. Especially with track rod end and apparently need adjustment lower arms as the tracking is all out. Also since adjusting the height have know acquired a slight twang now and then when turning right or left
Just put these on about a week ago. I added aftermarket camber plates and radial bearing upper spring plates on the fronts to finish the assembly. Feels so nice. Super easy to build yourself. I need better seats because the turning Gs have increased.
brooo its like having a lowrider that how bouncy it is!! haha no jk man i love them they are so sick and they ride perfectly man its just right ive been riding with a 2 inch drop i dig it but im going to go up to 1.5 inch drop or maybe 1.7 inch drop if i can make sure my math is right lol but ima put new tires on and i dont have a camber kit so im going up in height for that reason

Just pucked up a set of fitted to car but never driven on set of these, from an abandoned MR2 project thats been parted out 😢, £300 the set essentially brand new, well happy, hopefully fit soon to my MR2 Turbo, got yellow B6 Billy on with stock springs so hoping I can lower car a bit but hopefully not hit body, anyone have link to instructions / setup guide?
My preload was never set when mine were installed. They were just slapped on. How can I adjust my preload, and if I change it from having none, will it raise my car?
So I'm looking at the body of it and don't see a collar to allow the body to thread up and down to actually adjust the height...so I'm assuming the only way to adjust height is to compress the spring....which would jack up the correct preload rates, no?
can i check with you if the Tein Street Basis for the 2007 Honda Accord Euro R ABA-CL7 does it comes with the HID auto-leveling sensor bracket on the front left?
I’ve had the basis z on my Miata now for about 3 years. They are decent and anyone looking to stay within a budget, these are the ones. Use nb top hats if you are installing these on an na.
I bought the tein street advance for my is200 and i am having problem with the installation some dont seem right with the fitting where the spring meet the Aluminum spacer and spacer meet the OE mounts. Do the Dust Boots that came with the Tein Coilover go at the back cause the oe fronts mounts have it owne Dust Boots already?
Excellent, since first time I seen the brand always wanted to give it a shot, now my oem struts are gone bad -and I am in a budget- so yeah baby tein here I go. Excellent article. Thanks
When installing the top hats…..for the fronts you can use the spanner wrench to hold the green machined top cap in place. On the rears its was a bit trickier…the only way I could do it was holding the center stainless steel piece with a set of channel locks to keep it from spinning. I used my Klein Channel Locks and they did not scar the material. Just out these coilovers on my WRX today.
I have installed my coilover set but the rears seems to look odd. There is no top mount for this set so I reused my OEM mounts. When I jack up the car, looking inside from the trunk the coilovers look normal but when I release the jack the piston rod in the coilover protrudes from the interior and the mount does not sit flush.when I push down on the trunk you can see the piston rod bounce out of the top mount.
So I found Billet upper strut mount fully adjustable do you think that will work with these on a 2002 civic? I don't wanna spend $100+ for them just to not work and I kinda don't wanna go with the adjustable upper control arm
So I have the tein street basis z for my Scion tc 2015, and since day one I’ve put them on, I’ve been hearing a loud bang noise in my front suspension every time I’d turn left or right, please give me some suggestion what might be wrong with it
You should ALWAYS replace the mounts. If the strut bearings are bad it will affect the quality of the ride...such as binding in the steering... I learned that the hard way lol.
Hope you went with new upper mounts. I got my car with these installed and they used nasty OEM mounts. They were old and just busted recently. So now I have to take my struts out and replace the uppers. They completely failed and one of the struts is now out of place
have these and im having an occasional small clunking noise in my front right wheel when i turn the wheel slightly any one know what it might be? it doesnt happen all the time just sometimes
havent done any alignment still since im ocasionally changing it to find the perfect height for my daily driving and havent checked any other components but funs fine i have the front slammed all the way it can and the rear with like half an inch left and havent had any problems with them
Probably around 10k on them maybe a bit more i recommend for starting but if for a real long term id recommend another higher end coil system a more comfy one
Ugh, am waiting on my set. Kinda bummed over China vs Japan MFG. Been waiting since July 6th and it still hasn't shipped. Megan Anti sway bars are also on wait, different merchant, but I got a letter explaining this. I expect my coil overs are in the same boat (no Pun intended).

I also recommend AMR Engineering radial bearing upper spring seats. I used these to match up the front coilovers to the camber plates.
Thank You for watching!

My Tein Street Advance Z have about 30 possible clicks to adjust dampening. Is this normal? The manual says it's supposed to be only 16 clicks.
Noob question, theres no camber adjustment on these? Not sure if all coilovers have it or only certain ones.
I've just had some of these installed on my Lexus is250
They are so bouncy. Definitely not comfortable. What have we done wrong?
yes, they tend to be softer than other coilovers on small bumps. In turns is where they will tighten up.
How do you set preload if the collars are used for height adjustment too?
pandanicoo that’s my question. My springs are loose when I jack up the car. If you have solved this please help me.
Is there a preload adjustment on the street basis
so did they use china steel vs Japanese steel?
I can't find these even on Teins website. I only see the older model, not the new sealed model coilover.

so the camber and caster are unadjustable on theses?

Hi what about the top mounts?? we use the stock ??
Basis Z & Advance Z you will re-use your OEM top mounts. Only Flex-Z and Monosport offer billet upper mounts. I hope that helps
Just got these, don’t have camber arms for the coils, how much natural camber would these give you without any adjustments?? TIA!
Any tips on keeping shaft from spinning as u install top hats

Contact who you ordered from, and they should be able to have TEIN send a replacement
How do I adjust camber on those ?
Any way you can remove the bottom collar? To go lower?

This model of tein coilover you are talking about is this one right? Tein gss60-8uss2. Because I want to get me some for my 04 wrx

So I found Billet upper strut mount fully adjustable do you think that will work with these on a 2002 civic? I don't wanna spend $100+ for them just to not work and I kinda don't wanna go with the adjustable upper control arm
Im not too sure, because TEIN has a specific diameter strut top, which may determine if your upper mount will work.

Where would you buy the strut
Should I get these or the Godspeed Mono-SS?

no, just height adjustment. re-use oem top mounts
I think street advance z have damping. Not 100% sure tho
How many miles do these coil overs last before i have to replace them?
i have seen some TEIN on cars for 30k+

Make sure your top hat is aligned properly. It's an alignment issue or a strut bearing problem.
How to adjust stiffness of this coilover?
You cannot adjust the stiffness on the Basis Z. Only the ride height
what is the max drop in height for these coilovers?
about 3" realistically. They do not drop the lowest on the market. more streetable.
So you basically just adjust height and that's it?
Yes, they are height adjustable and self dampening
these should fit on a lexus sc300 but i noticed you guys dont have lexus on your Make Chart
Where do u buy a single strut?
TEIN directly
i want to buy a set for my ep3 civic, how low can i go?
safely 2.5" all around

Ak47addict they’re pretty nice just make sure to get the one that has dampening adjuster
Oppai Sama so you didn’t get this exact model (Street Basis Z), since it doesn’t have dampening adjustments. Which model did you get then?
Ak47addict I did get the w/o they’re fine and then I switched witht the one with dampening adjusment and they’re great
Okay, so correct me if i'm wrong. but could you put a top hat on it from like a better model where camber can be adjusted?
Forrest Dillard yes as long as the top hat were to fit your oem strut then it would work on this
How do you raise it lower ?
Could not process request. Died immediately
Is there anyway I can get main parts of the tein coilover like if I'm going to "rebuild" some ?
Could these be set at stock ride height
no, they are about 1" lower than stock at there highest setting.
can I lower these all the way without any preload ? has any one tried lowering the farthest they would go? and how did it go for you ?
You can, but the ride will be extremely SHITTY!
I’m looking to keep my ride height but get a little more cornering performance in my LS400. What coilovers do you guys recommend?

i thought these were manned in the states........no?
No, originally all made in Japan, but the Z line are all made in china. Keeps prices down.
Are these the tein coils that go for $460 ???
Maybe, all depends on the vehicle.
Yeah they're the ones you're thinking of
after the coilovers break in how much lower will it drop.
shouldnt sag more than 5mm
Can you adjust preload?
They’re just ride height everything else is pre set

up to 3.5" safely
