What is so funny is my wife had never heard of or seen Cliffhanger so she never got the reference. We decided to watch it with friends one day (who we found out hadn’t seen Ace Ventura 2) and my wife was dying laughing at the Cliffhanger scene because she got the reference… she also looked like. A psycho for laughing during that scene. Lol
Years ago, I showed both Ace Ventura movies to a friend who didn't see them when he was younger; most of the humor just didn't age great but that Rhino scene made it all worth it. It's a remarkably hilarious scene.
Fun fact, Jim Carrey singing chitty chitty bang bang in the car was completely improvised by Jim. Hence why the other guy was looking at him so confused. He just started singing it and the director loved it and decided to keep it in
My son will still say that to me after all these years. Once in a blue moon he'll move his eye with his finger cause he knows it grosses me out!! Still!!!!
Were the two of you high when you watched this, or just really tired? Both of you were kind of droopy eyed and out of it. Never seen you like this before. 😂
Seriously... You don't know why he don't wanna touch it? He spend like 5 minutes saying that he hates bats! You even reacted to him saying it. I know there is short term memories but come on😂
One of the few comedy sequels that is arguably equal or better than the first. The director of this went on to star in the insane Kung Pow: Enter the Fist which I can't wait for you guys to see
Its really hard to pick between 1 and 2, they are both so good. And totally agree, its really rare to knock it out of the park twice in a row without getting old. Same thing with Addams Family and Addams Family Values. Both are good, tho I think people generally regard the sequel as slightly better
In both cases i'd say you honestly can't go wrong either way. You're going to have a good time. In the case of the Ace Ventura movies, there is something about the first one that just screams "EARLY 90S!" Something about the production value of it, the way it slit and shot, just feels... 90s. I don't know.
What a way to spend the perfect afternoon . Higher than a hippie in a hot air balloon watchin this with my two favorite people oh TH-cam. crackin up over here
Ms. Asia and Mr. BJ,This is One of My Favorites Jim Carrey Movies. I'm non-stop Laughing throughout the whole movie. I'm love Courteney Cox who played Monica on F.R.I.E.N.D.S TV Show Show Ace Ventura :Pet Detective it's My favorite one it's the best. I'm love them both.
He says "Shawshank Redemption" when he's trying to trick them into kneeling. "Burton Quinn" the villain with the Raven is played by Bob Gunton, who was the Warden in Shawshank Redemption.
3 minutes in and I just can NOT wait for the Rhino scene. One of my absolute favorite scenes in any comedy film. You two are awesome and do great reactions!
Jim does goofing off well, but he has done some great acting performances. Man on the Moon, Lemony Snickets and a Series of Unfortunate Events, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Truman Show, and Kickass 2 are all great performances.
🔔 ASIA & BJ: I think that Ace having SUCH an intense fear of bats was quite possibly a joke about Jim Carrey's role immediately prior as The Riddler. In that film he completely lost his marbles after a fight against BATman! So the joke may well be that: He's THE SAME GUY! ["BATMAN FOREVER" (1995)]
Dude was like a real life Warner Brothers cartoon, like Bugs Bunny-his crazy poses and expressions and sound effects. People who still remember growing up on cartoons-you can’t help but laugh.
Love the original Ace-isums this movie his use of Bumblebee Tuna and The Rino 😆🤣😂 but#1 for me him punching than stutting around with "the Monopoly Man" at the fancy party lol Fair Warning: Wont be right away but soon out of nowhere you're gonna find yourselves sayings "SHUuHKa-KaH!"😂🤣😂✌️😊👍
And on the plane Jim Carrey is imitating William Shatner, and it's a reference to William Shatner in an episode of The Twilight Zone (1959) called "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet" and it's about him being on a plane and looking out the window and seeing a monster on the wing but no one believes him.
my favorite joke about that was in 3rd Rock from the Sun was when John Lithgow joked in an episode that "He saw something on the wing of the plane!" referencing the Twilight Zone Movie in which he did a remake of the episode, then when Shatner plays a role as The Big GIant Head in a later episode, he also saw "something on the wing of the plane"...where Lithgows character goes "Same thing happened to me!!"
near the end where Cadby was running and Ouda saw him and shouted at him, what he shouted was the same thing that the Whachutu tribe called Ace - "White Devil" so the two tribes turned and went after him (Cadby).
Hey Asia, I am 5:20 into this reaction, but I had to stop to comment that both you and Ace made references to Sylvester Stallone movies. Ace to "Cliffhanger" and you to "Over the Top". =)
Some other Jim Carrey movies to check out: Bruce Almighty, The Truman Show, Man on the Moon and Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind. Bruce Almighty is less slapstick and closer to Liar Liar in their comedy. The other three are more dramatic movies than comedic.
Hilarious! Asia and BJ are way funnier than Jim Carrey in this movie LOL.. Also that Bat "Shit-KaKa" means Shit-shit. Kaka means shit in Spanish which is another silly funny thing in the movie
Definitely the Rhino scene is the best, but one of my favorite quotes that I still use today is “Well if you were me, then I’d be you….and I’d use YOUR body to get to the top!”
Have you two ever watched the cartoon Robinhood movie I always liked that movie sorry when I saw the fox part it reminded me of that movie it's a real cute movie
The hippo scene will never not be funny. The fight scene was two actors from in livi g color. Such a good movie. When i was younger in living color was the bomb.
BJ you clearly loved this film and i wonder how often you have said to Asia since you watched it "alrighty then" or loooooseerrrr....thanks again both of you for the laughter and smiles
As a long time fan of the Dolphins, the first one holds a special place for me. But, trying to judge fairly, the 2nd movie has some great moments, and sets the perfect balance between nodding to classic bits from the first movie, and forging its own path. It isn't a cop out when I say this ... I think I like them equally.
🔔 BJ & ASIA: The reason that the raccoon rescue scene at the movie's beginning was SO intense is that it was a DIRECT PARODY of a similar scene in the then-recent Stallone movie "CLIFFHANGER" (1993)
The beginning of this movie is a parody of “Cliffhanger”, an awesome 90s action movie. Worth checking out!
Lol
Funny how after that scene BJ said it was a bit dramatic then Asia said it was Over The Top which is another Stallone movie
Cliff Hanger is a great movie 😊 love it
It's funny because she said "it was over the top" referencing that scene, and I thought not over the top...cliffhanger
Next scene is a parody of “The Golden Child” with Eddie Murphy. Great movie
2:17 Asia sitting there thinking, "this is my man you all"
The scene in the gebinning not also inculdes paradoy of cliffhanger it also includes a vision for "7 years in tibet" which was shown 2 years later :D
Great Cliffhanger Omage....
Jim Carrey the GOAT comedy actor
Guys you should watch Jim Carrey's Yes Man movie its really good
Great movie and great that you watched it…..hope you both are doing ok
The rhino part is one of the greatest scenes in cinematic history.
I wholeheartedly agree. Love it!
"WARM!!" 🤣 A family classic
indubitably
? That rhino was a giant asshole to him.
He just started singing it and the director loved it and decided to keep it in
can even see him trying to hide a smile at Jims singing near the end
That was the funniest part to me and my brother when we were kids. Well, besides the mechanical rino scene. Lmfao
@@hansethetooly5421 that's why he stuck his fingers in his ears
The way Asia is just staring at BJ as he resites lines from Ace Ventura 😁😆😂 "Can u feel that? Huh Can u feel that" 🤣🤣🤣
She laughs at nothing funny all the time but I never seen her look at him like that...and not laughing lol
Might have been the 100th time BJ has quoted the movie, and Asia has had enough 😂
@@TheCrazyCanuck420 This checks out...at least in my experience lol
LOL! That look she gave him made me laugh! 😂 She’s like “are you okay???”
I feel like Asia took an Ambien or something before this. It takes her four full seconds to blink her eyelids lol.
Trivia note: The Wachutu tribesman was played by Tommy Davidson. Both he & Jim Carrey used to be on a comedy show called In Living Color.
Sad that newer generations don't know In Living Color. For you youngsters, In Living Color was like SNL, except it was funny.
@@TheCrazyCanuck420I just turned 38, and could not agree more
I'm growing so weary of people sh*tting on SNL. It's funny... Sometimes. @TheCrazyCanuck420
GOOD TO SEE YOU BOTH.

LOL I know right? I thought she was sick, but I guess she's drunk. 🤣
@@JaggedMercenarynot drunk either 😂
lol BJ doing what we did as kids when this movie came out. Drive our parents nuts lol
Kinda hot in these rhinos
My favorite scene of his in any JC movie.
Must! Have! Air!!!
Only Jim could exit a rhino like that 🤣🤣🤣
That line is subtle genius. Implying the relatability of the mechanical rhinos everyone has ridden in. "You know how these hot rhinos are" 😂
WAaRM
Were the two of you high when you watched this, or just really tired? Both of you were kind of droopy eyed and out of it. Never seen you like this before. 😂
OMG, I was thinking the same thing lol. Especially Asia lol 😆
If you have to ask...😂
9:29 BJ's immediate reaction to "the urine stain on his pants" before Ace even explained it lol. He knew. We knew. Meanwhile Asia 🤔LOL!
Seriously... You don't know why he don't wanna touch it? He spend like 5 minutes saying that he hates bats! You even reacted to him saying it. I know there is short term memories but come on😂
asia smokin the dro. The eyes dont lie.
when he's running through the forest while being Darted is my favorite scene lol ... always makes me laugh....
His arms look like woody from Toy Story
Bj has been forever changed… just like the rest of us xD
idk if im high or asia high or we both are cos are eyelids look the same lmao
If you haven't yet, please do So I Married An Axe Murderer.
Jim Carrey's physical comedy is unmatched. He is one of the most unique actors in movie history. A true gem and integral part of our childhood.
I still have to fast forward past the raccoon death scene lol.
It's just a direct parody of a similar scene in "CLIFFHANGER" (1993)
it always used to make me sad lol
Finally! I don't even know how often I watched this movie. 😁
PS: Is everything ok with Asia?
The opening scene is a playful homage to the film "Cliffhanger', by the way.
One of the few comedy sequels that is arguably equal or better than the first. The director of this went on to star in the insane Kung Pow: Enter the Fist which I can't wait for you guys to see
Shrek 2 as well
OMG, KUNG POW is legend.
@JackXombi There are hardly any reacts to it! It's time is coming!
Yeah it didn't have all that "evil sneaky transgender person" baggage.
Mmm... Red clothes.
“I have exercised the demons” … Asia was like wtf are you doing? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂 Yeah. I was on a 2nd date and took a girl to theater to see this. She never smiled once. I'm like ok well there won't be a 3rd date now
@@adampare8088I once took a girl to see Superbad in theaters. She HATED it. I laughed the entire time. First and last date.

This is definitely my favorite one BJ was killing me this entire video
Both are perfection. I will never decide. The chemistry between you two is incredible by the way. See it all the time, never commented on it.
He says "Shawshank Redemption" when he's trying to trick them into kneeling.
"Burton Quinn" the villain with the Raven is played by Bob Gunton, who was the Warden in Shawshank Redemption.

I thought BJ's impressions were pretty good
The scene with the raccoon is a remake of a scene from the movie Cliffhanger starring Sylvester Stalone! Very good movie, y'all should react to it!!!
Did Asia just get her wisdom teeth removed or something?
near the end where Cadby was running and Ouda saw him and shouted at him, what he shouted was the same thing that the Whachutu tribe called Ace - "White Devil" so the two tribes turned and went after him (Cadby).

Anyone over 40 or so should understand the reference. And as I type that I realize how old I really am. 🤦♂
Omg I REALLY hope you guys check out The Number 23 with Jim Carrey.. It’s one of his serious roles, but that movie is AWESOME!!
Hey Asia, I am 5:20 into this reaction, but I had to stop to comment that both you and Ace made references to Sylvester Stallone movies. Ace to "Cliffhanger" and you to "Over the Top". =)

That dramatic mountain scene with the raccoon at the beginning was a reference to a Sylvester Stallone movie called Cliffhanger.
