    I sense that Night breeze and baby raccoon are quite similar with them both being linear switches. The difference is that the night breezes have a lower actuation force. I have them side by side on my Halo 96 and cannot really tell the difference.

      Although there is subtle difference, they do sound kinda similar. You’re right.

    Great video, but I can't help but be disappointed that you never actually typed on either set, which is I assume what most people would have been waiting to hear.

    Thank you. Suggestion: instead of narrating so much, just label with text when you are doing a specific switch. It will be a much more fluid video. Basic video guide: show, don't tell

      Thanks. Yeah , I was too worried about people can't see clear what keys I was typing and wanted to deliver the info as accurate as possible. I'll just do subtitles next time. it'd be easier for me too.

    I like the sound of the night breeze and rose glacier. Have a halo 75 coming with the gateron browns as thats the version that i noticed on special but might mess around at a later date and try those out because I'm a bit crazy. Much cheaper than the baby animal switches.

      I have the Rose Glaciers and Night Breeze on the way. I love them both. I just learned all the Halo 96 keyboards come with a Night Breeze switch under the ghost space bar no matter which switch you choose.

    • @Owen-np3wf
      @Owen-np3wf ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @MsG110 Yeah, I noticed the night breeze also. Ended up buying a pack of the rose glaciers and night breeze as they aren't too expensive compared to others like the baby raccoon or kangaroo. Had a akko 5075b plus put in for warranty because the battery wasn't charging. Going to put the night breezes in that and the rose glaciers in the halo

      @@Owen-np3wf I have the Akko V3 Piano Pro switches and they are very similar to the Night Breeze. I can barely tell the difference at the moment. I didn’t think I would enjoy linear switches until I tried the Night Breeze and Piano Pros. I typically stick to tactile switches.

    • @Owen-np3wf
      @Owen-np3wf ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @MsG110 ah tyvm for your input. The only switch from Akko I have tried is the akko cream yellow v3 and I find them to be very good value out of the handful of switches I have tried. I will look I to the Piano pros also😀

    Are any of the switches that nuphy had on amazon i.e. baby kangaroo, baby racoon, g pro brown 2.0, rose glacier, or night breeze similar to cherry mx silent reds?

    • @neotokyovid
      @neotokyovid  ปีที่แล้ว

      Night breeze is the only one linear in the list, similar to silent red. However, night breeze feels quite different to silent red.

      Among these, I would say night breeze. but I’d recommend cherry red silent if you’re looking for something really quiet.

  • @Laura-001
    @Laura-001 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Hello! Thank you very much for your comparison. I'm coming from a roccat keyboard with membrane. Would you recommend the red glacier ones for a similar feeling?

    • @neotokyovid
      @neotokyovid  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I would recommend generally anything tactical (brown, baby kangaroo, etc) If you found membrane switches pleasant to type. However, I can’t really say I recommend Rose Glacier because first it needs a stronger actuation force than other conventional tactile switches. Secondly, I haven’t used the keyboard you mentioned and the typing experience can be very personal for different people. With that’s being said, I always suggest people who use membrane keyboard first try out Brown switches (since they are the most conventional and common tactile ones) and see if they like it and take it as an anchor when picking up other switches.

    • @Laura-001
      @Laura-001 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@neotokyovid thank you so much for your explanation. I'm using the roccat isku keyboard almost 10 years now I would say and decided it's time for something new. Now I'm a bit overwhelmed by the choices of switches 🤣 I can say I don't like clicky switches like the gateron blue. I tested the cherry mx red at our local electronic market and I didn't like them either because they were too easy to press. I tested a low profile keyboard with gateron brown v2 but they are some kind of hard at the bottom but might just my 10 years of having a rubber membrane keyboard. I thought about the night breeze as well but I'm afraid that they will be too easy to press. I might try the normal gateron brown then but hearing all the great about the new switches, especially the night breeze and rose glacier, it's hard to decide.

    • @neotokyovid
      @neotokyovid  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Laura-001 yep, you’re exactly right. Most of the tactile switches get hard at the bottom. Instead, the baby kangaroo and rose glacier takes more force to actuate first but once it passes the actuation point they get very light, and the actuation point is quite shallow. Sort of like membrane keyboards.
      You might also want to look into Topre switches as well (e.g. HHKB type-S). They feel more like if membrane and mechanical switches had babies.

    • @Laura-001
      @Laura-001 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@neotokyovid that sounds like the switches I'm looking for. I read about the baby kangaroos that they have a ping back sound from the spring bar. Have you noticed that too? Thanks for the recommendation! I'll look into those switches as well. Since the keyboard is hot swappable I'm looking forward to try some switches.

    • @neotokyovid
      @neotokyovid  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Laura-001 Indeed there is, and it's a good analogy to "bending a tape measure". They both have the ping back sound but Rose Glacier stands out more.
