    Hey guys apologies I used the wrong clip on the last Game FH5. That was the boosted tdp clip not the 25w. This was a lot of work over multiple days and that one got away from me. However I do have the full 25w clip and the results were the same. 3 Benchmark runs at 25w no boosting got me 79fps once and 80fps twice with temps back down to 73-74c. SO basically same results but I don't like when something like that gets past me. Thanks for coming to watch.

    I have the Go, and nothing prepared me for how big and beautiful its screen really is. It elevates my gaming experience every time I grab it, no joke. it's an absolute pleasure to game on. Small text is fully legible, everything looks sharp and vivid, it's really the best handheld I ever had, and I had quite a bit of 'em since the early GPD Win 1 era.
    The only real thing the Ally X has going for it is its amazing battery life, and I have a battery holder + battery pack for that purpose on the Go.

      No it also has vrr which is a main deal breaker of people not getting the legion go it's the reason I won't get one until they add it

      @@liamseekins9488 I won't argue further than that, but I have a GPD Win Mini with VRR, and I think that's such an overrated feature. It makes zero real world difference to me unless I'm bent on comparing it screen to screen, and even then once I'm gaming it's not noticeable at all. There wasn't once where I felt like I'm missing out on VRR during my Go sessions. If the FPS heavily fluctuates it's not enjoyable with or without VRR.

    From watching this video is exactly what I've been saying in my video.. I knew the Rog Ally X wasn't going to preform all that much better than the Legion Go.. I knew it. The fact both had the same type of Ram speed on LPDDR5X 7500. The Rog Ally X only has 8GB more ram. Thats the only difference. Great compersion.

      80whr battery???? That's a huge difference between the 2. The 24-gb ram makes a huge difference, too. Less stutter and more smooth gameplay. But trust me, you can't see until you try it. I'm not trying to bash your comment tho just talking from experience with both devices.

    • @GameTechPlanet
      @GameTechPlanet  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You are correct. It “ feels “ different to play. There are plenty of games especially down the toad where the additional ram is gonna help. But yea actually performance will be similar. Not to mention how very very different the two devices are. Love them both but for totally different reasons

    • @GameTechPlanet
      @GameTechPlanet  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      When we are talking actual performance “ for now in most games “ its similar. Hard to tell as games come out that want more system ram how that will play out. Will be doing alot more videos over time. But besides the performance theres so much difference between holding and using the two decices. The larger screen is the main thing i love on the Go but being I am a handheld gamer it does get bulky and uncomfortable sometimes even for me. The Ally X is soooo much more comfortable and all the buttons feel better and has waaay mpre battery life. So ots a tough choice for alot of people.

    c.clock on X was lower than the Go most of the time...and its temps were way lower too.

    • @GameTechPlanet
      @GameTechPlanet  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@prestin5304 yea depends on the game and areas. When i go thru rly slow theres times the ally clock is higher and then others ots the Go. In general tho the Go does seem to be setup to push those higher more often. This would account for the 0-3 fps difference. Of course FPS is only a small part of the story or game experience. Alot of the higher system ram heavy games I keep trying now the Ally X stays smoother with the additional ram and maybe some other tweaks. But its very interesting to compare all these.

    When its all been said and done, because the legion go is the only windows 11 handheld PC that can transform into an actual tablet (by removing the joysticks), I can definitely say the Legion Go is more of an iPad Pro Killer. I own a 12 inch iPad Pro (M1), but due to its size, i also bought an iPad Air (M1), however, since purchasing the legion go, I've never touched these devices because: 1. When I am at home and needs a huge screen, I have a dock to connect the Legion go to a monitor, mouse and keyboard 2. When I am on the move, I bring the Legion Go (without the joystick) and I have a Microsoft folding keyboard and Microsoft arc mouse, which is very compact. As for the battery life, putting the Legion go on power saving mode, I have an all day battery life (between 5 - 7 hours), which is comparable to my iPad. But what I really like about the Legion Go compared to an iPad, is that you don't have to think of any workarounds, and you don't have to worry about file management because you have a full Windows Desktop with you, as compared to the iPad OS. Honestly I had high hopes that Apple would turn the iPad Pro to a convertible Mac, but for 3 years of waiting, I doubt that it would ever happen. I'm already considering selling both my iPads at this point, because Legion Go is such a better option in many ways, but the real secret is Windows 11 (though many gamers hate Legion Go because of Windows).

      Yeah I had the M1 12.9 inch pro too and for awhile I was using it with an Anker USB C dongle with a 512gb micro SD for expanded storage and after some update last year it no longer reads the dongle. Apple is garbage, and they want to force people to dump hundreds and breadcrumb memory options. Probably won't use their devices anymore. Apple will never allow you to run Mac OS on an iPad. Doing so would enable users to download programs outside of their app store. Apple makes most of its money from purchases of software and subscriptions from their store, from which they take a large cut.

      This statement isn’t true at all. They’ve had some issues with one of their contractors handling the rma service, but overall have done pretty well with their customer service. Best Buy has helped a lot with returns and exchanges and has made things super easy for customers that purchased from there.
      Steam deck also had rma issues with one of their contractors as well. Unfortunately it happens with a lot of companies but people like valve so the steam deck problems were largely overlooked or ignored

      In recent years???? LOL no they have always had terrible warranty service in the USA. I used to use them exclusively for building desktops until I got sick of them making excuses not to RMA shit that was bad, I bought a brand new Asus mobo in 2006 and the fuckin thing was dead on arrival and they wouldnt even look at it to replace it. So much for warranty and service.
      Ever since then I have hated Asus, countless things they never fixed back in the day and they still fail for everyone.
      Only reason the ally x intrigues me is vrr and 2 USB C ports with 1 being TB4.
      TB4 makes it a desktop replacement because tis very easy to run a desktop card external at home for it with TB4.

And when you allocate 8GB vram your left with about 4GB system ram after boot up for games to run. Not good. If you watch the AC mirage part of the vid u see how even 6GB over 4GB drops performance because that game need more system ram than vram. Id never allocate more than 6GB on a 16 shard system. I dont agree with the take but i respect the comment lol. Been messing with more games after the video stuff to and while at times its the same there are games that demand much more ram where i dont have as much frame drops due to the lack of available ram. Its not a big issue right now but i do believe these shared 16GB devices will start to fall more short as new games are landing. Will see. Two things about the smoother. On the device screen itself the Ally’s vrr is a smoother experience vs the non vrr displays of the steam deck, legion go. But i wasnt rly talking about that in the video. Im talking frametimes. FPS being higher is 💯 not what makes a game “ smoother “ to play. Its frametimes that do that in a big way. And in some games the Ally X is getting much more stable frametimes resulting in smoother play. I love both the Ally X and The Legion Go. Before the Ally X the Go was my top recommendation for people that were ok with the size and weight. Id never blindly tell everyone to buy one device as that doesn’t work. People have different taste and needs when it comes to these products. The Legion Go is not for everyone and neither is the Ally X or Deck or Claw. Theres a lot of questions to ask someone when making such a recommendation.

    Is the rog ally x actually worth to buy, if its like 300 Dollars more in retail? I'm from Switzerland and the Legion Go costs around 600 Dollars and the Rog Ally X is 880 Dollars. I don't think that the Rog Ally is a contender at all, since it doesn't give you much of a performance boost, compared to the legion go. Additionally, you can remove the Controllers on the Legion go and even use the controllers as a vertical mouse. So is there really any reason to go for the Rog Ally??

    • @GameTechPlanet
      @GameTechPlanet  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They are two very very different devices. Cost is a big aprt cause globally it is so different. For me its only a 50.00usd difference between them. As far as the devices people have their preferences. The Go is much bigger and heavier which will turn some people away. The Ally X is much more comfortable to hold and use and the battery last about twice as long as the Go. Almost. Theres tons of other differences as well. Its really personal preference of the type of device and features you want. While they offer similar performance. The experience of using the two is drastically different.

    The Lenovo LG and the ASUS RA-X are both priced at £700 here in the UK ! I love the big screen of the LG ! Which one should i get to use at home (not outdoor) for RPG games like GOW, RDR 2, The Witcher 3 and Horizon.
    Should i sacrifice LG's screen for RA-X's battery, smaller screen and performance !?!?

    • @Me-la-pelass

      I prefer the lenovo legion go for play indoors.
      For outdoor rog ally x. Just for the battery .
      The ROG Ally X only makes a big difference in battery life, but if you play at home, you don't need the battery.
      Also, just keep in mind that I played Wukong on the Lenovo for 2 hours and 10 minutes with the battery on the Lenovo Legion Go.
      On the ROG Ally, it was 3 hours. So the difference is 50 more minutes.

    The rog ally is the only handheld I don’t want tbh, yea it has VRR, but that screen is so damn small with bezels, are you serious? When the screen fills the entire device it looks 100000 better. Just like on a desktop, the display is truly everything.

The legion go and ally x are my favorite Windows handhelds. While I continue to prefer the screen on the Legion Go and the kickstand ( im not someone who ever removes the controllers ) the Ally X is my daily driver that I enjoy. For now. Lots of new stuff on the way. Ill always try to give u guys fact and opinion so you can make your own buying choices. And while I will always try to keep bias out. Its just human to have some bias and preferences no matter what. So i try to be clear in the videos. Appreciate the comment.
