“Through storms of doubt, through nights of fear,
He holds his duty ever near,
Not for the fame, nor for the praise,
But for the flag that proudly sways.
And when the time has come to rest,
He’ll know he gave his very best,
For love of land, and freedom’s claim,
He’ll leave behind a shining name.”
Amongst the best episodes of First Person Second Draft. Heard about Mr Chandra so often, but it’s only now that we know him. Thank you Shekhar Ji
During his tenure in Washington, he was close to Henry Kissinger. He told me about his days in Washington. Dr Surender Bhutani in Warsaw (Poland)
Salute to one of India's finest civil servants.
"Finest civil servent who held all possible positions" what does it show? That he is the finest Clark, jack of all trades master of none , which sums up India's bureaucracy & the mess it has created in India
Our own ‘Dark Knight’ !!!
Thanks for this!
And this is the real perk of subscribing to your channel @SG.

Thankyou Verymuch Shekarji for the update..
Pretty love the the GOLDEN era of our time.❤
Excellent and thanks
Thanks Shekhar for this episode on Naresh Chandra. In fact, why every Monday, everyday of the week, you should have such stories from the past, which are in the national interest and devoid of your political leanings!!! That would be so nice!!!
He was excellent person. Amazing personality.
Paisa wasool story! Thank you for sharing, do continue these second drafts
Thank you, Rohit, for writing in with your support and appreciation for this new venture...best wishes, Shekhar
@@ThePrintIndia yaha US mai writings on the wall dekh jaiye, Shekhar. Texas se shuru kariye, swagat hum karenge 😄
Very good storytelling Shekhar ji. And a much needed one this. Thank you.
Impeccable integrity; nationalist to core; a voice which could never be ignored. Even by the high and mighty.
Hope you get more time for this series.
Never heard of him.
Thank you for sharing the story of such a great patriot.
I don't have much of an opinion of Shri.Shekhar Gupta on his political acumen or insights but he is excellent in defence matters and portraits of personalities like this story and also the various snippets he gives about his interaction with personalities in the course of his career. Like M K Narayanan always had a file on everybody Shri. Shekhar Gupta has an interesting story on every personality
He comes with such history only after protagonists died. The dead man cannot come to confront him.
I wonder why shekhar ji wont di such episodes more
Excellent coverage as always. It would be amazing if Shekhar ji could pen down these amazing stories of amazing people in a collection in a book. They are invaluable tales that must survive.
I use to read those Stupid Expose !
But I knew very well that he was brother to Gary! An impeccable Student of Kao the master !
Rest as they is just plain intellect !
Excellent!! Looking fwd for more!!
I'm so glad you like this series, Vijay. Thank you for your support and appreciation...best wishes, Shekhar

Not only liked but also loved this segment First person Second Draft.
Very interesting !
Really nice story. Waiting for the full sequel
WOW😍🤩❤ What a man
Great story-telling/narration gupta ji
All PMs trusted Mr Chandra and despite wide political spectrum of governments that came in 90s … all worked for the country and how can India get its nuclear status!
We should remember that and go beyond our personal political choices when it comes to betterment of the country because we are all in the same boat after all !
Thanks sir❤
We as a nation worship civil servant with little reason.
I hope you have some means to escape your homeland on short notice! Not because you’re a coward, but because you’re so precious and need to keep up the good work! Wish you all the best!
Thanks!
Dear member,
Thank you for the generous contribution you have made towards our journalism.
Shekar Just listened to Vir Singhvi’s show, he says Middle class unhappy ( he is a smooth talker and does not use outrage though he means it). Either you give him a class or take a class from him.
Excellent Shekhar ji...
We should be grateful to these people ❤
sir, request one episode on Gen K V Krishna Rao
I had a brief chat Mr Naresh Chandra in 2006-7 and I asked him about the storied talks between Jaswant Singh and US Deputy Secy of State, Strobe Talbot. He said "it was a most exasperating situation for us in the Indian embassy in Washington, because Mr Jaswant Singh was breaking every protocol in this period" ! I thought he was direct and upright.
Pure gold! 👍❤️
A Civil Servant of every acceptability 🙏🙏✍️✍️
brilliant episode
Mr. Shakhar,
You may can also see it as Indian call to USA for minority crisis in Bangaladesh is there way of saying that “we know that the thing you did in Bangladesh, and it’s your lapdog who is in power for your interest. We can handle the situation but you are the key conspirator. So before we go back to the old times, you should order your dog to wiggle its tail and do the needful act”
Thank you Shekhar Saab.🙏
the question remain's " who was the mole "
Continue the series
Excellent!
What about barkha dutt , rana ayub , arifa sherwani , ajit anjum , ravish kumar etc ? Are they moles or are they doing real journalism ??? And also what about YOU ??? You are also of dubious background Mr Shekhar !!!
No journalist is free and fair . Be on right or left side of the spectrum. If they are then they wont be able to earn their daily bread . Sooner people realize this better it is .
Good person.
Did he write a memoir?
Do a cut the clutter on malayalam movie industry's situation now
Less hand movement 👍👍
Please do a vedio on hema committe report
Habibi! Come to Dubai.
Can we know who were the powerful people who made the insinuation that he was a mole
Those who made the insinuation were part of the plan probably, to give credibility to the story.
Make a ctc episode on UPS
please fire your sound engineer, if you have any.
Lalsalam shekhar gupta. A andh Namazi ka andha analysis 😂
Anti national channel and father of anti nationals of editors of India is the worst person for such a job 😂 Vande matram
Sir, you say S Gurumurthy is a friend !! well, of course , he was with Shourie against the Big A !! that was then !! you have never done walk the talk or OTC or anything with S Gurumurthy... i am quite sure Demon happened because of him. last year he also said after chandrachud left that "Constituition Must be changed" .... bulao bade sahab ko. question karo Sir
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
US & China made Pakistan a nuclear state while RAW, IB and GOI kept sleeping . 🤪😂🤣😆
Dum hai tohh Parulker pe baat karro...
The Print is anti-national and looks for subjects where controversies can crop up. All this done in a style which is impressive on the surface but not when you analyze indepth.
Nevertheless, interesting episode.
Really Mr. Gupta, too much solipsism and self referencing and fluff. I waited till the 5:00 minute mark without learning a single useful bit of information.
Did he also see a coup in delhi by indian army recently , like you did couptaji ?
Kay be bude
Not interested
You are speaking very symbolic or figurative
Please make simpler
