That’s fair, I’ve been debating doing a test where I match the fps on this and the ally x to see what power it takes to run at the target and see how they compare.
Thank you for providing tests with both FSR off by default (my preference) and FSR on. Subscribed just for that. Audio test was appreciated too. Ultimately, I want the Onex w/ HX 370, but I do not want to pay for it.
yeah it costs a pretty penny. I'm actually filming a battery test based on performance target as i write this. targetting 60fps in cyberpunk with FSR and frame gen, but seeing which device will last longer due to efficiency and being able to lower the TDP to achieve the 60 fps target. The ally is looking to win, but not by near as much as people assume.
Did you try changing color profiles? I'm willing to bet the SD Oled is just as punchy as the one x fly, except that the manufacturers are using different color grading profiles. Because oled looks pretty much the same between the variations in this technology. I think the one x fly was color boosted to make it more punchy.
@okestgamer yeah, I believe the color profile/grading is the reason it looks so drastically different. Just like how lcd tvs on display at the store all look different.
thanks for the support! look forward to a performance based battery test coming soon! targetting 60fps in cyberpunk and seeing which one can hit the target while saving battery. running the test as i write this haha.
@okestgamer I've put the xfly in the cart twice lol, there's such a glut of handhelds right now I'm hesitant. I like the steam deck but I like the size of the xfly better for a handheld and it has dope features in it's own right. I'll definitely watch for the 60fps comparison. At the 7" size I'll bet fhd looks great on the oled and keeps hardware from having to push 1440 or 4k, I know I'm rambling.... 🤣
so its the Harmon APO, its basically a driver that should have been installed at the factory level, but there seemed to be some issue with a batch of devices where windows and some drivers were having issues. it's very easy to install manually, it made a major difference, and is what the speakers were supposed to be if all was installed correctly.
There are bios files provided by onexplayer when they come out, most of the updates are the AMD drivers and the onexconsole software. I know they are working on putting more updates through onexconsole in the future.
So I won't be playing at those settings, I'll use FSR and lower graphics settings in actual use. When I did those sort of gameplay demos people wanted me to do them without FSR so I tried that on this video, with occasional clips of my actual play settings. . Frame gen is also a great tool
Can you do a test where you match the fps on both ally and f1 pro to see what wattage is needed for f1 pro to run the games to get the same performance? Then we can also get an idea of battery life as well. From what I have seen so far most of the games that run at 30w on ally can be achieved with 15-20w on f1 pro.
Having an ROG Ally X , there's a few games even it struggles to get a nice stable 30 fps , so seeing some of those game like Horzion was nice and made me think maybe i should get this one too , but seeing the price ? I think i'm good. I didn't think it would that much different in price! Still impressive! I do wonder how well it would do in Avatar FoP.
I have a GPD WIn 4 with the HX370 - at low, 900p, FSR on Ultra Performance, w/ Frame gen; I can get about 50-60fps (30-40 w/o frame gen) constant in Avatar FoP @~30w.
Man this with the ally’s 80 watt hour battery would be endgame handheld (until more powerful apus come out)**edit** vrr on oleds is another thing that would make this perfection
I think they should leave the battery as is because of the compact size of the device. They should wait until solid state battery technology becomes readily available. The bigger these devices get, the less portable they become.
The battery alone makes ally X more worthwhile. Portable stuff needs battery, anything below 80 is a no go. Asus has already set the portable pc standard.
I'm actually running and filming a performance based battery test between the 2. targetting 60fps cyberpunk with lowest settings to see which device can run it more efficiently. ally x will win, but not by near as much as most would assume. stay tuned.
The price for that piddly battery is NOT worth… Also I get the feeling that One X Player isn’t a reliable vendor in the long term. Seems they churn out new hardware ALL the time, makes me question how long they will support their current products before moving on to the next shiny thing.
Im debating making a short video to test battery performance where I target a certain fps (maybe 60) and see how long this and the ally x last. See if the extra horse power allows it to save power to reach the goal and how much ground it can make up. I doubt it will match, but should be closer
I'd like to wait for the Aya Neo 3 to come to market before I add another device to my collection. OneXfly isn't known to have the best QA and I got burnt by receiving a 6800U handheld that had a unresponsive joystick out of the box. So unless they've upped their game on shipping products that are problem free, they need a lot more to get more of my money.
I'm thinking the AI 370 will win. I did try match the ray tracing settings eta prime did for cyberpunk and it's not as good on the onexfly as the claw 8
@@okestgamer I think Intel has better RT (Does the AMD even have hardware RT support?) This seems like AMD was caught napping a bit but will probably fix that in a later chip.

The biggest thing I look at is that either you're going to be over the edge and be above 60fps or just below 60 on the ally x. It can be resolved by lowering the quality, but then if you do that on both you're going to have an even larger gap
I like this device. I was close to getting it but I got my GPD Win4 because I'm an IT guy and like the Windows platform and the keyboard. I don't really like using Steam that much, but when it comes to emulation, I find that no matter how powerful your device is, emulation for certain systems sucks. Xbox, PSVita, and Dreamcast can be unplayable, which is very annoying when the unit I have is way more than powerful enough.
I think the new MSI Claw is the most powerful, it can run Cyberpunk with full RT, I don't think this can. That is an Intel vs AMD thing though not their fault.
this will run games without RT better than the claw, but the claw will run RT better. I suppose it depends on what each person will consider the most powerful. either way, i hope to get ahold of a claw for testing.
Honestly this is great in almost all areas( and fine in others) but the pricing is just not there (1500 freedom units) the apu while more efficient than z1 extreme is not that much more powerful to add 600 dollars on top of the already expensive rog ally x.

I had to einstall windows. Fixed my issues. Would have kept bazzite on it but no frame gen. Once I reinstalled windows, wow just wow, performance is great
@okestgamer does get expensive though, that's why I tend to limit myself with these. Cos it adds up in time, and is not a cheap hobby collecting them, without selling either.

@@DaveTheeMan-wj2nk You're going to lose that bet. Nintendo has historically never pushed hardware specs. The last time they had the best hardware was in the 90s and even that is debatable. That's on early stages of what they soon will be capable of. And also wanted to say that re-sell value of devices that you get for 1500$+ is like 600-700$ max. So you always loose money in this type of devices. Always.
Yes you will lose money on any tech purchase typically. It’s very often that a new champ comes in to take the crown
I had to einstall windows. Fixed my issues. Would have kept bazzite on it but no frame gen. Once I reinstalled windows, wow just wow, performance is great
Legion GO is still better
Glad you’re enjoying the Go, do you own both of these devices?
@okestgamer does get expensive though, that's why I tend to limit myself with these.
Cos it adds up in time, and is not a cheap hobby collecting them, without selling either.
yeah that's true, i tend to keep them due to the channel
oxplayer pro is better but cost twice as much rog ally x is $800
Not quite twice, but about $570 more than ally x. It’s more a new chip that will outperform the older Z1E. It’s a good preview of what to expect from the ally 2
msi claw 8 has better fps
It's actually shown to perform a little below the AI 370. I'm hoping to get one of those to test and compare. I anticipate very close results though
The OneXfly has OLED though. After using OLED I have a hard time going back to LCD. Maybe the Claw 9 will have OLED, then it will be interesting.
48 wh battery faaaail
It's not bad if you target a certain fps target. Would not do as well as ally x but would be closer I think
Not bad 👍👌
Glad you enjoyed it.
that switch 2 is gonna come out with that new shiny Nvidia chip.
All these junk windows hand helds are gonna be absolutely WOOPED.
I'm doubtful of that if it's a performance standpoint. Sales definitely
@@okestgamer I wouldn't be so sure. based off of what we know it was running the Matrix Demo at a very nice frame rate. This is Nvidia afterall.
I think it's going to absolutely just embarrass these Windows hand helds both in performance and price. I really do.
Based off of the leaked specs if they are true, it's not even going to be close.
But we'll see!
Alright it's time for a bet. Loser has to buy a round of beer or coffee for their friends. Winner can brag lol
@@okestgamer Deal. I'll keep my word too! If it's stronger, I get a coffee, and if you win? Either for you :) See you back here when it comes out!
@@DaveTheeMan-wj2nk You're going to lose that bet. Nintendo has historically never pushed hardware specs. The last time they had the best hardware was in the 90s and even that is debatable. Unlike the other companies, they are always looking to make a profit from hardware sales and they can't do that trying to be at the forefront of tech. With that said, the Switch 2 will outsell these handhelds easily on name value alone. It doesn't need top of the line specs.
cute click bait.. yeah that's what they said "ONEXPLAYER Official - Best Performing Handheld Game". Facts.. its not worth the price.
Why thank you! Felt cute today, might delete later 😉
