Just replied to another comment about it! We're looking for a potential maximum of 13k damage added on top during the whole stagger phase. So yep, gonna need way more than that.
I really wished they added more ifrit abilities, like throwing flame like ability or smash the ground ability, even better the hellfire for a ultimate.
it makes sense to me, it's an Eikon ability that was desing to target multiple enemies so, having less damage is understandable. maybe it has some other base uses.

To reply to you, if an ability is only intended to be used for crowds then it can only hope to be as good as Ignition, Flare Breath, Rime and Gungnir. Which isn't very good at all. I truly don't think it's got any uses other than looking stylish. I'd love to be wrong though.
@@Davick173 to counter that I would say that using the rest doesn't require anything. No cool downs needed and if you do infact want to combo those crowds you can easily use the other eikonic abilities on the ground or in the air. I just see it as a more accessible ignition/gungnir. A simple lunge attack while in the form does well for multiple enemies. I use it as a weaker leviathan/ easy combo tool if anything
its feat has some combo utility. You can use it midair to extend some juggle combos alongside purge and advent/rising advent. also the charge magic is kinda nice cuz it keeps firing even if you switch to other things.
The way you used it of course it's not worth using. The whole deal with Ultima eikon is its charged magic, it's the best charged magic in the game in terms of damage and combos, the melee attacks are supporting its charged magic while it's out and are for air combos and crowd control. Press eikon feat button + charged magic > dodge and release magic > do what you want. Every ultima melee attack should be dodge cancelled (jump cancel for the lunge), without dodge cancel its very slow and impractical to use. Ultima also has one of the best dodges and with the right use you can almost be whereever you want at anytime.
I just don't see any situation where he can ever be more valuable than Levi, who also has everything you mention: a pretty good charged magic attack, an amazing long-range dodge and the ability to absolutely wreck will bars, which Ultima doesn't even do. So, as you say, it's not practical at all. Definitely not worth losing one of your precious 3 Eikon Feat slots.
@@Davick173 Leviathan's magic and charged magic does the same damage, not as damaging and can only be used grounded but yes leviathan is very good for will damage. Ultima is like a more flexible less will damaging leviathan.
since you talked about upgrades, i wish they had done something else with flare breath. it's one of the coolest abilities to me and it makes me sad that it's so useless
Idk ultima’s feat synergies really well with the rest of Clive’s moveset. Also as someone who likes to be in the air alot this feat and the rest of ultima’s kit is incredibly good for air mobility and gives you way more options for airel combat, using ultima combined with cold snap and deadly embrace/phoenix shift makes air combat feel so much better. So yes while ultima doesn’t do as much damage as leviathan or some other feats it has alot of utility for air combat and is just very good for mobility in general, it offers something that no other feat in the game has imo. One last thing but I feel like calling ultima’s cooldowns better versions of some of phoenix’s moves and saying they bring nothing new to the game is really weird when not only can you use them in the air which already gives them utility most moves don’t have but also the way enemies interact with those moves is very different from phoenix’s moves.
I admittedly haven't tried him out on Arcade, but he gives so many low-grade Battle Techniques that I think it's nothing Satellite can't already handle

It’s meant for combo extension, so if your not into that then obviously you’d feel like this, along with other abilities like Rime and Rift Slip, wouldn’t be worth it
Sure, that's why we keep the abilities but trash the Eikon, its Feat is a waste of a slot. Since damage is pretty much the same as base Clive (so, negligible), the only thing it has going for it is a levitation that's pretty unnecessary and awkward to use in combination with the rest of Clive's moveset.
You're exactly right! This is probably its intended use, I suppose. However, anything that's designed solely for fodder enemies is destined to be bad (see Aerial Blast, Flare Breath, Rime, Gungnir and even Voice of God)

I don't mean this as insultive But I don't really understand why you made this video who actually plays the game just using basic combos? The game is legitimately a Theorycraft hack and slash using Elkon Abilities that make them work with each other. If you don't know how to combo properly you're missing out in a lot of fun.
There are no Magic Bursts you have to time, but you can continuously cast Rampant Ruin during the combo by mashing Triangle. This adds 1k-something damage to stagger, so you're better off saving yourself all the button trouble. You can alternatively hold Triangle to cast Rampant Ruinra, which is a bit more effective and adds another ~13k damage for the duration of the whole stagger. So yeah, for me it's not even a start to ever consider this Eikon Feat!
Yeah...I am extremely disappointed that this is what we got from an "Ultima" Eikon. It's so fucking bad and underwhelming. Why does everything have to be so balanced these days. In the old days an Eikon like this would have been worthy of the name Ultima. Such pathetic damage. Even the Ultimate is underwhelming and though it has the same stats as Tsunami, it actually does less damage.
To be fair, the form can shoot magic with no interruption to its melee combo, so some damage was left on the table here.

It depends, if you're going for S-Ranks, you want to go for as little damage as possible to squeeze every little point out of an enemy.

The only thing I can see this form being good with is having a general way to deal damage to crowds, but crowds also melt fairly easily regardless

Can't you also Burst when auto-attacking with Ultima's Feat active?
