Your poor wife is a trooper. You could see she wanted to help but was scared of what you were telling her to do. Bless her heart. One more thing, I love the long length of your videos.
This is what keeps me watching .... I'm not a diesel fan, not a 'big pickup' fan and not a dually fan. For me, it's the way you and Rick interact and work together, you both have talents that are special both individually and as a team. Having the Mrs. jump in to lend a helping hand when needed is just icing on the cake!
Diesel, Diesel, and more Diesel's.... keep going Diesel I love it.. The look on your wife's face was priceless.. and I agree with many other comments... 1 1/2 - 2 hours episodes are great
Big Thanks to Dave ! I also have a Machinest friend don't know what id do without his help ! The freeze plugs you were buying were for a deeper bore. NNKH had this problem on his fury and had to swedge them out as you did .. keep up the great video's
My daily is an 87 F150. It’s the body style after that, the brick-nose. It has the 300 inline 6. Possibly the best motor Ford ever made. 4 speed manual and the first EFI 300. It might be the most dependable vehicle I’ve ever owned.
‘87 is the brick nose after that you have the O.J. And before that was my personal favorite the ‘bullnose’………but yeah a 300 (4.9) in a bricknose with a manual trans doesnt get much better for dependabilitys sake…..very bulletproof drivetains
More great content…thank you. Those Cummins engines are freight trains. I’m glad they’re as good as they are where they were stored outside. I’ve said it before….I’m envious of the rust free examples you come across. In New Hampshire that just doesn’t happen
Always my favorite channel. Thanks Dave for the big assist! You blew me away when you said you do this all on your phone. Much respect! Keep'em coming.
Travis..respect to Jim..to take the hard action of selling off his collection...to many projects sometimes stymies production..as the video rolled i noted so many cool vehicles..regards to the Mrs and your Dad..have fun ..
Hey Travis - at 34.09, the car in the background is a 1951-1962 Ford Consul, manufactured in the UK. Something one doesn’t see very often here in the states.
Yep, that's what I've worked out is best to use, & always handy to the job. The fact that the brake effort was so bad was most likely the front discs needed skimming to allow new pads to have a good friction surface, IMO Oil comming from exhaust on second motor could've been from any oil collected in the upper part of the engine if it had been accidently laid over after removal from the original chassis ? So in short, Travis could've run that motor for long ger
Hey Travis..I'm from the West Coast of the Land Down Under (Oz) so thanks very much to you and your Dad for showing me all these very interesting places that you've got over there and all the gr8 history. Awesome place America..love it! ❤ 😊👍
congratulations to your family on your upcoming baby, i love your channel cause it involves your family into your car and truck projects. cant wait to see your new bundle of joy
i legit got out of work at 6.30 am and your video popped up so i watched it before anyone else's video's because i love your content i always enjoy watching you and your dad fixing cars
Thank you for the amazing content, I really enjoy the diversity of vehicles you and your father work on. I daily a 7.3 powerstroke so seeing diesel content is awesome! Thanks again man we appreciate it!
Hey guy's, Mick from Australia here. Love you're channel how you calmly work through things. You're dad is a real champ. When I do disk brakes I leave the old pad in there and use a C clamp on that. You should keep that truck as a tow vehicle. I would love it over here.
Travis for all the old restorations and terminology your bring us there's one term I love to hear ya use "give her a lick and promise" referring to when some one dose a quick rinse on a vehicle, my great grandfather used to use it, I think its origins are from the old horse and buggy days where one would give your horse a quick wipe down after a good work out
I used to work with my Dad for a while, I gained a completely different perspective about him, he is in eternity now, but those were good times. Your Dad is a stand up blue collar guy.
The best way to Presto's Pistons back in is use the old brake pad that you're going to throw away anyway use that with the C-clamp to push it in a lot easier
Even though the truck is relatively new by your standards, its time in the desert turned it into one of your crunchier finds. Once this rig's running right you shouldn't have any problem getting this off to a good home. This beast is meant for serious work. Thanks for posting.
That truck in front of the Butterfield Stage Stop @ 36:21 would be a great candidate for one of those Cummins. Also I think your 88 would look good in a fresh coat of paint. If you ever watch Sleeper Dude they have a little baby pool that they use drain radiators into.
I love a bullnose f350 crew cab and it's a manual, and its a Cummins, which makes it some much more cool. These bullnose trucks were the truck i remember most growing up in the 90s
Looks like you do same as me, keep all the plastic tubs and containers to use in the shop. Drain oil, wash parts, mix stuff, etc. They work fine and are already paid for.
Fantastic work, always have a great time cheering you on. Sorry I won't make it to the duct tape drags this year. I'm not surprised that the 62 Caddy sold already!
Travis, IHave been watching your channel for quite a while now. Think you and your father are the best. Keep it up. Enjoy all your little extras you put in. I had a new 200 350 dually diesel 6 speed. Got rid of it with 50 k in 2015
Thats funny, it looks like a laughing dove sitting on the nest ! That will be a great towing truck with the Cummins power plant. Great content as always
A trick I have used to get those fans broke loose is, slide the combo wrench open end on the hex. then hit the box end of the wrench straight on like you are trying to bend the shaft while holding slight tension in the direction to loosen it. usually by the third hit it comes off. also used on hoses and stubborn bolts. The bigger the wrench the bigger the hammer
Well Travis you got a flip for sure. You can always improve or do add ons if it does not sell. That drain plug deal was really something I would have never expected either. Plus 2 extra diesel Cummins engines.Thank you for sharing ! 💯👊👍
Hey my friend next time instead of using the piece of wood to pry back the wheel cylinders just use the old brake pad and pry it back using the old brake pad. things you need to know LOL
I've been to Arizona once and I think it hit 114f. That was crazy. I admire you folks living and working in that heat. Plus you seem like great people. Really enjoy your channel, wish you all the success in the future. Cheers from Central Alberta, Canada!
I’m a big fan of your channel big big super fan. I like when you guys buy cars now you’re buying diesel motors to fix the sell. I think you should do more of that for your content for your for your show. And the old trucks too I like keep doing more thanks appreciate it say hello to your dad.
Just Wanted to tell You a trick to bend things back straight better then using channel locks Grab a crescent Wrench adjust it Down so it just fits and use that it's easier and won't mess things up. My Pops showed me that trick when I was a Little Guy. Looks like you made Out Good on the Deal. Good Luck
Front pads were cracked probably because rotor pistons are dragging. They were way too difficult to retract. Also, effecting acceleration. Do the whole brake system (rebuild calipers/wheel cyls, master) particularly since you plan on selling it.
Man I’m so jealous of the weather, your shops wide open, almost no rust… I’m in northern Canada and it’s cold, snow everywhere and no shop! Makes me wonder why I live here lol
I really like the '70 Ford 3/4 ton takes me back to when my uncles were alive and I was a kid and they drove those an old Chevrolets of the same vintage
Hey Travis Hey Rick remember Dawn Dish Soap for all your grimy power washing needs. I’ve been using it since I guess 1981 to clean everything under the hood. Great Video Thank You 🙏
I love it. “STANLEY”. That’s so fitting. Although i thought you swung an ESTWING which would be a different name for a boy or girl. Congratulations gang🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤😊😊😊
I'm not a diesel guy but I don't mind learning a little bit. You certainly taught me a few things. I used to live in Douglas and I've made that drive through Bisbee and Tombstone too many times to remember. I never tire of the scenery in Bisbee especially when the town is covered in snow!
Great video. Being British I love big diesels in pickups. I don’t know if you have a thing in the USA called REDEX. It is a fuel additive and a fuel cleaner. My dad had a 20 year old Land Cruiser.put it in every tank. So I would recommend dump a bottle in 15 to 20 gallons.
I carry a 17mm MAC wrench in the glove box just in case I have to bleed the injectors. It's a tubing wrench on one end and standard open end on the other, PERFECT for the job!
Well… As a European I find this videos fascinating… like a free course in truck engineering… I do understand the appeal of these old work truck, heavy duty and all … would never work in Europe… simply to BIG 😅 BUT as far a design and craftsmanship is concerned … top notch sir … 👍 Merry Christmas 🎄 Greetings from Germany everybody 👋
Yeah. It's always better to keep whatever parts and things stocked "in house" when you see em on sale by a bunch of em. Then not only are you saving money by buying em on sale. But also saving money and time not having to use up fuel driving to get em.👍
You and your dad's awesome I love you you guys about trying to tell you what to do I'm just maybe giving you a suggestion that's all you know you guys are awesome man you know what you're doing I love watching your channel and keep up the good work Keep On Keepin On my friend

Glad you’re here to tune in man . Yes old stuff galore here

Wow...quite a debacle with that freeze plug...thanks for the help, Dave!
Big Thanks to Dave ! I also have a Machinest friend don't know what id do without his help ! The freeze plugs you were buying were for a deeper bore. NNKH had this problem on his fury and had to swedge them out as you did .. keep up the great video's

@@dandunlap8638 yeah i caught that after i posted….

I used to know nothing about mechanics.
Every video I watch, I feel like I learn A LOT!

Yep, saw that rare British Ford.
Interesting didn’t even see it
😮😮😮yes, a consul by FORD MOTOR COMPANY UK 1.7 L straight 4
you do work hard and I don't know how you do all the editing on your phone and it turns out that good... well done...
hey Dave thanks for helping our boy Travis ..
Hey Travis, instead of using a piece of wood with the c clamp to compress the calipers I just use the old brake pad. Works great.
Yep, that's what I've worked out is best to use, & always handy to the job.

Watching all the time! Keep up the good work.

I have learned a lot from your troubleshooting. Thanks for explaining things the way you do. That was a good catch on the voltage regulator.
Great job Travis , you are a great ,love seeing your work and videos…

Appreciate you doing this for us, the viewers.👍👏🏻
Really liked this video as i am a diesel mechanic myself
Love your videos Travis. Haven’t had the best time in life recently and this video brought some light to me. Thank you bro.
I love that old Ford dually.. Man so sweet it has the cummins :)
Your best video yet. Your wife really dresses up the channel.
When I push the calipers back in I use the old worn out pads with the c-clamp to push the pistons back in.
Me too.
Great video. Keep up the hard work! Hope your channel grows. I watch a lot of the car channels and really like yours. All work and no clowning around!
Travis for all the old restorations and terminology your bring us there's one term I love to hear ya use "give her a lick and promise" referring to when some one dose a quick rinse on a vehicle, my great grandfather used to use it, I think its origins are from the old horse and buggy days where one would give your horse a quick wipe down after a good work out
What a great neighbor Dave is! You're fortunate to have a talented machinist next door!
Awesome video as always Travis and Rick.
Thank god for neighbours like Dave. Proper bloke n sorted ya right out 👍👍👍
that neighbor of yours is a great guy

Quite enjoyed this awesome job on the Ford, as soon as I saw the oil coming out the the exhaust knew the turbo was done both sound like great engines

I really enjoy what you guys do keep up the good work
We removed the wore out power junk and crapamatic trans from our 93 f450 and put in a 93 12 valve with its manual trans now that truck is a beast.
Hey Travis, Your videos are more than adequate. Amazing what one can accomplish on their phone!
Looks like you do same as me, keep all the plastic tubs and containers to use in the shop. Drain oil, wash parts, mix stuff, etc. They work fine and are already paid for.
Love that brush guard reminds me of my dads truck
I have an 86 250 with the 6.9. Truck always starts, and I get 20mpg even loaded. Great trucks.

Man I’m so jealous of the weather, your shops wide open, almost no rust… I’m in northern Canada and it’s cold, snow everywhere and no shop! Makes me wonder why I live here lol
I always us this large pair of Channel-lock pliers for squeezing the pistons back in their bores on the calipers. Quick and works great.
Strong work Travis. Looking good Rick.
Good job. You know value when you see it. Keep it up.
