Deni is the key as he is the Point Forward and can be the playmaker. No more trapping Simons and Scott or Shaedon

Too bad the Blazers missed out on Knecht at #14 but they made the right decision in getting a proven power forward with Avdija in exchange for that pick. Now they can put Grant and Ayton on the market and secure even more first-round picks. The future is now looking bright for the Blazers.
It woulda been nice to knecht but we’re hurting at the 4. I’d imagine we run scoot ant and toumani. Or sharpe over toumani. Getting knecht wouldn’t get that much PT if he came over here

I cannot believe he fell all the way to 7...My lord he will help the Blazers immensely...Deni will team up with him for some easy buckets, and the Blazer guards will provide many lobs not to mention greatly benefit from his pick and rolls

Scoot, Simons, Avdija, Shaedon and Ayton aint too bad of a young core with Cling coming off the bench with Jabari and whatever guard rotation they do. Id imagine Grant is gone

You can't go wrong with Donovan Clingan. At worst, he's going to protect the rim for you.
I hope the Blazers keep Grant and Ayton too. They have an exciting team. But it is very young and unexperienced and it will take a FEW YEARS to develop and grow together as a team. Be patient! I am happy.

Clingan is going to be really good. Very talented, and he's going to work extremely hard. He's prepared to shine after back-to-back championships at UConn under the best college coaching staff in the USA!
One of the three steals of the draft at #7, the others being Topic at #12, without the injury, which he should heal fine from, he was predicted probably top three, huge steal for OKC and the other steal was Knecht falling shockingly to #17 Lakers, he was the best sure thing scorer in the draft, all just because he is 23 and the current fad in the NBA is only drafting 18-19 year olds that have usually proven nothing on the court but just on supposed potential, this fad will cause more busts than ever in draft history.
Knecht woulda went to blazers at 14 if Deni never happened 💯
Clingan, Scoot, Sharpe, and Simons are all under 25. That’s a heck of a young core

Shoulda taken Edey, look at the head to head matchup in the ncaa title game. Edey clearly better in every category and could start tommarow. By feb 2025 will be obvious the Blazers used the 7th pick to draft a backup center basically.

Bad take… edey was literally their only offensive power in that game. Dropped 30 something because they shoveled the ball to him every time and they still lost. Clingan is a better interior defender than edey and and has sooo much more upside
@@chriskelly3940 By January reality will sink in with Clingan, I hope he becomes the next Joker but would settle for Nurkic but prepared for a fun size Mark Eaton or a bigger Cody Zeller, he's also not much of a foul shooter.

Whoever gave this pick a grade A needs to fired, Cronin needs to be fired, Jody should be forced to sell the team. This combined with the Wizards trade should be enough to put someone in jail

Fk off troll. Oden was great. He had 13pts, 20reb, 4blks the game before his injury at only 21 years old. He was going to be the best center in the league. 30 out of 30 GMs polled back then were taking Oden. look it up.

If Marc Gasol and Nikola Jokic can be stars in the NBA then I think this kid has the athleticism to be at least a good starter
@@JarJartwinks427 both of those guys can shoot. Defenses have no reason to go out and defend Clingan. All those easy baskets clingan gets around the hoop. Those won't be there in NBA, unless the other team has a smaller guy on him, and if that's the case, clingan won't be able to defend the smaller guy at the other end. Slow footed defenders in the nba generally find themselves in foul trouble, playing in limited minutes. I don't view him as a starter on a good team while in the league. I hope that I'm wrong.
