Just finished making this snowflake with size 10 knit cro sheen thread and size 7 needle, stiffening with glow in the dark with glitter glue, and can't wait until it dries and I see it glowing! This pattern makes a beautiful snowflake. Thank you.
I loved this one. Very hard but if i had known ahead of time that one set of peacocks i would need to put 7 doubles in them would have been helpful. I have never used peacocks this way. Thanks for sharing
It was so much fun to crochet along with you. I plan to make a bunch of donations different snowflakes this year, and this was my first choice. I agree that this isn’t for beginners, but I found it easy to follow you. Thanks so much!
Very cool! Great pattern! I did exactly what you instructed but on the picots at the last row, I did a half Dc below them and on the 3 picot’s together I did a double crochet, then slipped stitch down 1 ch, then completely the rest for each of the “arms”, they bent a little but using the stiffener, it stretched out and harden fine but it gave it a more fuller look.
Love your videos ( so easy to follow ) ! But I am a med beginner and learned on patterns for doilies years ago. I cant seem to find any of your videos for smaller doilies like this snowflake that isn’t too complicated to get into! I really want your tutorials if you have any?
Beautiful Donna. Hope it's not too late to ask, but, what kind and brand of thread are you using? It looks so much nicer than the thread I use. Thank you
It could be. It's also possible that it just needs to be blocked. I mention this near the end of the video with the starch and iron method if you are using cotton thread or yarn. I also have a full tutorial on blocking using several methods here: th-cam.com/video/8RmccoE2k9g/w-d-xo.html
Sad story time: We've had the same iron in my family since before I was born. I believe my mom bought it in 1972 when she was divorcing her first husband and my brother was a toddler. Somehow, this iron went missing a few weeks ago. My parents are much older now and we think my dad (who just turned 76 today) may have accidentally thrown it away. So my mom went and bought a new iron. The same iron you use in the video. So my question: Did anyone else think it looked like a shoe on the box?

Would it be possible to connect these? I have never done a snowflake before and would love to make a garland
Yes, the two side ends should connect to each other nicely.

I just made this and it doesn't lie flat, I think the problem is too much tension??
