Nice, I would like to see a Doom 2 mod & map using the Eternal character models & their animations only, replacing the original D2 models as much as possible.
Interesting, but do you think you can make them follow the original doom 2 art style? Their detailed sprites and 3D models make them look weird and out of place in doom 2.
That is because they are MD3 models that uses vertex animation. IQM models uses skeletal animations so the model doesn't get deformed, also the animations are smooth and uses less memory so you can add more enemies on screen without huge FPS drops. Hope the dev can release a new version using iqm instead md3
@andr4250 this use skeletal animations as well... They are exported from SMD or source model file directly from GMod and it uses the skeletal animations from source engine
@@Leoyagami96 yes, but they are exported to md3 when you includee it in the .pk3 right? Because exporting an animated model to md3 compiles the anims to vertex animation, making the model file too heavy and causing fps drop of there is too much enemies. I made a test exporting the same model to MD3 and IQM and i got 90mb vs 15mb.
@andr4250 GZDoom since 4.4 now supports new MD3 that supports skeletal animations, and there is even a Blender extension that works with skeletal animations.
@@Leoyagami96 Do you still haves the model files and animations? Because can be exported to IQM instead MD3, iqm haves better optimization, less weight and looks better.
sweet, I just exchanged doom2 sprites for some n64 doom sprites and its kinda funny how much taller they all are in comparison to the originals

DOOM enternal can RUN DOOM 2?
Yeah go to the computer in fortress of doom and enter “Flynntaggart”
And doom classic 1993
What Doom players thought monsters looked like at that time:
very nice man, i want to see this when its finished
It is released in moddb
Can’t wait to see dark ages in doom 2
Seeing full 3D models in older Doom games is always hilarious
Forget “can it run doom?” , “CAN IT RUN DOOM ETERNAL???”
When it's finishes I wanna play it
It is on moddb page, search as "Doom 2 eternal models moddb" on google
Hot damn!

that is the point. if you want vanilla use chellos voxels
these are for hd weapon and map addons
Omg its all 3d model?
Holy god, how the hell 😭
link 🙏🙏🙏
It's kinda hard to tell with the video quality but are these voxelated? They kinda look like they're made out of tiny cubes.
@@wyattbooth6372 they are HD 3d models that I exported from source engine (GMod) to GZDoom MD3 model format.
You can download the mod and try it.
