This is not consistent with her global aspirations and newly acquired status on the world stage. I hope the political establishment heeds the advice that Mr Sanjeev Chopra has provided in this The Print segment.

Sure it has to be well debated and so that the intent of the doctrine represents the national character and value systems.

Manu smriti was never the law of the land in India. May be some small kingdom but never the whole territory that is present day India. So ascribing Manusmriti as reason for enslavement of India for thousand years is identifying the problem/issue very incorrectly.
