If you think she’s going to fast, Listen and write down what she’s saying to do. Then watch what she’s doing. I just appreciate that she did this tutorial for us. It’s a beautiful snowflake
I had to slow this down to .75x and pause frequently but my Snowflake came out so pretty! Thank you for the tutorial. Going to make a garland for teacher gifts. :)
This is an old video. Learning how to teach is part of this experience for me. I didn’t go to school to be a teacher. Not all my tutorials are beginner friendly. If they are I state that in the title. Good job not giving up and completing your snowflake! Thank you for watching!
Also, dear Dotti, Jonna has to presume you have purchased the pattern and the video supports the pattern to help crocheters follow the pattern. It's always good to read the pattern before viewing the video, and then view the whole video before even picking up your yarn and hook so you have a good idea where stitches go and what they look like. Then crochet along.
I am going to try this tonight. We lost my uncle a few days ago and I want to make one for each cousin to hang on their tree this year in memory of our favorite uncle
I love how you explain every step that you are doing and not just tell what the stitch is. thank you for going slowly and i can't wait to make these for my tree.
I actually love the speed of this it’s great for people who can already crochet and if not we can speed up or slow it down to our own needs thanks for this beautiful snowflake.. I’m going to use it along with some others as an appliqué for my daughters crazy sweater day at school❤

Thank you! I really appreciate this tutorial. I'm making these as gifts for women in two Bible study groups I belong to. They are lovely. Thank you for giving such clear verbal instructions! I'm blind and have trouble seeing the stitches in the video. I listened through once to get a good mental picture of what you were doing. I didn't understand the last loop on the second round until I actually did it. What a great way to get to the starting point if the next round without needing to slip stitch.
I bought my first crochet hook yesterday and made 3 of these today! The first one is wonky (my fault for being a newb), but the second and third came out perfectly! I'm so excited that I could actually make these. Thank you for the tutorial! You may be a little fast for a newbie like me, but that is what the pause button is for! I used white yarn from Caron Simply that has a clear sparkly thread in it. The snowflakes look like they are glistening when the light is right.

These are awesome! Super easy and fun to make. I’ve been making a ton of them, some as gift tags, I put a bunch on my daughters tiny Christmas tree and actually made a garland out of some in different colors. Thanks for sharing, your instructions were awesome and easy to follow.
I loved your snowflake, looking for all kinds of different ones to crochet. I think you did a great job... Not to fast and not to slow, and not drawn out either... I made mine with I love this cotton. the white sparkle... its so pretty. Thank you for sharing...
Thank you for your video. I was actually able to make a beautiful snowflake because your instructions were very clear. For the people who think Jonna is going to fast for you... it's a video, you can stop it and rewind it over and over.
OMG, I am a beginner and I followed it step by step by stopping doing and stopping and doing. My Beautiful snowflake is finished. I did it! Thanks so much.

Hi Deborah! Your snowflake sounds beautiful with the sparkles! I’m really happy to hear everything you liked about this tutorial. Thank you for watching and commenting ❄️❄️❤️❤️
Thank you so much for this. These are almost identical to the ones my great grandmother made that got lost due to a time of homnelessness. I know i can never replace the ones she made but hopefully i can pass the ones i make down like she did.
I thought the video was great. I have never made a snowflake before and it turned out amazing. I got it on the first try. Your video was so easy to understand and see. And at the end instead of cutting the yarn, I finished by ch 20 and then st in same hole as the last st then cut and tired, creating a large loop to hang on tree. 😊 thank you for the awesome tutorial.
I'm a crochet beginner who could only make basic single/double/half-double crochet stitches and nothing more, and I could complete my first little crochet project following your video! Thanks a lot for this tutorial.
Your direction were easy to follow. There were times, were you were going to fast, so I had to rewing to continue. I made in light green and came out real nice. Hello from Panama.
Very nice item ... your tutorial was spot on although a bit fast ... so easy to pause, rewind if need be. I'm going to try a 3 ply yarn to see if it appears more delicate. Thanks so much for the video.
Thank you for your video! I'd like to suggest something for others...I think it's a good idea for them that need to go slower, to watch the pattern first... maby jot down a note of the stitch on a notebook, then, rewind and follow. That way, you get the feel of the pattern before in your head and it may be easier as your following. Kinda like a preview. If you mess up...just start over, no big deal. That's what I do when I need to start slow on something I've never done before...( and I forget how to do a single crochet stitch all the time for some reason..?? (Guess I get rusty after a break for a month or so..??) Just a suggestion from one crocheter to another. Again, thank you for taking the time to teach us all a lovely ornament! Your a great teacher and I learned my first snowflake ever!! Yay!! Very Best Regards, Debra from Tx. 😊
Well done! Clear and precise. Thank you so much. Hey folks, you can hit the pause button at any time or write down the instructions as the video plays.
I enjoyed your video. Your voice is soothing & you don't get into a lot of unnecessary blabbering like many I've seen. I usually stop watching the chattery ones. I know I could skip past that part, but I'd rather find the type video you made here! It sounds kinda like sitting with a friend & crocheting together!! Thanks for sharing this pattern!
Thank you so much for this clear and easy tutorial. I'm going to make a garland! Your clear explanations of the stitches meant I didn't get confused with the US/UK differences in terms as I could just follow exactly what you were doing and describing. Thanks again!
I enjoyed watching and crocheting along with you. The yarn I used already had glitter on, so I guess I got lucky. I like the speed and the way you explain the steps. Could it possible for your next videos to get the camera closer as you crochet? Thanks for sharing your creations 🎅
You can also use something called "Aleene's Stiffen Quick." It comes in a spray bottle so you can't really mix any glitter in but I'm thinking that as soon as I spray one snowflake I'll sprinkle a tiny bit of very fine iridescent glitter.
Cute little snowflake. I've been making all different kind of snowflakes and even granny squares to make a blanket for my daughter. I've been working on other projects too like hats and other blankets
I love this tutorial!! It was a bit fast at times, but that's perfectly fine for me-- I just paused it until I completed the next step :) To stiffen the snowflake, do you just soak it in the mixture of water and glue? Or just dip it? I'll definitely be watching for your tutorials in the future. Thanks so much! Planning on gifting this to my grandparents.
+loveourearth07 I'm happy the video worked for you! I dip the snowflake in and then squeeze it out, then pin it on a cardboard. Thank you for watching and commenting
Thank you very much for this nice video! I just finished the first snowflake and will continue to make another 10 or 12. Then I will put a golden string on the snowflake and add it to a wine bottle as Xmas presents for a nice personal touch.
This snowflake is awesome! Thank you for sharing! I love your tutorials, they are the best! I was wondering whether you could do more Christmas-related tutorials, like decorations, baby stuff (like a Santa Clause hat, or an elf hat and shoes) and maybe some handmade gift ideas. Thank you very much once again. Looking forward to your new videos :)
+Lucia Kozachuk those are all wonderful holiday related ideas and I will be using them. Thank you for taking the time yo comment and tell me and for watching! 🌸🌸🌸
this is hard to follow, you don’t explain exactly what you’re doing sometimes and you use the wrong terms sometimes so i ended up not being able to do this because i couldn’t really understand
@@JonnaMartinezCrochet I had absolutely no problem following along with you and found that you explained everything thoroughly enough for my intermediate skill level, thank you! And I see in another comment where you already know that it's not a triple treble but just a regular treble, but watching you work it was obvious what you meant, so didn't trip me up and shouldn't really trip up anyone other than maybe an absolute beginner I don't think. I actually appreciate your quicker pace because so many videos are geared towards beginners (which is great, but can really drag on when you get past the beginner stage), so again, thank you!
I disagree, I started crocheting a few days ago and I was able to complete this! Plus I learned how to do a double crochet and triple treble thanks to her
@Jenna Cowart, thank you so much! This is actually a treble, I had learned it from another crocheter who called it a triple. After I had already made this tutorial I learned it is only a regular treble. But cannot edit the video once it is uploaded. Hopefully others read my reply’s to comments to learn the proper name. It is in fact the correct way to make the stitch though. Thank you again, I hope you enjoy making snowflakes!
Jonna Martinez I meant that as a compliment 😊 coz it is sweet! Your videos are some of my favorite bc you don't drag out every step. I know how to crochet and I watch to learn new patterns or techniques. It's refreshing to watch videos that move through the pattern without over-explaining, etc. I really enjoy all of your vids. Thank you!
Thank you for this video. This snowflake is beautiful. I learned how to crochet just last week and this was very easy to follow. This was my first project. :)
Thank you for sharing. My daughter asked me if I could make her a snowflake so I looked on TH-cam and came across your channel.I watched it first than started it again and working along with you. Had to pause a few times and rewind a few times but I love the way it turned out! Thank you again! I know my daughter will love it! I’ll be making more. 😁👍🏽
I loved using this pattern and will be making many for christmas gifts!! I will say that my yarn might be thinner because this pattern made one that didn’t lay flat, so I made the chain loops 5 and 3 instead of 6 and 5, and then in the next round instead of chaining 2 between the sc into that 3 loop, i chained 1 and it lays flatter with that thinner yarn!! Lovely pattern thank you!
Ignore those saying you're going too fast. I started crochet yesterday. Made a triangle for some bunting and then made this snowflake. I paused a rewound many times but I have finished the snowflake perfectly. Thank you very much. Great video :D
Thank you so much for your kindness. Congratulations on starting crochet and being able to make this pattern! Amazing. 💕 This is an older video and I have checked my speed in newer videos. Thank you for watching commenting.
I tried to crochet a snowflake from a pattern in a magazine and I got stuck so I just googled how to crochet a snowflake and your video came up! Thank you so much, I'm still a beginner and have taught myself some basic stitches from a book. I live in the UK and I just wondered if American crochet stitch names are the same as UK ones? Anyway I managed to complete it from watching you, with many rewinds! Many thanks, it's for my daughter's birthday as an extra little something to hang on her Christmas tree. I've made it in turquoise as that's her favourite colour. I'm gonna make two more in white. I've also got some tiny sparkly beads which I will sew on using invisible thread. I liked the way you talked about it being prettier done in a certain way and your American accent was reassuring!

Wonderful advice Debra ❤️ Congratulations on your first snowflake! Thank you for choosing my tutorial, watching and commenting ☃️❄️❄️❄️
Well done! Clear and precise. Thank you so much. Hey folks, you can hit the pause button at any time or write down the instructions as the video plays.
+Nancy Susan Barwick I'm so happy you liked the video!
Thank you for watching and commenting!
I’m really happy to hear this! Thank you. I love crocheting with you.
I begin my crochet adventure this evening and I really hope for to make this.....
It’s been 11 months since this comment, do you still crochet?
a year has past

Thanks so much! I tried a snowflake pattern on my own and was so confused . Helped so much to see exactly what space to join into.
I just made one and it's so cute! I'm going to use them as coasters. Thanks so much for sharing this tutorial! Hugs, Vina

Thank you so much for this clear and easy tutorial. I'm going to make a garland! Your clear explanations of the stitches meant I didn't get confused with the US/UK differences in terms as I could just follow exactly what you were doing and describing. Thanks again!
Wonderful to hear! Your garland will be gorgeous! Thank you for watching and commenting!
can u put a written pattern on here so i can redo it at home with doing it via the video
+Caitlin Holmes I don't have a written pattern. I apologize. Thank you for watching and commenting 🌸 🌸

The link to the written pattern is above from Etsy for $2.00 download.
Yes thank you for this easy to follow instruction video. I'm a beginner and i enjoy making this snowflake
I enjoyed watching and crocheting along with you. The yarn I used already had glitter on, so I guess I got lucky. I like the speed and the way you explain the steps. Could it possible for your next videos to get the camera closer as you crochet? Thanks for sharing your creations 🎅
+Paslayas that sounds very pretty!! Thank you for watching and commenting
That was so easy even though I only made granny squares before! Thank you :D
Wonderful to hear! Thank you for watching and commenting.
very nice thank you sooo much for doing this tutorial
+Debbie Johnson thank you for watching and commenting 🌸 🌸
I just finished a snowflake and you did a great job demonstrating. Thank you so much. I’m very happy and will be making lots more.
That’s great! Have fun making snowflakes!
My granddaughter asked me to make her cat a Christmas stocking, I'm going to put the snowflake on it
That’s wonderful !! Thank you for watching and commenting.
I made myself a winter hat and I am putting this snowflake on it. Thank you.
That’s awesome! It’s going to look great! Thank you for watching and commenting!
When u stiffen the snowflake with glue, how much glue do u use?
+Catherine Whittaker I would use one tablespoon to a cup of water. If you are using Elmers glue.
Thank you for watching and commenting
Jonna Martinez b
You can also use something called "Aleene's Stiffen Quick." It comes in a spray bottle so you can't really mix any glitter in but I'm thinking that as soon as I spray one snowflake I'll sprinkle a tiny bit of very fine iridescent glitter.
Cute little snowflake. I've been making all different kind of snowflakes and even granny squares to make a blanket for my daughter. I've been working on other projects too like hats and other blankets
+Cheryl Brown that's wonderful! I guess you will be already for Christmas. Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
I love this tutorial!! It was a bit fast at times, but that's perfectly fine for me-- I just paused it until I completed the next step :)
To stiffen the snowflake, do you just soak it in the mixture of water and glue? Or just dip it?
I'll definitely be watching for your tutorials in the future. Thanks so much! Planning on gifting this to my grandparents.
+loveourearth07 I'm happy the video worked for you!
I dip the snowflake in and then squeeze it out, then pin it on a cardboard.
Thank you for watching and commenting
how long should it take to dry?
+Melissa Schaub I would let them dry over night! Thank you for watching!
Thank you
your directions easy to follow
Hopefully my grandchildren will like it
Thank you for watching and commenting! I’m sure they will love them!
I'm going to hang them on my ceiling in white and different blues : )
+alyssa cavallo oooh so pretty! Thank you for watching and commenting
Thank you very much for this nice video! I just finished the first snowflake and will continue to make another 10 or 12. Then I will put a golden string on the snowflake and add it to a wine bottle as Xmas presents for a nice personal touch.
+Antje Cobbett I love this idea! Thank you for sharing that. 💕✨
I am very happy you liked this video. Thank you for watching and commenting. 🎄🎄

this cute snowflake will be stitched onto an ear warmer headband for my niece
+Katelyn Fitzsimmons that's a great idea! Thank you for watching and commenting
this is hard to follow, you don’t explain exactly what you’re doing sometimes and you use the wrong terms sometimes so i ended up not being able to do this because i couldn’t really understand
Thanks for trying.
Wonderful to hear this. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Thank you again, I hope you enjoy making snowflakes!
im making a present for my bf and gonna use the snowflakes to cover it. they look so cute thank you so mucchhh ❤ love you
You speak very clear, BUT where's the fire woman? 😂
Slow down some, so we can pause the video at least. 😂😂
+Marie Drebitko I try to fit lots of info in a shorter video. Sometimes it works sometimes not. 🔥 Thank you for watching and commenting!
Black Cat Lover w
You can slow TH-cam videos way down if needed.
@@KatarinaS. How do you do that?
I actually enjoyed the pace. I just paused when I needed an extra few seconds.
I like the "Triple treble"...you are so cute, Jonna!
+sdg921 💕 thank you for watching and commenting. Just a treble I guess. I'm happy it didn't bother you!
Thank you!
You go way way way too fast and miss a lot of details.
The beauty of youtube videos is that you can pause and/or go back to what you missed.
I found the pace fine, great video. I followed it once, then did the second one by memory.... And I'm not a very experience crocheter.
+Kerami Roberts good for you! Thank you for watching and commenting. ❄️❄️❄️
Jonna Martinez made several now and it's great cheers
+Kerami Roberts wonderful!❤️❄️❄️
Thank you so much. I'm just learning to crochet, so I paused as I was doing it along with you. I appreciated your instructions.
This is wonderful to hear! Thank you for watching and commenting!
Way too fast
In the settings, you will find the speed option. It lets you speed up or slow down. There's always rewind, too.
Excellent tutorial and very easy to follow. I made a football applique and a set of doilies from two of your other tutorials.
+GenEdTeach7 that's wonderful to hear! Thank you so much for watching my videos and commenting.
She may go fast but this pattern is probably not ideal for someone just starting to crochet so it’s going to be a little hard to follow.
Thank you for this video. This snowflake is beautiful. I learned how to crochet just last week and this was very easy to follow. This was my first project. :)
+Jen B oh wow!! You're amazing! Good job. Thank you for watching and commenting.❄️❄️❄️
A very pretty snowflake and a very clear tutorial especially for a beginner like me . Thank you for making this for us all
Wonderful! Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
I am making a bunch of these to give to family and friends. thanks for showing us.
+Ruth Hingston that's a really nice idea! ❤️
Amazing. 💕
This is an older video and I have checked my speed in newer videos.
